Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

Food is so so. Waiter not particularly friendly, service without a smile. Quite noisy once more people come in. Thought we had a romantic dinner to celebrate our anniversary but as things turned out, below our expectations
wonderful food - excellent service and a great view make this a favorite dining spot in vancouver
Waiter was excellent. Food very good. Room beautiful.
Only caution, and one that would influence to whom and how many people I might recommend this resto to, assuming they can't get on the patio: the diningroom has very poor acoustics (hard surfaces) : even early in the evening when only 1/3 full, it was so loud it was difficult to include 4 people in the same conversation.
Really fun and a spectacular view! Would totally recommend a little get away stay in the city.
EVerything was fabulous but servers should be more aware of the wine list and what is dry, sweet etc...Our server had no idea.
Lovely time at Dockside while on vacation in Vancouver from NYC. Perfect setting, overlooking the harbor. Generous portions, good service. No issues when we asked for a table closer to the water -- they initially offered us something farther away, in the tent (outside), because they felt it would be warmer on a very cool day (thoughtful). Happy to return next time we're in town.
Waiter and food was awesome but unfortunately the food took a while to be served.
I love having lunch here but dinner was a major disappointment. The menu itself is a mish mash of things that has a lot of gaps. The lunch burger is missing from the menu as well as the kids menu items lacks items with meat on it like a kids burger. Most items on the kids menu is carbs and chicken strips is too frequently the default cop out.
Back to the adult menu, I get it...you have a million dollar view and want to charge for it. I have no problems paying, but your mains are over priced for what you get. I ordered the prime rib and was offered medium or medium rare. What came was medium well to well done. The veggies were sadly limp from overcooking. Yorkshire pudding was an oversized mass that was not appealing to look at.
My wife ordered the mussels. The mussels were over cooked with an uninteresting broth. Bland almost.
The crab cakes were the best thing on the menu. Flavourful, full of crab, minimal filler cooked crisp with nice balanced sauce and fresh sprouts.
Service was slow and waiter got the kids order wrong. Asked for pizza, got chicken strips.
I will return for lunches as I love the view, beef dip and burger, but i won’t be returning for dinner. If you are going to charge those prices for dinner step it up even if you need to charge another $5 for it.
My childhood girlfriend and I just re-connected and it is at Dockside that we schedule our rendez-vous..Since I work on the Island I have frequently lunched at Dockside. We ask for the same waiter Laurie and have the same salad. It is a great venue.
Tess was our server, not the first time, very good. Very happy with our entire experience. This time and every time.
Food was exceptional and service even better. Have been coming to this restaurant for many years and have never had a bad experience. Staff are so professional and accommodating and food never disappoints.
The service was great and the server was very friendly and attentive. Some of the food was a little disappointing in that there were some flavours that didn’t go with the main course (ie too much balsamic reduction with the Arctic char). The prices of the main course were dear for the amount of food served. Overall the dinner was ok and of course the patio is the star attraction.
Service was rude and appalling. Slow to take our order, rude when we asked where the food was. Just overall ruined the evening.
One of my favourite places, overlooking our False Creek.
My lobster pasta dish was not quite up to my liking.
I always, and I mean always, have trouble getting the table I want even though a long term client and even when reserving well in advance. It would be better if they had a no reservation policy. On this occasion I waited 20 minutes for a window table and then i was seated at a non window table. My food was not delivered as ordered. The view is great the food not bad, but the head waiter, not waiter, service is terrible.
Food overall was pretty salty. The fish and chips batter was a bit burnt. Service was average, it took a while to flag our waiter to get some fresh pepper for our soup.
Annual get together in a great summer location. Food is always excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and the service was very pleasant. We'll come again. Thank you.
Very nice to be in a quiet restaurant for a change where one could actually carry on a conversation without yelling. Server was most helpful, her recommendations were good and she seemed to know the menu well. The food was well prepared and cooked properly making for a delicious meal. The fish was very fresh and paired with complementary sides. Coffee and dessert was also yummy.
Waitress appeared bored and would rather be somewhere else. Took the order, and brought the food, and warm water. Made no effort to interact or be hospitable. Brought the credit card machine and the bill at the same time. Fish batter was burnt. We had a similar experience last summer but thought we would try again, but was disappointed again. Unfortunate because the ambience is inviting but the food and service need improvement.
First Class - great food, wonderful service and delicious food!!!
A lovely meal in a lovely spot!
