Drake Devonshire Inn
This is my third time. Service was not at the level expected for this type of restaurant.
Im a kind of big fan of Devonshire one, and it was awesome as it always has been.🙃
This was our second time at the Drake Devonshire and it is obvious that it is a place with a great view of the lake and nothing else.
The food quality is really sub par . We will not return.
I will start with the positive
-PEC soup good
_hummus with sour dough bread was very disappointing the sour sour was severed fried like a grilled cheese not fresh
The hummas was very dry
My husband had the hamburger and he said it had very little flavour and he’s a huge burger lover.
We were prepared to pay a little extra but the meal was certainly not worth the price.
Maybe it was an off day !!
I just love it here! And the addition of the Motor Inn has made The County a must visit in the summer! :)
Service was great. Beautiful restaurant and view. Food, however, took 2 hours to arrive and was either under or over cooked and heavily salted. Not worth the money. Brunch was a much better experience.
Food and service was excellent - wine was expensive! Beautiful location
Had a delicious hearty burger with a light, fluffy egg bun which made the whole thing so incredibly tasty. The pappardelle pasta is delicious as well! The ambiance is romantic and the Drake Devonshire is a beautiful venue overall.
Kerry and the rest of the staff at the Drake Devonshire were super accommodating and made us out-of-towners feel like home. SO GOOD that we came to visit twice in two nights!!
ps. Thanks for showing the Raptors game!!!!!!!!
Excellent service. Top notch cuisine. Impeccable views. They went over and above.
Horrible awareness by Host to put an Anniversary couple next to a gaggle of ladies. Groups should be next to groups...
Lovely to be by the Lake to see the waves, the sun and the sky. The hamburgers were tasty but not worth $22 each with okay fries which I paid $4 extra for a little sprinkle of cheese on top. We had two burgers, one salad, one small glass of wine and vanilla ice cream (which we waited 20 minutes for) and the bill was over $110.00 including tip.
Great first time out in PEC and dining at the Drake. Service was exceptional and food was delicious. We spent all evening enjoying happy hour drinks, dinner, dessert and post dinner live music in the lounge. We really enjoyed the pork chops and the burger, paired with drinks from local vineyards. Will definitely come back to try to waffles and chicken for brunch...
Great food, service, and atmosphere! Really can't ask for much more in terms of a dining experience. Would highly recommend to eat here if you're in PEC.
It was very nice, our servers were pleasant, helpful and efficient. Food was very good, we had 3 different versions of Eggs Benedict(ham, salmon & mushroom). Started with a delicious champagne and grapefruit mimosa and enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay with lunch. View is spectacular and staff are very enthusiastic about taking a photo of the group.
Been going there every summer, have not been disappointed.
We visited the Drake Devonshire to celebrate our anniversary and were blown away by the service, ambience, food and general experience. Highly recommend The Drake Devonshire for a special night out!
Seemed like a cool place. Food was ok. Would give it a second try.
Great experience with a lovely view
Firstly, the Drake Devonshir is a beautiful boutique hotel tucked away near the shores of Lake Ontario. The views are impressive and I imagine deep into the summer season it's way more beautiful. We had a great experience, loved he ambiance and the environment. Our waitress and bartender were fantastic, putting on a great conversation with fantastic customer service skills.
My only gripe is the food was mediocre. I got the beef burger, and it was overcooked. Hard pieces and tough to chew. My wife got the vegetarian burger which was delicious (we shared halves of our burgers). For the price we expected a bit more attention to the food but it is what it is. If I do return in the future, I would probably come for the brunch instead.
