Beautiful view of burrard inlet from our table ......started with crab cakes which were crispy outside and full of crab inside....linguine with halibut and salmon was full of both in a delicious tomato-cream sauce and my husband's prime rib was perfectly cooked and tender. Good wine list with great savings on the end of the bin list of wines. Our server was friendly and helpful and even asked if we were on a time limit for a play) which we were. A very enjoyable time.
Food, service etc great. Several screaming children active for an hour. Everything relaxing and enjoyable after they left.
We enjoyed our brunch. The service was exceptional.
Very pleasant atmosphere to take my sister for her birthday lunch. Our waiter was very good and recommended a glass of Prosecco. We ended up talking and eating for two hours! I had the chicken and brie sandwich with a salad. It was excellent!
The food was great and the view was also awesome. However the service was very bad. We were celebrating our anniversary and felt as if we were a nuisance to our server. I am not sure if he was given too many tables but we constantly had to wait for him to check on us or ask him for things we needed. My husband had to wave him over at one point to ask to see the dessert menu (where he slightly hesitated to tell us to wait one more minute). When we were ready to order our desserts we had to bother a different server who took our order and cared for us instantly. Within seconds he put the order in and brought us spoons, even though he had his own tables.
Definitely not the best service we’ve had but the food is good if you get a good server.
As always, outstanding food and service. Laurie our waiter was excellent!
Food is always tasty and has a nice varied lunch menu with good options. Could use some music or better ambience. Needs a bit of a vibe.
This is a great spot for good food and great ambiance. Would have given 5 stars if there was a quieter area for romantic couples. Smaller tables are very close to larger tables.
Our Server was very professional and attentive
The food was decent but not outstanding
We find this a wonderful restaurant for meeting for lunch or dinner. The scenery is lovely. A special place to meet friends!!
Great food and service. Just a little pricey. I had the spring rolls and soup. Was very tastey.
An excellent wine list, a menu with choices for all tastes, wonderful views over False Creek and set up in a way to allow you have a conversation over a meal. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent, and we will go back
Generally a good restaurant with very good food. Service however, was not that great.
Great place, quality food, awesome and personable server. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch!
Lovely location to show off our city. Warm and inviting room especially on sunny day. Food was delicious and service good. Had the lemon/blackberry squat for dessert and it was amazing. Little pricy for breakfast but for a special event it was worth it
Food prepared as ordered and delcious
Beautiful setting with awkward service. The server did know whether or not the kitchen could/couldn’t accommodate requests (ie substitute zucchini noodles for standard noodles due to gluten intolerance or on another dish put the seafood on the side so that the vegetarian could eat the pasta and someone else could enjoy the seafood). He didn’t say anything until our food was being served and the vegetarian didn’t have his dish while everyone else was being served their meal. That’s when he tells us they couldn’t put the seafood on the side and brought the menu for him to pick something else. That’s not acceptable.
It was a lovely meal. My son and I were taken to a table right at the window for our Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Further, it's not every restaurant that puts on a holiday turkey dinner, but this place did it so very well. We were both very pleased.
Turkey a little dry- a little skimpy in portion.
The food could have been warmer
Very nice place for dinner
Excellent food, very tasteful and good size portions. One thing the glass of House Wine was exhobatantly exspensive. $18.00 .
Real rip off. Will never order a drink there again.
Avoid at all cost! My family and I came here during the Thanksgiving long weekend. We ordered crab cakes, fish and chips and eggs benedict. The crab cakes were hard, overcooked and bland. The eggs benedict were extremely salty. The fish and chips had a thick batter, you can taste the flour. Our water was never refilled. The brunch menu is extremely limited. No longer an upscale restaurant, now serving diner quality food.
Beautiful restaurant.love the location and love the seating for two along the window.
It is a little pricey.
Food was wonderful and service excellent
We were happy to have found the experience so delicious and comfortable- happy to recommend it to others!
I made reservations for a table in the sun on the patio, the table we were seated at was only pRtially in the sun and on,y for the first have of our lunch hour. This disappointed me, otherwise everything else was enjoyable.
We had reservation for
Menu is a bit limited in choice. I think our waiter was not feeling well as the service was ok but not exceptional
Excellent service and a great place to meet old friends
Over the Summer, my girlfriend and I enjoyed many romantic evenings dining, sipping wine while relaxing together in the cozy outside couches under the white tents by the Water... thank you for that...
Now the Fall is here and on Sept 21st we dined inside for her birthday at a table for two by the windows overlooking the water, as we consider Dockside to be “OUR” restaurant for special occasions and drove from West Vancouver to celebrate. We weren’t disappointed.
Nathan our Server was outstanding and handled each request most professionally and with his great sense of humour added to ours, fun was served and made the evening most enjoyable.
All of the Servers at the appropriate time requested collected and brought the special dessert with sparkler table side and sang a fun and sincere Happy Birthday to my girlfriend.
Thanks to Nathan, the ambience and great food, we will be back to celebrate again.
Food is so so. Waiter not particularly friendly, service without a smile. Quite noisy once more people come in. Thought we had a romantic dinner to celebrate our anniversary but as things turned out, below our expectations
A great place to meet a friend for lunch! Wonderful ambience and service is always great!
wonderful food - excellent service and a great view make this a favorite dining spot in vancouver
Waiter was excellent. Food very good. Room beautiful.
Only caution, and one that would influence to whom and how many people I might recommend this resto to, assuming they can't get on the patio: the diningroom has very poor acoustics (hard surfaces) : even early in the evening when only 1/3 full, it was so loud it was difficult to include 4 people in the same conversation.
Really fun and a spectacular view! Would totally recommend a little get away stay in the city.
EVerything was fabulous but servers should be more aware of the wine list and what is dry, sweet etc...Our server had no idea.
Lovely time at Dockside while on vacation in Vancouver from NYC. Perfect setting, overlooking the harbor. Generous portions, good service. No issues when we asked for a table closer to the water -- they initially offered us something farther away, in the tent (outside), because they felt it would be warmer on a very cool day (thoughtful). Happy to return next time we're in town.
Waiter and food was awesome but unfortunately the food took a while to be served.
I love having lunch here but dinner was a major disappointment. The menu itself is a mish mash of things that has a lot of gaps. The lunch burger is missing from the menu as well as the kids menu items lacks items with meat on it like a kids burger. Most items on the kids menu is carbs and chicken strips is too frequently the default cop out.
Back to the adult menu, I get it...you have a million dollar view and want to charge for it. I have no problems paying, but your mains are over priced for what you get. I ordered the prime rib and was offered medium or medium rare. What came was medium well to well done. The veggies were sadly limp from overcooking. Yorkshire pudding was an oversized mass that was not appealing to look at.
My wife ordered the mussels. The mussels were over cooked with an uninteresting broth. Bland almost.
The crab cakes were the best thing on the menu. Flavourful, full of crab, minimal filler cooked crisp with nice balanced sauce and fresh sprouts.
Service was slow and waiter got the kids order wrong. Asked for pizza, got chicken strips.
I will return for lunches as I love the view, beef dip and burger, but i won’t be returning for dinner. If you are going to charge those prices for dinner step it up even if you need to charge another $5 for it.
My childhood girlfriend and I just re-connected and it is at Dockside that we schedule our rendez-vous..Since I work on the Island I have frequently lunched at Dockside. We ask for the same waiter Laurie and have the same salad. It is a great venue.
Tess was our server, not the first time, very good. Very happy with our entire experience. This time and every time.
Food was exceptional and service even better. Have been coming to this restaurant for many years and have never had a bad experience. Staff are so professional and accommodating and food never disappoints.
