Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

We went to Dockside for our 10th Anniversary and everyone was aware of it, due to the message I sent through OpenTable. Amazing service, great food (the chowder is outstanding) and the price is not bad for a classy place like Dockside.
Beautiful location right on the water. Service was great and food arrived quickly. Definitely would recommend this restaurant especially if you have guests visiting as it showcases Vancouver’s picturesque waterfront.
Very nice atmosphere and service is excellent. The waitresses are very polite and courteous and let you feel at home. They would patiently answer your questions and give you good suggestions. The high ceiling is an attraction and the seating is spacious and you do not fell any pressure at all. Being by the water is another bonus and you feel extremely relax. The restaurant being inside a luxurious hotel adds its ambiance and you feel like to spend time enjoying.
Had read good reviews but experience was not good. Slow service by a waiter that seemed new to the role. Food was "okay" but not worth the $$$. Wine was good. Desert was abysmal: needed steak knife for what should have been chocolate. Overall very disappointing and will not ever go back.
Excellent food all around, great friendly service, peak dinner time is a bit loud, ambiance is great however. Well worth it for a nice gathering, date night or special occassion.
Amazing thanksgiving turkey dinner! Great service. The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious.
My son treated me to Thanksgiving dinner. The food was truly tasty - entree and dessert! The noise level was a little high but not too intrusive. Server was exceptional. Friendly, humorous, attentive and observant. Would certainly go back - particularly for a special occasion.
Amazing food quality and generous portions! Friendly staff but they seemed very busy to manage patrons, so plates sat on table for while before being cleared and no one came around to refill waters. But very friendly and helpful once we flagged them down.
Dockside is a special venue in terms of its location. The restaurant area is bright and modern with windows looking out onto False Creek. Very nice getaway. The server was extremely friendly, informative and attentive. My guests reported that their Thanksgiving meal was very tasty - I opted for SEAfood and a small caesar salad. The salad was delicious and so were the scallops with squid ink. The crab cakes looked very appetizing, but I was disappointed with their flavour and texture. I would hope the chef could 'liven' up the crab cakes and perhaps use more select pieces of Dungeness crab. The desserts were sensational. I would recommend Dockside for a friends get together or family meal. On the whole, I thought it was a good evening out. The server helped to make it a special night out!
Wonderful dinner. Food was delicious and servings generous. Service was exemplary particularly because we had 4 kids in our party and the server did a great job making sure the kids food came quickly and they had what was needed. Highly recommend
Came for thanksgiving dinner. Food was super delicious and our waiter Jules was the funniest! Everyone was super nice and the view was beautiful.
Wonderful. Host and waiter were great.
Our server Nathan was the ideal server! Super warm and friendly, attentive and knowledgeable but also gave us plenty of time to think and mull over options. Also treated very well for my boyfriend’s birthday!
The main drawback was a 20 min wait for our 7 pm reservation. Should have been offered a seat at the bar, not told to go for a walk. Otherwise food was excellent, portions a little small for some but fine for me. Waiter service was very good.
Went there for the view as I was entertaining out of town guests. Unfortunately unbeknownst to me the main dining room was closed for a private event. The staff were very apologetic but would have chosen a different venue with a view had I known.
Had a salad and pizza. Both were extremely salty.
It was my Mom’s and my first night staying at the hotel. Patrick was our waiter. What a super delightful man, and the perfect server! The service was impeccable and so was the food. Your restaurant is absolutely stunning, and I particularly loved the single yellow Gerber daisy on every table.
Would rate the restaurant higher but the main entrees were too salty- Salmon entree and the seafood spaghetti dish. The crab cakes were also too salty. Mussel and fries, fried squid appetizer and roasted cauliflower were all excellent. Service, ambiance, decor were also all great.
We went with friends. Too bad it was raining as we wanted to be on the patio. Otherwise, we had a good meal. Portions could be a little bigger on the entree or more sides.
Our server James was charming and informative. Unfortunately even though the halibut was delicious, the serving was so small! Our guests from Toronto and Australia were surprised at how small the meal was especially for the price!
Service and food was exceptional - will recommend
Staff were great.
Overcast day but seated by window so view is still good.
Met friends for an afternoon drink and appetizer: Pleased to have chosen Dockside Restaurant at Granville Island Hotel
Parents loved the food and view. Thanks for a great dining experience.
Every other time we are there the server has been awful ie poor service and attitude. Every other time it has been excellent. This time the server's attitude and service were awful. She made a mistake on my friend's entree. My halibut was so dry but I tried to eat it anyway but couldn't. My stomach hurt afterwards.
Excellent location away from the noisy end of Granville Island. Highly recommend this for lunch.
Nothing beats Dockside's patio for lunch with friends. It was my friend's birthday, which I told Dockside about in advance. I expected them to do something by way of a celebration, but unfortunately, they didn't.
We loved the food and service. The patio is outstanding and my favourite place to eat. The spring rolls and crab cakes are a favourite appetizer and I hope they are always on the menu. The waiter was friendly and gave us excellent service.
Fabulous place for views, atmosphere, appies, dining, beers....their hefeweizen is excellent!
I love the patio at the Dockside Restaurant! I'm pretty fond of the main (indoor) restaurant also, but I really love the patio. On a warm night in the summertime, there is no place I'd rather be than here. I was here recently for a business dinner and, as expected, the evening was spectacular. I must say, the service was not the fastest - it seemed like there was only 1 waiter for the entire patio - and 2 of us ordered draft beer that was flat and almost undrinkable, but the meal itself was awesome. The Crab Cakes and Beef Tenderloin that I ordered was perfect. Others at the table ordered pasta and halibut and they were equally impressed. BTW, the flat beers were removed from our bill, which was nice. All in all, another great evening at the Dockside Patio. I will be back!
Really enjoyed my lunch with a friend. Beautiful views of False Creek from the patio, but shaded and cool. They food was delicious. I particularly liked the gluten free squid with lemon grass and ginger- and would love to ask the chef for the recipe! Everything was piping hot. This is probably my favourite place for a lovely lunch.
it was a great experience ! Delicious food , super friendly service and beautiful scenery !
Had an awesome night there, would recommend. Amazing views.
Beer was crap no foam. Where we were sitting was really empty. They didn't give us the tables we wanted despite restaurant being half empty.
got to sit out on the patio for the first time and it was great.
I really enjoyed my time at dockside. It was very nice and relaxed. The service was great and the food was really good too. Not to mention the views.
Nice variety of options. Staff were very friendly and prompt.
Service, food, and drinks were lovely. I had asked for a seat on the patio side that had the lovely black n white curtains and outdoor fire pits, but we were seated on the shady, chilly patio side instead. We also had a extremely noisy table with screaming children sitting next to us, which made the afternoon far less enjoyable (neither parents nor staff were doing anything). Aside from that, the beer was tasty, the food portions are a bit small but excellent quality, and the service was a bit longer than normal. Incredible views!
Great service and fantastic food.
Portion was bigger than I expected, very good values.
Absolutely incredible date night! Wonderful servers and incredible food. Ambience is second to none as far as patios in the city. Coconut cheesecake dessert looked like it was made by Zumbo - delish.
The patio at Dockside is unparalleled in this city and the service staff friendly and professional. That being said, the food was definitely “hit and miss”. We ordered 5 appetizers to share among three people, the serving sizes were exceedingly small especially given the price point. The scallop appetizer consisted of only three small-ish scallops and a few bacon bits; flavour was good but not worth $21. Stay away from the shrimp it is the kitchen that needs improvement.
Beautiful place! Highly recommend
