Diwan at the Aga Khan Museum
Great service, food was very good, nice presentation, very relaxing, Kelly is our server, she was great, very friendly and happy to do her work with smiling.
One of the best Indian/Middle Eastern restaurant in Toronto. Consistently excellent.
Although the menu and dish descriptions were enticing, they oversold some of the dishes. My friend selected poutine which she found unpalatable. Given her reaction, I switched plates with her... and was equally disappointed. The other food selections were also not up to pa either. Given that we have very much enjoyed food here before we came away very much let down. The jazz group, while good, overwhelmed us with noise and the players plus staff failed to pick up on feedback whine and wail. As a result, for some time customers' ears were subjected to unpleasant noise.
Great service, good food, little pricey
Innovative and traditional dishes but lack a little in sides and presentation
The food is always excellent and the staff is very friendly. we noticed shortage of staff. We were dining on the patio with some friends visiting from LA ,they loved the food and the ambiance. in terms of the service the staff is very polite and friendly but they weren’t around much. Every time we needed something I would have to get up and go inside to find someone to help us. And that happened 4,5 times.
It was an absolute delight! From the time we arrived to exit, the hostess and servers were attentive and exceeded expectations! The food was delicious and we loved the variety! Definitely a must return for us and highly recommend it!
Ordered 4 different lunch items Nd all were delicious beyond belief!
Food and juices were excellent. Specialty coffee was delicious, but could have been hotter. Service was OK. Ambience, especially the low-level of ambient noise, is outstanding.
Appetizers and cocktails were excellent. Mains were underwhelming. $10 to park Is unreasonable. Diners should be exempt.
As usual the food was exquisite, with matching service. This is a very special place to enjoy lunch with friends or business associates.
Always have a wonderful experience at Diwan. Beautiful space, excellent food and friendly and accommodating staff.
Food was delicious and surroundings beautiful
We were seven guests celebrating an 80th Birthday and after lunch touring the museum to see everything but especially the moon exhibit. I was sorry you were out of the Southbrook wine and another guest was very sorry you were out of the cured salmon. All the food ordered was delicious and very much enjoyed.
Our server Kelly was outstanding, congratulations Kelly!
The food was SO GOOD. The room was gorgeous and the service was helpful and friendly. Will definitely come back again!
Amazingly creative menu well executed. The space is also beautiful
Highly recommend this fabulous restaurant! Great lunch with a very interesting menu.
I had never been to the restaurant before and had numerous questions about the menu so we called ahead and the manager, Isabelle, was very helpful and gracious! When we arrived we were shown to a great table by a big bright window, by a beautiful hostess who looked just like Amal Clooney. Our server, Kelly, was just marvelous. she was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, so flavourful! I got the butter chicken which is a favourite of mine and was not disappointed. I hope to dine here again!
We had been meaning to go for the longest time... and it was worth the wait!
The chicken tikka salad was divine: a glorious mix of tasty chicken, grapes, cucumber, carrots, cilantro, and mint yoghurt. The service wonderful, and the room very elegant.
Afterwards, we thoroughly enjoyed a walk through the building and the grounds. Can't wait to go back to explore more of the menu!
I always leave here satisfied and the staff is so welcoming!
We had a great time, everything was wonderful. We even shared the Honeymoon dessert. The dessert was almost on par with our actual honeymoon. Thank you all very, very well done.
It’s been my second visit to your restaurant and it never fails. We loved everything
Thank you for the opportunity to give this review as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Diwan. We visited during Summerlicious, Toronto's annual fine restaurants showcase event in which three course fixed price menus are featured. My choice at Diwan was the Watermelon Gazpacho appetizer - divine! the Two Ways Tuna - perfectly done and presented and the Cheesecake Parfait - a delicious finish. To accompany it all I enjoyed a glass of fine Prosecco.
My dining partner was as pleased with her choices as I was with mine.
The natural light filled room with it's view to the patio was beautifully decorated. All staff were welcoming and pleasant, the wait staff efficient and attentive.
