Drake Devonshire Inn
View and ambiance was great. Service wasn’t very attentive...drinks not checked on, food timing w kids meals and main meals was quite delayed.
Too bad as the space really is quite impressive and we were really wanting to enjoy the entire experience.
Amazing ambiance, restaurant is right on the water, with eclectic art all around, loved the view! A very well designed restaurant. Our service was VERY slow, but it may have been a one off situation (although they weren’t that busy). The food was pretty good, mildly overpriced but I think you’re really paying for the view and experience there. Would go again.
A lot of grease at the bottom of my plate, eggs and potatoes not cooked enough. Only one toast. When the basics are misses, it's disappointing.
The beans and breakfast sausages were really good. Ambiance and decor is perfect. Overpriced.
Great restaurant and really amazing location. Only issue is that the kitchen seems to be really, really slow. The wait between courses was quite a bit longer than usual.
Beautiful view! Great service! Food was very good but it is pricey.
Food and atmosphere is good! Service is terrible the food took well over an hour and I spent 16 dollars on a glass of wine when I could have had happy hour wine for 5 dollars or cocktails. I was never given the happy hour menu. Overall wasn’t a good experience.
Endroit magnifique! Staff sympathique, efficace et courtois. Nourriture excellente et très bonne portion. Une belle découverte en famille! Que dire de la terasse et la plage de Gallet juste en bas.
Lovely dinner outdoors. Good wine by glass offerings and fish chowder was great!
Aweful service, would never go back!!!
Our server, Allie, was wonderful. She gave us some great recommendations for local wineries to visit. Very warm and friendly!
Awesome food, great service. Little pricey so unfortunately can’t be an every Sunday visit but nice for a treat out
Gorgeous setting and food was great. We will return.
The wine prices are too high. I had a glass of wine from the county and it was $25. Too much.
Great location with fantastic views and wonderful food. We’ll be back!
Very nice place to eat great food & wine with the family!
Restaurant is very worn and needs updates. Also restaurant had a very strong cleaning fluid odor and we had to reseated outside.
Loved everything about it. The perfect setting outside on the patio on a summer day, listening to the waves lap on the shore. The food was wonderful, as usual. Tried the sea-cuterie appetizer and was not disappointed. My daughter said the burger was the best she has ever had. An experience you just cannot beat.
Great views and food!
We had a fabulous lunch at the Drake Devonshire. All the meals were very good and the service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance was great as was the view over West Lake. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Kristin was the best! She made our experience worth the 3 hour drive.
We were looking forward to try this restaurant while we were in Wellington. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. Our appetizers were decent (we had the charcuterie board and Caesar salad) but we only received 4 small pieces of bread with the charcuterie and had to ask for more. We were very disappointed in the main course. Our food arrived cold - not luke warm, cold. One person in our group received the wrong meal. When she asked about it, they were good about correct the error but it was another 15 mins before she got her meal. Also, our waitress never checked in with us after bringing our food.
When we received the bill we were surprised to see that they charged us for the extra bread. Seriously? First, we were never told there would be a fee for the bread. We have never been charged extra for bread at other restaurants. Given the mix up with the meal, and the service we thought it would have been a nice gesture to offer it complimentary. I can honestly say that we will not be going back and we definitely would not recommend it to others. Spend your money elsewhere.
My wife and I came for our anniversary. The visit started off well; our server was friendly and took our order in a reasonable time.
I ordered the pork chop and my wife ordered the summer corn cavatelli. The first issue was that we ended up receiving our food at 7:10 when we placed our order at around 6:15. This was an extremely long time to wait, especially considering my wife is 7 months pregnant. The table that was beside us had four guests and they received their meal at the same time as us, despite arriving 10-15 min after we ordered. I'm not sure what happened but no one took responsibility for this.
Regarding the food quality, the pork chop was flavourful and well cooked. My wife's dish was a completely different story. The cavatelli was bland, had a total of three grape tomatoes in the dish and little to no seasoning. The dish was a massive disappointment for her and I ended up giving her half my meal.
Based on the experience, I would explore other restaurant options next time I'm in Prince Edward County.
We had one server who was friendly but then we moved outside and our server wasn’t friendly at all, didn’t seem interested in her job at all. The food was way over priced and quality was just average. Not very many menu choices that seemed appealing at their price point (lunch menu) and the so called “happy hour” menu was very limited without having any real desirable items.
The breakfast was delicious and very nicely plated. The morning view of the waterfront was amazing! We will definitely be back!
The patio is lovely and the view is outstanding. We went for brunch and the music was also great, it was relaxed and help create a great ambience. The food left something to be desired - the coffee was weak, the food took forever to arrive, and when it did it was diner quality at best. The fruit I ordered was visibly moldy. The eggs super greasy and the bacon undercooked. The homemade bread was good. Overall the service was decent although inconsistent - the table next to us was brought scones because their wait for food was so long, but we waited much longer, as did the table on the other side of us, and there was no mention of even an apology for the wait much less scones. That all being said - you aren't going here for the food, you are going for the atmosphere and the view - so enjoy that!
We arrived early and were seated inside as there were no seats available for 2 outside. The mojito was just ok and beer options were limited. Our waitress was friendly but informed us that many menu items were unavailable bc it was a busy weekend. Our shared summer salad appetizer was delicious and arrived within 15 minutes. We waited 40 minutes for our mains. The scallops and grits were bland and my husband’s steak was well done when he asked for medium rare. The waitress fixed this immediately and was apologetic. When I reserved this on open table I indicated that this was an anniversary meal. No mention of this was made or complimentary beverage was offered. The bill was $142 for 2 drinks, one app, and 2 mediocre mains. Will not be going here again, despite the beautiful view.
Love the view
We had a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary, we had great service and we are looking forward to come back soon
The Drake Devonshire Inn is a lovely spot to visit in the summer. We were able to snag a seat that overlooked the water. It was a warm sunny day and with our seating we got such a nice breeze from the lake. From the moment we arrived we experienced great service. The hostess was warm and our waitress was friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. We were there for brunch and the food turned out great! I had eggs benny with salmon and my partner had a burger and fries. We both enjoyed our meals very much. I also loved the music playing in the background, it added to the ambiance but wasn't too loud. I would highly recommend making the trip to this restaurant, it is so worth it!
A very nice ambience and vibe. A great place to go with girlfriends or a date night. The food was just alright but fairly priced. But might I say, the friendliness and service were amazing the drinks were delicioussss!
Overall a nice experience and worth a visit while you're in P.E.C!
Our meal was very good. Service was excellent. The strawberry shortcake dessert was not traditional and very good.
Beautiful day the patio was splendid. Found the menu limited and the cutlery was so dull when I tried to cut a cherry tomato it squirted all over me. Other than that the pasta was quite good. Our waiter was great.
Shrimp and Grits - bland, extremely small portions for the price.
Fish and Chips - overbreaded.
Drake Fries were soggy.
Excellent food! Homemade pasta, salads and dessert - apple pie with miso butterscotch ice cream - all delicious!
Great service! Very attentive and efficient waiter. We were 3 friends and waiter made us taste two wines so we could order the most suitable bottle to our tastebuds. Most appreciated!
Beautiful view but really disappointing food. Caesar salad was bland and boring with cold chicken that had zero seasoning and the pickerel was bland, greasy and the greens were under cooked and extremely tough. Good for a cocktail and the sights, but there are plenty of other places in the county to get way better meals.
Great service and stunning patio
Expensive & slow for what it is, but friendly and fun vibe.
Wonderful experience all around. Excellent service, food and view.
Spectacular location/ vibe not so great customer service
