Diwan at the Aga Khan Museum
With excellent service and interesting, tasty food, this restaurant was a winner!
Superb food. Early lunch at Diwan before a tour of the fascinating Aga Khan Museum is a perfect weekend trip !
Very pleasant - interesting dishes and friendly staff.
Wonderful unique dishes prepared and presented with care and panache. The environment is conducive to conversation and the staff very attentive without being obtrusive.
The food here is always excellent. Unfortunately this time however our favourite dish the short ribs was not on the menu since they constantly change their menu offerings.
However, I would absolutely recommend you try this place at least once!
Food is always interesting ,well prepared and delicious. Service is excellent.
My only comment is that the room is very cool .
The service was excellent
I went to Diwan with a party of five. We had not been there before and were absolutely delighted. The atmosphere was perfect. The servers were helpful with advice and efficient with food delivery. And we enjoyed the food - everything was beautifully presented and very tasty. The coffee drinkers among us were persuaded to try the Moroccan spiced coffee with dessert and all agreed that it was amazing. I found it went very well with the date cake in toffee that I had.
Third visit to the restaurant and this time around, it was for a birthday celebration.
Restaurant gets better and better with each visit. Superb menu choices reflecting so much diversity with some amazing flavours.
Thank you and keep it up.
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent food.
Nice venue. Interesting array of choice on the menu, well prepared and well served. Would like to see patrons adher to dress code.
Such an excellent menu and even adapted to the special exhibitions. Atmosphere is excellent and service very good.
Lovely spot to get immersed in lovely food and good conversation in a beautiful setting.
We were here for the first time. The ambiance is quite nice and food is amazing. I enjoyed the coriander crust salmon and my husband had the lamb. Both were cooked to perfection.
The only suggestion would be to inprove the service. While they are very very nice, there is a lack of communication between them. One table is served by 3-4 waiters and no wonder things are forgotten, like beer, wine and naan...
This should be a quick fix, overall a nice experience though.
We enjoyed the experience of eating quite refined middle eastern food, then enjoying the collection at the museum. We did feel that the Chicken Shwarma dish, while delicious was overpoweringly too spicy. The hotness overpowered the dish. The pea falafels were delicious and a light spin on traditional chickpeas. The best dish was the date cake for dessert, melt in your mouth yummy. Sadly the Turkish coffee was full of grinds and too sandy to drink. We would definitely eat here again. The service was great too.
This was my first time at Diwan. Far exceeded my expectations! Everything was great: the food, the ambience, the friendly courteous staff. The restaurant was quite busy considering it was lunch on a Thursday in early January which, as far as I'm concerned, speaks volumes as to its high quality and appeal. Would highly recommend with no hesitation. Kudos to everyone at the restaurant who made mine such a pleasant experience. Will definitely be a repeat patron.
The food was delicious. Our server Kelly was informative and attentive. A beautiful room. A little pricey for lunch but overall a great meal.
Diwan never fails to provide an excellent dining experience. The ambiance and the food is always extraordinary.
Great service, good food. We’ve been before and will go. Again.
We have eaten at Diwan many times, and enjoy our experience every time.
My friends and I lived Diwan. It’s food and atmosphere is excellent. Thank you for such a great experience.
Food was absolutely delightful.
Service was excellent and the waiter was very knowledgeable bout the menu.
We had 2 individuals with gluten allergies and the waiter was excellent with suggestions.
Ambience was perfect.
A must visit!!
Enjoyed a delightful meal. Will plan to visit again
Very pleasurable lunch with family.
Over the Xmas holidays great place to visit. Museum fascinating also. Very interesting.
Excellent cuisine and service . Beautiful atmosphere.
Will definitely return .
The occasion was my husband and my 45th wedding anniversary ; this was a special day and lived up to our hopes .
Harrissa chicken shwarma was amazing - nicely spiced with a perfectly balanced sweetness.
Wonderful pre-christmas family gathering.
I dined alone and had a excellent lunch of coriander-crusted salmon with new potatoes and green beans. It had two sauces, yogurt and tomato. I normally don't care for tomato sauce but this one was so flavorful and delicious. I also enjoyed my dessert of freshly made donuts and wonderful saffron ice cream. Pleasant, attentive staff and I sat in a quiet area. I have had lunch at Diwan several times now while visiting the special exhibits and always a pleasure to dine there!
Love how the tables are well spaced for private conversations! Great food!
Fitting place to stop for lunch or dinner after visiting the museum or just for good middle eastern food.
A must-visit restaurant with an international cuisine with exquisite ambiance. In addition to the great variety of very tasty dishes (the menu changes from time to time and is available on-line), we are partial to the Turkish coffee served and made in traditional Turkish fashion. We had invited friends to join us for lunch and they too were full of praise for this singular experience.
Our lunch at Diwan was enjoyable in every way. I was particularly interested in trying the yam fufu included in their menu, inspired by the Caravans of Gold, Fragments in Time exhibit. The dish did not disappoint. We will definitely be back to work our way through their menu.
Service was fast, polite and friendly. The food outstanding - we shared an appetizer and an entree for lunch. With two drinks and a coffee, the bill was just under $100. This is a lovely spot for a special lunch or get together.
The quality of food was outstanding. Many layers of flavours in every dish. Beautifully presented and prepared. We adored every bite.
We were unfortunate in our timing, there was a group of about thirty people from Bank of Nova Scotia celebrating their Christmas lunch . Not terribly noisy but a distraction nevertheless.
Loved the fusion food and so did our friends. The service was very friendly and our server was knowledgeable. The views from the restaurant were very open and it did not feel like we were in Toronto.
Eating here was an amazing experience! The decor is beautiful and calming.
The staff were wonderful and very professional! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food exceeded my expectations! I would totally recommend going here and take the tour after!
It is a very pleasant environment with very good, attentive service. The food is exceptionally good and served with flair. The current menu takes inspiration from the ongoing special exhibition at the Museum, Caravans of Gold.
Portion is "just enough" or on the small size, I have been there a few times and food are usually good to great - it can be a bit inconsistent even on the same dish - depends on the day. I liked their summer menu a lot more then the winter menu.
When possible, my friends from France and I always attend any new exhibit on during their stay. And part of the visit is a meal at Diwan . It’s such a beautiful space, and their kitchen tailors a menu that reflects the special exhibition taking place. And that food is always delicious.