Our visit at Drake Devonshire was enjoyable but there was room for improvement. Upon arrival we were told that we had to be finished by a specific time because they needed our table for another party. I thought that was rude and set the tone that we could not relax, take our time and enjoy the experience. We had a table that was along the window although only one of us could really enjoy the view of the lake as the other had their back to the window. Where we were seated, it felt a bit like a hallway as we were in the middle of 2 server stations and in between 2 larger dinning areas. Servers were quickly walking back and forth between the two areas which gave off the vibe of being rushed and not a relaxing dinning experience. We both ordered the steak, one medium well and the other medium rare. Both came out over done. Our server (I wish I remembered her name- she was the one that studied Wine in Italy) was excellent and noticed that they were not cooked to our liking before we could even say anything. She apologized and brought them back to the kitchen without hesitation. Once they were cooked to our liking the Chef approached our table, introduced herself, and apologized for the mistake. This I thought was a nice personal touch. Following dinner, we were able to bring the remainder of our wine outside on the patio and enjoy the view of the lake. Although it was a chilly night in May, it was my favourite part of the visit.
Everything was great. Can’t beat the view and the people are wonderful. Foos is very good. A bit expensive for some things. Will be back.
The view is really the main attraction! The food and service were both okay.
Overall a pleasant experience . The knowledge and character of the staff was great and the setting lovely.
The fish ( trout) was lovely on two orders but the steak on two orders was somewhat tough and done a bit more then ordered.
The appetizers were all good. The portion on the trout dinner was very small.
Great location! Interesting menu, however significantly overpriced. Good selection of wine and local craft beer. Blueberry scones with homemade jam were a hit
Beautiful setting, excellent ambiance and delicious food. The service was exceptionally friendly.
I was disappointed with my experience at the Drake Devonshire Inn. I called one month in advance to reserve a table for two for my girlfriend's birthday, and specifically asked to be seated either outside, or at a nice table, both in my online reservation, and when I called to confirm over the phone.
I was disappointed when they sat us at the side of the restaurant near the service area... When I asked to be moved they said that was not possible despite the numerous tables for two that were available in the main area of the restaurant. I then watched them seat couples who came in after us at these tables. I did not feel like we were treated equally to other patrons of the restaurant.
Additionally, the food was overrated and over priced.
The servers however, were delightful, and the drinks were very good. The atmosphere in the main area of the restaurant was also nice, despite us not being seated there.
My daughter and I spend two days at the Inn and had a fantastic time. It all started with the special welcome at reception when our host showed us around all the amenities at the Inn so we felt right at home. The Inn is very quaint but also super chic and cool. Special note was I left my blazer behind in the room and the hotel offered to ship it to the Drake in Toronto free of charge - above and beyond!
Love weekend brunch at the Drake Devonshire! Great view, wonderful food and delicious Caesar’s!
We celebrated a birthday and closed off a great weekend in PEC with a delicious brunch at the Drake. I would highly recommend adding this to you “must do” list!
We were underwhelmed with our dining experience here. The staff were unprofessional, the menu uninspired, and the wine list (by the glass at least) was lacking. I think the Mexican restaurant on the Main Street is a real winner in comparison, and sadly, I would not return to The Drake.
View and location beautiful but food does not live up to hype. La Condesa in Wellington is a far better dining experience.
Host and GM made the experience awkward.
Our server was really attentive, friendly, and had helpful suggestions. The view from our table over the lake was perfect!
Excellent venue, very different very hip, but honestly $13.00 for a mimosa. Little over the top don’t you think. And no I am not cheap nor and I am short of cash. But come on. Let’s be realistic. That price is a bit off. But sadly despite your overprices I will be back.
Everyone told us it was a must do, but we were really underwhelmed, especially after all the hype. The restaurant was nice, and the view was beautiful, if you are looking for a trendy vibe than this may be the place for you. The food was good, but nothing special. Was a little disappointed when the server highly recommended an item they had never tried, it was misleading and ended up being a disappointment because they lacked the proper details.
Lakeside setting with abundance of glass, very quaint lighting and colours. Food was a high standard and everything cooked perfectly.
Friendly and casual ambience. A beautiful setting on Lake Ontario. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the Drake Benny, eggs Benedict, and my husband enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles. There was plenty of food and it was served hot and promptly.
We have been several times for both brunch and dinner and always enjoy going back.
We had A beautiful view of Lake Ontario. The food, drinks and atmosphere made for A lovely brunch.
Nice place but too expensive. A glass of wine for $18? This is exaggeration. Especially in the wine country like PEC! Nothing special for the price.