Awesome seafood fettuccine and delicious apple crumble dessert
I reserved patio seating for 4:45 on a Sunday for my husband's birthday with my mom. My mom arrived first and they said had to prepare the table. I arrived moments later and asked about our table. They said they had no patio tables. I said I reserved it over a week ago. She said they didn't reserve seating on the patio. So I pointed to several empty tables on the patio and said what about these. She said there were people coming shortly for the tables so they obviously had reserved them! I asked about another table that had empty wine glasses and she said she would check. Yes, there was a table available, and it wasn't that one. So there was a table she just didn't want to give it to us. The table next to us didn't get filled for an hour so I don't know what the issue with reservations was. This was just the beginning of our visit!
We ordered yam fries as an appetizer and they were overcooked, but as the menu was changing we didn't send them back. My husband ordered the 6 ounce tenderloin $36 medium well. It came dry and well done, the vegetables were rubbery. The beans were dry and hard and not fresh and the carrots were rubbery like they were precooked and heated. These were not fresh vegetables! They didn't come and check on the food or the steak. When he is being treated he also didn't want to make a fuss. It was disappointing to say the least. We didn't order wine, because a basic BC wine was way over priced at $48 and prices went up from there. I ordered a caesar salad with a side of salmon and the salmon was nicely cooked. My mom ordered the Cob Salad which was also good.
Overall, if you want a good meal, don't come here! Maybe it's okay for an overpriced drink and appetizer. It only gets a 3 because of the patio and view, that's all it has! Please read the reviews before you reserve as the 3 star reviews are pretty accurate and I wouldn't want you to be disappointed with your experience of coming to a special dinner.
Visiting from California and enjoy dinner immensely. Great quiet atmosphere while we dined. Thank you.
Everyone was very nice and helpful and our server was great. Food great as well
We had dinner at Dockside on Friday night and sat out on the patio. It was nice! The food was excellent. We will go back.
Restaurant was busy but food wasn't hot. Good flavour just wish it was served warmer.
It is a place we go to often
The quality is consistent
We had a delightful server, however he also had to handle a large table of over 12 people were seated so as our meal progressed things were a little slower.
The food was lovely, the ambiance superb and the weather was very kind.
This is a favourite eatery for me.
Worst meal ever with an extremely inattentive server. I have had three other dinners at this restaurant in the past few months and it is usually quite good but this time was horrendous. Our server simply didn't care. She disappeared constantly (dessert arrived, after we sought her out, at least 15 minutes after she delivered the tea). The manager interjected himself into a conversation with the seating hostesses while we stood and waited to be seated (this was after another customer had already rudely interrupted us). My companion, a former resident of Whitehorse, ordered Arctic char - I've never seen such a scrawny, skinny, dry piece of fish in my life! And it cost almost $40! I deliberately ordered my halibut "very moist" but it also arrived extremely dry (neither of us came close to finishing our meals but the server didn't notice). I will not return despite its being walking distance from my home.
The atmosphere was great because the weather was nice as we sat outside. Service was slow and they ran out of prime rib. Otherwise, nice to sit and chat for several hours.
We were on an extended vacation and wanted to find a local restaurant with fresh seafood and the ambiance of dining on the waterfront. Dockside was all that and more. The food was fantastic, as was the wine and our cocktails. Service was stellar, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and non-intrusive. All in all, dinner at Dockside will be one of our many great memories from this trip.
little quibble: IPA was warm. Need to add a Beyond Burger to menu for vegans though not an issue for this visit. All-in-all, Deluxe!
This restaurant is in a fantastic Geanvill3 Island location very picturesque. Food is very good but nothing too memorable. Quite expensive. Only one rather boring vegetarian option.
When we arrived there was no record of our reservation. Reception staff was quite clueless and although there were clearly lots of empty table they made the 4 of us stand at the entry for 15 minutes while they bumbled around trying to figure out what to so. Not the best start to our evening there.
Very pleased with the overall service and ambience as well as the food. Check out my detailed review on TripAdvisor.
We went for dinner prior to the theatre. Fortunately, I had made a reservation for it was very busy, but with my reservation we were seated immediately. We had an outside table overlooking False Creek. Wonderful surroundings. Our waiter John was very knowledgeable and even recommended a wine which was slightly cheaper than the one I inquired about. The food was excellent and, though the restaurant is not inexpensive, it is in the Entertainment book. The coupon covered half the cost of the wine.
The crab cakes were fantastic and the coconut cheesecake great. A quiet location with a beautiful view. Leave the hustle and bustle of Granville Island and travel to the other side. Service staff were friendly.
The service was excellent. Sat outside....as it got cooler, the amazing heaters came on. Beautiful setting. Lovely dinner and drinks.
Superb view and outstanding food and service! Certainly one of the best patios in Vancouver.
