We stayed a couple of time waiting for a waiter, place seeemed to be abandoned, when we were about to leave I decided to go over the kitchen entrance and call for someone that appears to don’t care, came, put us seated, placed empty, I had to ask for menus, ordered burgers, took an eternity, worst burger have ever eaten, definitely not worthy a penny go to that place that is the main attraction if the hotel, by the way we were staying in the hotel, will never came back neither to the hotel. It was lunch time, and if I would have gone to Mac Donald’s it would at least be paying for what I get.

They cancelled my reservation and did not email me or call me. When I arrived I was told the rooftop is closed today. They did not ask me to reschedule or care that I was from out of town and this was a big inconvenience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The food was awful. The food took longer than a hour to come out. The food was way to greasy and tasted like old oil being reused. it was not worth the price we paid for. The manager walked by to ask how things were and we told him we weren't satisfied, all he said was I apologize for that and he continued to walk away.

I had reservations for brunch at 12PM. My friend and I showed up, and the guy at the door did not know if they had brunch or not. They proceeded to tell us, we could sit and wait... it was 11:50ish. There was no one outside, no table set up, NOTHING! We asked the door guy again, and he told us again he didn't know if they had brunch. Needless to say we left, no rooftop brunch and bad service.

Beautiful view, but I just wish there were was a bit more food for the price that was quoted. The watermelon drink wasn't that great but the customer service and view just made the experience great, probably would come back for the view only though.

We didn't need a reservation. I spent an hour being transferred back and forth on the phone -- trying to contact someone to change our time by an hour, only to show up and realize we didn't even need one. They don't have a phone number that actually connects to them at all.

Unfortunately, beyond the view of the city the Donovan Rooftop was disappointing. A group of us decided to do brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The menu was very limited, I believe there were approximately 5 brunch items. With most brunches, there are drink items such as mimosas and bellinis offered which was not the case DNV although, they were willing to provide. Each guest either ordered the chicken and waffles or the shrimp and grits which were there most popular items. When asked whether the chicken offered was white or dark meat, the server replied, "it's fried". Maybe, she was under the impression that African Americans love fried chicken thus, the type of meat served shouldn't matter. Needless to say both items lacked flavor and the portions were small. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, not even the hotel guest. DC is the home to some of the best restaurants, to patronize this restaurant would be a disappointment to any patron.

The actual lounge is quite small. We ordered the shrimp and grits which was just ok, the chicken and waffles which we sent back because the chicken portions (tenders) were over cooked as well as the shumai which was tasty. I'd prefer a better atmosphere with some music and peppier servers who were knowledgable but a bit o we worked. It's ok but I wouldn't return for brunch maybe just for a drink but then maybe not.

We went for lunch/brunch on a Saturday where the weather was gorgeous. The rooftop gives a nice scenic view of the Thomas Circle area and a nice vibe. If your table was right by the music speakers, it would be difficult to carry on a conversation; ours, a short distance away, permitted easy conversation. The rooftop might be unpleasant if it were hotter; I did note there were area heaters for cooler weather. The menu was somewhat limited but interesting. The food (orders for 3 people) came out at all different times, which was unfortunate as all were "hot" dishes and ideally should be consumed promptly. Overall I'd give it a C+.

Because of the building height restrictions in DC it's hard to find a place with a view, but this made us feel like we were back in Paris! The staff was super sweet and the food was enjoyable, but portions were a bit on the small side. Overall I highly recommend a visit if you're in DC.

The restaurant was very nice, the views were amazing, nice ambiance - but the portions were very small, for the full price. Still, the food was good. There was also a rather limited menu selection. If I go back, it will be with visitors in town and we'll go for the view - maybe more of a drinks place - but still, an enjoyable time.

We were able to sneak up here after the rain and proceeded to have a lovely brunch. They were nice enough to accommodate our group of 7 after a straggler decided to add on to our party of 6. The drinks were excellent and the food was good, although the plates were on the smaller side. Thankfully we were there more for the drinking so it worked out. Overall, it was a great way to start our holiday. Oh and we loved the bartender.
