Thank you to Giselle for saving our night. This was a very different experience than the first time we were there. Our reservation was at 10:30pm and our flight was delayed so I called to let the team know we would be there by 10:40pm (actual was 10:37pm). We understood the kitchen was closing so zero issues with ordering right away. Our first waiter was great (don't know his name but he had curly hair), very professional. The big problems with the restaurant are: - very boring wine program, completely off trend with no natural/orange wines - we tasted glass after glass of characterless wine and finally settled on a couple. Why so un-adventurous in 2021? - Cocktail list could be a bit more interesting too. Read like a summer list - Spritzes in November? No brown spirits drinks except 1? - I ordered a drink and was informed one of the ingredients was missing. Can't recall the name but it was the rye & gin one. Finally got the Naked & Famous which was very good (I can order this in any bar in the world though and would've preferred an interesting signature drink but your list isn't to my taste which is brown spirit forward (I can make a Manhattan at home thank you) - Ordered 4 items - duck & mushroom soup were delicious, cabbage made no sense as a dish, hard to eat, not well seasoned, etc. And the cheese cauliflower was a wreck. No seasoning and undercooked cauliflower. - why in the world is the bartender spraying and wiping down the bar at 11:30 with customers in the room? very weird. You're open until 12am, clean when the people are gone This was way more difficult a meal experience than it should have been. At least Giselle was there to take care of us in the end and make right by the check. But if you are just going to offer boring food and drink with zero edge I can't recommend the restaurant.

Great afternoon. Fantastic atmosphere. Only negative thing was the maitre d who seemed extremely inconvenienced to have to deal with us. She sensed around like she was on a catwalk looking down at the clientele. Rest of the staff were wonderful.

I’ve been for lunch and dinner many times. Always a pleasure, service is wonderful, and this was another lovely lunch for two. Burger size could have been more generous, to be honest, so losing a star for being tight on the portions.

Fabulous ambience - really buzzy and enjoyable. Let down by appalling customer service. The food was good and well presented. When we complained about the lack of flavour in a cocktail, the waiter refused to acknowledge there was an issue or offer to fix it. We will not be returning.

Always have a good experience at Dean St Townhouse. The seating is comfortable, you don’t feel you’re on top of other tables. You’re not rushed and the food is always truly delicious. It only adds to an enjoyable meet-up with friends or colleagues.

We had a really lovely time at the Dean St Townhouse. We came for my birthday and they kindly presented some chocolate truffles with a happy birthday candle at the end which was a total surprise! The food was very tasty - we both had a roast dinner. Unfortunately the first one came out luke warm but the waiters replaced them without hesitation. So very pleased with the service. We enjoyed sitting near the open fire which felt very cosy at this time of year.

I absolutely love the Dean St TH, so am already biased. For me, the ambience is the best bit (the candle-lit tables are so lovely), but the smoked haddock soufflé is a close second. Cosy, comfort food in stylish, inviting surroundings and great service, what’s not to like?

This is a superb restaurant. Really nice staff and great food. I can be a little noisy and quite expensive (we paid £135 a head for 3 courses and wine). Can't fault the food though, excellent. Great venue for taking clients out and celebrations. Too noisy for romantic meals.

Went early evening with friends for my birthday. The place was packed and buzzing, staff very friendly, waiter really knowledgeable and explained ingredients in detail. Service a bit slow but the kitchen must have been busy and the food was worth waiting for. Loved the surprise happy birthday truffles, really nice touch. Would recommend for a relaxed evening with friends. Will visit again.

Third visit in about two weeks, always a reliable and enjoyable restaurant. Superb service from our young waiter, food very nice, and relaxed ambience, though (as I said in my previous review), only the rear section is quiet. The front area, where unfortunately we were sat this time, is uncomfortably noisy, especially when you have a group of men standing drinking at the end of the bar six feet away from your table.

Went there for early pre-theatre dinner as a party of five. Have eaten there 5-6 times previously, usually inside, sometimes outside. Good menu with choices for all, and as well as a good choice of starters, mains, puddings the wine list is good. We had lovely mushroom soup as a starter, others had piccalilli with Scotch egg, the haddock and chips were excellent, as was the steak, this time we didn't have any pudding. This is a favourite for an evening dinner, as the food/prices are excelent for Soho, there's a coat check, proper tables with tablecloth, candles etc but there's also a but of a vibe.

I had a luke warm kedgeree which tasted unseasoned. Our coffees took over 20 minutes to arrive. And my pain au chocolat was undercooked in the oven. Not what you expect for the prices paid and the reputation of the place. Disappointing.
