Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
Please be advised that as we are 100% Open Air with no coverage from direct sun and or rain. In the event of rain all reservations will be moved into the main dining room without notice.
Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails.
The award-winning seasonal patio (patio closed November to March) catches sunlight from morning to afternoon and is an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek.
Whether dining inside or outside the views are stunning!

Food was not what I expected, description on the menu was different from what was served. Service was very good. Location excellent.
Great dining experience on the patio. Lots of fresh air, water view, and eventhough it was busy the place was fairly quiet!
Lovely food presentation and taste. We also had great service!
Came from out of city and had this restaurant on our visit list. The service was mediocre and our server only checked on us once throughout our experience, only coming by when noticing our plates were empty. Our food was alright, not what I expected but we did finish was we ordered as we were hungry and fought for a patio reservation days prior to sitting down. With how difficult it was to make a reservation onto the patio and with the recent renovations I had high hopes and they were just not met. It is sad to say I will not be back as the only pleasant thing was the view.
Sunny day on their fabulous patio. Lots of shade, beautiful views. We booked for Brunch and had no complaints. Food and service were also excellent with lots of variety on the menu. Tables well spaced. Staff maintaining good distance if unmasked and our waiter advised he was double vaccinated but still maintaining distance for safety of all.
Sunday brunch at Dockside. Great staff. Attentive but not pushy. Definitely try the breakfast frittata. We will be back soon
I requested a table by the water but did not get seated there. This was my second time being there. My first experience service was only decent and was expecting a better experience this weekend however service was still only okay. Not very attentive and waiters are awkward. Hostesses we’re super amazing and friendly! Food was delicious!
A perfect table and a lovely server.
The food was delicious and servings were plentiful.
My husband was a little disappointed not to find beer on tap, but not too terrible!
Great place, gorgeous view and delicious food! Definitely would recommend to anyone!
Fair place considering the location, menu should be more elaborated. Overall not bad
Great food (loved the shrimp salad toast)!
Only thing that I would suggest would be to have more dessert selection or a non-sugar dessert or sorbet available. Lots of great recipes for this type of dessert are available
Came to this restaurant for my birthday and I regret coming here! Firstly, the receptionist reminded the waiter that it was my birthday. I don’t know if they doing anything special but he forgot about it and didn’t wish me hbd. Second of all, he was so slow and we had to find him/get his attention every time we needed service. There was also a lady that was most likely the manager of the restaurant who was yelling at her employees. The vibe was off and they did not care about my table. Drove an hour to this restaurant and the only thing that was good about this restaurant was the patio view. Thanks for the terrible service on my birthday!
Spectacular view towards downtown, good size patio, accommodating service, and good food. Parking a bit of a challenge, but then this is Granville Island, so may have to drive around a bit to find a spot.
I have wanted to come to Dockside Restaurant for a long time. It exceeded my expectations! Thank you🤗
The restaurant offers an outstanding panorama view of false Creek and the docks. The ambience is nice and romantic. Service from Allan was great. Only thing disappointing was the food. We ordered the carpaccio, scallops, pork tenderloin and the clam pasta. We did not finish any of the plates as it was very subpar for the price. Overall a nice place to grab drinks but I would skip the mains.
Amazing as always. Beautiful views. Excellent service. Delicious food.
On a sunny day this is one of the best views in the city.
The lunch was delicious, service very good
Setting spectacular. Seating very comfortable. Ample umbrellas to block most of the sun. The only complaint is that our server was not wearing a mask. Everyone else on staff I noticed was masked. Our server was an older male. It made me very uncomfortable especially when he came close to take our order and serve food. I didn’t feel safe.
We each had a Niçoise salad, which was just the typical ingredients of this salad tossed in a bowl. The portions were small, not at all artfully presented and the taste was unremarkable. This is my second visit to the restaurant. The setting is beautiful but the quality of the food is just average or below and it is overpriced. Disappointing!
I have been to dine at Dockside many times & enjoyed it, of late however the menu seems a little more limited. I particularly miss the spring rolls.
Great food, very friendly, but poor service. First, the wrong drink was ordered for the birthday girl, then onions were omitted from the wrong salad (this was corrected), no dressing on two of the salads (also corrected) and no whipped cream on the dessert when specifically requested and it’s listed on the menu. To make up for all of this, it would have been an appropriate gesture to make the dessert complimentary, but they didn’t. Unfortunate.
The setting for Dockside is one of the best in Vancouver, with water and boats everywhere. The service is great. The menu selection is limited, however.
It was a windy day, so it was cool until they turned the heaters on. Their sitting priorities seems a bit weird as they seem to seat from the water back and did not allow early guests to get comfortable.
So lovely to sit and watch the water and boats from our table. Food was wonderful and out server Bam was excellent... a truly memorable time for my girlfriend's birthday celebration. Thank you all!
An inspired vegan alternative is necessary. Some vegetables, nuts and seeds - come on! Everyone else loved their food.
Very nice setting (patio). Food is good but portions are small.
Dockside is hands down the best patio in Vancouver! So serene and classy. Our server was excellent…he was very helpful, kind and accommodating.
Food is expensive and restaurant does not accept entertainment book coupon anymore. Ambience is excellent sitting on lounger under canopy with a view and sea breezes.
Beautiful view! Hummus very tasty! Menu limited.
One of the best waterfront patio dining in vanc .
I always find food and service enjoyable but in the Summer , patio dining is truly great.
Great patio, good food, poor service. I had emailed our experience to the restaurant and not even a reply. I am not impressed.
The only issue I had, is that we reserved a table at 10:00 a.m. Received confirmation from OpenTable that we were booked for 10:00 a.m. the day before and then somehow the reservation was changed to 12:15 p.m. after I had already confirmed showing up at 10:00 a.m. later that day. Because I had not checked my email after receiving the first confirmation, we arrived at 10:00 a.m. only to be told we now had a 12:15 p.m. reservation. They accommodated us well (thank you, as that was amazing) but not sure what happened with the Open Table reso...
Great location. Good local cuisine, with a very pleasant atmosphere.
We had a great night out on the patio. Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Great view, good food, perfect for weekend brunch!
Awesome experience as usual!!!
The vongole was really good. I was surprised when my trout arrived. It was the whole fish! It was moist and flavourful. We were satisfied with the food.
Our server didn't really come by our table often. He was more focused on the tables around us who were ordering lots of bottles of wine. He forgot about our requests and would only come when we flagged him down. That's too bad.
The ambience was pleasant as we were seated in the patio area and there was a nice breeze that day. One comment to busers to be careful when cleaning tables with spray bottles as the cleaning agent spray will go onto neighbouring table's food on a breezy day.
I ordered the Niçoise salad. The eggs were too runny to be eaten with lettuce and I asked if they could send me a hard boiled egg instead. They simply said: NO, we can’t do that!
I would not expect that treatment from a restaurant like the Dockside. I am in charge of bringing Visiting Professors at UBC and we always bring them to the Dockside ( for more than 15 years). Things have changed, unfortunately!
Great service and great location for a lovely lunch at Granville Island! We will be back!💕
