Amazing food. The Roasted Butternut Squash Barratta was awesome and out of this world!!!!!! Can’t wait for it to reopen so I can return!!!!! Happy holidays
A bit high priced, especially the starters.
it was a very nice treat thank you. it was a very nice treat thank you.
The best. We always seem to gravitate towards Diwan to entertain our friends and family.
Outstanding and tasty meals
There was difficult to chose dish because of my colleague’s ethnicity- West European
not interested to try other type of food ( I was nor aware of that before).
Finally we decided to have chicken wrap and she loved it. Pannacota for desert was big hit as well. Thank you for help and understanding.
Diwan is a fabulous restaurant! The restaurant is stunning, the view beautiful, the food absolutely delicious and the service impeccable. It was my first time eating at Diwan and the food absolutely surpassed my expectations which were already high. It is so tasty and innovative. The staff are also so nice and kind and make you feel like you are the only one dining there. I would definitely recommend Diwan for any occasion.
Diwan is always enjoyable and service with a smile.
However, I feel that the menu is somewhat restricted, and reduced in choices since the pandemic.
The food could also have been warmer and it seems that the quality is less than before the pandemic.
Great service. Loved the serving sizes. Food was awesome and totally enjoyed by all
They were out of lamb burger; my fav and reason I chose Restaurant for lunch; the falafel that I had was large portion but just ok; pricey including parking but nice place;good service and lovely restaurant though
Hi, we were 12 people and the experience was great. The only thing I have to criticize is, that the Diwan reception staff is not vigilant. Only once out of 6 phone call did I get a person on the phone. Otherwise it was always voicemail. And they didn't call back in a timely manner. It was utmost frustrating and a number of times, I considered changing the restaurant. When we were there for lunch yesterday, the dining room was not fully booked. Please tell management of Diwan, they should look after their phone -in clients more responsibly, otherwise people will change venues. And this is Diwan's loss. Even when the restaurant is not open, and clients leave messages, can you not assign a person to look after these messages during hours and after hours? It's your loss if you let it slack...very frustrating.
Beautiful space, elegant and airy. Delicious food and lovely service. Thank you!!
The server was excellent - welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, but busy.
The lighting in Diwan in the day time is really great. At night the lights do not show the artworks to good advantage. Generally they are too bright. The ceiling isn't lit up. Such a shame.
Thank you for a very nice evening.
Great service, kitchen was very accommodating for food allergy (which I had specified at the time of reservation, and the waiter was aware of when we were seated). Wonderfully quiet, comfortable and with attractive decor. Food was very good and wait staff was very attentive but never intrusive. Great restaurant for both an intimate or larger group dinner, without being rushed. Will definitely return.
We were under a speaker and the music was a bit loud.
Great good with super service
Sunday leasurely lunch
My husband and I had lunch at Diwan last week while visiting the Aga Khan Museum. We loved our lamb dishes (burger and wrap) and delicious juices. The ambience was really lovely and it was so nice to look out at the clouds rolling by while we ate. The service was friendly and attentive. It was just part of an overall excellent experience at the museum that day. We recommend Diwan to anyone who loves great food.
Birthday Food was excellent. Desserts just fair. Not really set up to celebrate Birthdays but everything else was terrific
Fantastic! What a treat.
Lovely ambience and excellent service that made for an overall good experience.
Fantastic service - the Diwan team was very attentive and able to share interesting nuggets of information about the artwork in and around the restaurant. Food was delicious. Look forward to visiting again!
Food was good, carrot cake was yummy but Masala Chai (tea) wasn’t good.
Unique atmosphere! Interesting menu; attentive service!
This was our first visit to Diwan and we loved it! Food was absolutely delicious and well-presented; ambience delightful; and wait staff attentive and helpful. We will return!
I greatly appreciate that Diwan was very quiet. The restaurant is uniquely elegant and has a lovely ambience, and we were really looking forward to our lunch before our Museum visit. The staff and service were absolutely beyond reproach. We shared some excellent wine and a sharable: the vegetable samosas, which were good. The filling had a wee bite to it and was tasty. I love Persian food and ordered the Beef Fesenjan for a main. The accompanying rice and chickpeas were also tasty, although the rice was a little heavy and oily compared to the Persian rice to which I have been accustomed. I had never had Beef Fesenjan before, but have had Chicken Fesenjan many times because I like the combination of pomegranate and walnut. I am very sorry to say that I was very disappointed in the beef, as it was a little stringy and surprisingly fatty, and it took me several bites before I realized that I had better consciously separate the fat from the meat to enjoy the rest of it. I recognized two bits of walnut in my portion. Perhaps Chef McEwan might like to visit some of the Persian restaurants in the GTA for an inspirational refresher. My friend enjoyed her main, which were the shrimps. For a $60 to $70 lunch (per person, incl. tip), my expectations were sadly disappointed.
Amazing good - great service!
One of the best dining experiences I have had in Canada
Wonderful hummus (quite piquant!) and great samosas. We were a bit surprised not to find an actual lunch menu, but did shareables.
The ambience of the museum was carried into the restaurant with both the menu and decor. The staff were attentive and polite.
Wonderful evening at Diwan. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious.
Excellent service, delicious food and good atmosphere. We really enjoyed and will recommend to friends.
This is a lovely spacious room with note-perfect food and service.
I always enjoy the food and ambience at Diwan, and this time invited a friend to mark his birthday. I find it’s good preparation for viewing the exhibits, and in on this day, listening to Michael Chagnon speak on the cultural influences and technology of a Persian vessel. It’s worth the train ride from Glencoe, Ontario!
A real gem. The food was layered in different flavors and the service impeccable. The only disappointing dish was the lamb samosas. Everything else was wonderful.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. We were indulged in unique combination of tastes and overtly enjoyed the aesthetics of Diwan. Highly recommend it!
I have been here a few times and a good sign that I keep going back and bringing in clients or business partners to dine. First time to have lunch on a week day. Overall it's a great spot. food is great. service is good but can be bettter with some of the servers. To me besides good quality food service is key !! I am all for supporting people that are starting off but honestly if someone does not listen or willing to help it's quite the turn off. Hoping I don't get a bitter taste next time I go visit
I had lunch with friends at Diwan. The room and setting are beautiful. The service excellent. We shared many 'shareables' and appetizers. Everything was delicious.
It's the kind of place where you think about returning before you even leave.
Overall, we loved the ambience, food, and experience.
The portions are small. For the price we pay. Add more variety.