A wonderful experience it was. We highly recommend paying a visit!
This was a wonderful find. We went for summerlicious but plan to go back again soon. The staff are so warm and welcoming! The dining room is elegant with original Syrian art work and panels.
The large outside patio is well furnished and even has a giant chess board and a tranquility pool. We just loved it and even met a couple of museum patrons in the elevator who invited us to look at their most lovely private lounge. I wish we could have accepted their invitation to stay longer and have coffee.
Best dessert I have had in a long time.
The atmosphere was great. Very nice service but slow. We went during summerlicous and felt like we were forgotten at some point.
Went for Summerlicious. The cocktails are unique and delicious. The food was exquisite and filling. And the surroundings are stunning. Will definitely come back.
My party of 4 was seated promptly at the time of our reservation. Wait staff were professional and efficient. Our choices from the Summerlicious Menu were very tasty and pleasing. All dishes were served promptly - there was no long wait between courses. I would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant and would also consider visiting another time.
We enjoyed lunch as part of the Summerlicious program, and was our first time visiting Diwan. Overall everything was excellent. I did find the noise level very loud, which was bothersome. There were two small “oops”. I got a different dessert than ordered. We ordered tea with dessert, but the tea never arrived. Neither of these is something which would stop me from eating at the restaurant or recommending it. The noise level is something which I would consider for future visits and definitely tell friends to be aware of.
Went for the Summerlicious menu which had a good variety of choices. All the courses we chose (lamb biryani, tandoori chicken, grapefruit salad, carrot cake) were tasty, elegantly presented, and in generous portions making the meal a great value for the money. Service was attentive and responsive and we got the table at the window that we requested when we made the reservation. The only issue we had was that they had run out of the ingredients for a number of the specialty cocktails which was a disappointment. But overall a great lunch experience and would return for sure.
Hostess was poor did not provide luncheon menus. Even though we had a 12:30 reservation they were out of stock on the wine requested. They were also out of stock of one of the main courses we ordered. The meals did not arrive at the same time and we had to ask the waitress to go and get them. The final bill was not split properly
Food is delicious and the service staff are nice
Good food, good service. Presentation was good too. Good choices on the Summerlicious menu. We enjoyed our dinner.
As members and neighbours we always enjoy our meals at Divan. it is too pricey to go often but a good choice when we have visitors and for Licious meals were there is great variety.
Excellent ambiance with excellent food and service. A wonderful experience.
I've visited Diwan several times now, and each time have been extremely pleased with the service and quality of the food - an excellent dining experience. This last visit was a little noisier than normal, probably due to the fact that the restaurant was quite busy because of Summerlicious. I brought two friends with me (a first visit for both) and they were delighted. Definitely on the list of places to take visitors!
Great lunch in a pleasing atmosphere and decor. The menu was well diversified. There was something for
Everybody. A little expansive for a lunch (summerlicious) but worth it in comparison with the regular menu.
The service was great. Enough time between each course to enjoy the company.
Will do it again
What an amazing experience - Angelo set the scene by explaining the various meanings of Diwan as well as introducing us to the architectural details of the space. We have visited the museum 5 or 6 times but have never dined at Diwan. Today’s lunch was spectacular and left us wondering why we had not eaten here before. The windows were open, the sun was shining and the lovely breeze made us think of wonderful holidays. Angelo was such an amazing host and ambassador. And the food...the food was incredible! We have experienced 5 Summerlicious meals this summer - Diwan was hands down the best on all fronts - service, food, ambiance - simply sublime. To be clear: In comparison to other non-Summerlicious meals in Toronto and across Canada and around the world Diwan is definitely in our top 10.
Great food and service - but it was noisy.
We had a table that was near the kitchen and that took away from the beautiful room!
We tried their summerlicious menu and the food was simply delicious. Specially the beef kofteh and lamb biryani! The service was 5 star. I would high recommend other friends and family and would definitely return.
The food was excellent. The tuna was perfectly prepared and the beef koofteh was tender. The only thing I found was the caramel ice cream was too sweet.
