We opted for the 5-course tasting menu and what a delight it was! Each offering arrived beautifully and imaginatively plated. The flavour combinations were exceptional, incorporating a range of seasonal local produce as well as traditional Indian flavours. The decor of the restaurant is sumptuous, adding to the overall experience. For our older ears, the music could have been a tad quieter, however I’m sure it was fine for the mainly younger clientele. The icing on the cake was the friendly and obliging staff. We look forward to many return visits to fully explore the menu.

JJ’s Restaurant is a Vancouver institution. Both the kitchen and front of house are run by students who are in their 2nd level of cook training. Enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch which is reasonably priced and produced with the highest level of passion and care by students with the guidance of their Chef Instructors. If you are interested in a group booking please email culinaryarts@vcc.ca. Chef's Table dinner is a set menu, and courses can not be changed due to guest preferences. We have these specific proteins on the menu to further the student's knowledge in the program.

As the days grow longer and the evenings warmer, Dose Coffee transforms into Dose After Dark — a seasonal dining experience offered Thursday through Saturday evenings all summer long.

Led by Head Chef Ivan Blackwell (you may remember him from Alfred’s), and joined by Alasdaur Aitken, the kitchen presents a Mediterranean-inspired menu full of vibrant, shareable dishes.

Our curated wine list features a thoughtful selection of old-world wines and inventive spins on classic cocktails — perfect for pairing and patio sipping.

The patio offers an alfresco dining experience whilst the inside dining space offers a more intimate atmosphere close to the action of the kitchen.

Dose After Dark launches Friday, June 13 and runs through to mid-September. Reservations are strongly encouraged, though we always keep space for walk-ins.

Born of a love of Spanish food and culture, Perro Negro features an extensive list of tapas, sherry, and wine from Spain, BC, and beyond, served in an atmosphere that is lively, casual and fun! Entered through Ferris' Upstairs Seafood & Oyster Bar, Perro Negro is a true hidden gem.
Chef & owner Dave Craggs' early memories of growing up on Vancouver Island center around food; digging for clams, roasting oysters on beach fires, picking shrimp from the docks at Peddar Bay and eating fresh fish from the waters of East Sooke.
Dave's culinary influences point heavily to the countries of the Mediterranean, in particular Spain, where he travels often. Dave is happiest when eating simply prepared, freshly caught seafood, preferably on a beach with his toes in the sand.

The food here is excellent, with a good variety of tapas options and good selection of drinks. Having a “drink special” designed by the server was a nice addition, as well, adding to the kitschy vibe. It’s a small place, and gets fairly loud as a result, but the overall experience is great. Only less-than-amazing thing I can comment on is how they seat people - their default seems to be to jam everyone in side by side, instead of spacing out the groups and filling in as necessary. No one wants to sit a foot away from strangers when there are open tables elsewhere in the restaurant, but that’s how they seat people. Far too many restaurants do this, unfortunately, so Perro Negro is not alone. On the plus side, they were accommodating when we asked to move, and other tables were asking to move as well, so it did get sorted out. Hopefully, they get the message and start spreading people out a bit better, but it’s something to watch for when visiting. We will definitely be back.

An amazing experience with masterfully curated and crafted dishes.Each dish was spectacular and the setting is wonderful. This has been our favourite dining experience by far in the Naramata area.

I can’t believe how good this was. The food was phenomenal. The drinks were delightful. The service was amazing and attentive. The whole thing just felt very personal. It was a really beautiful meal.
