Drake Devonshire Inn
Perfect place to celebrate your anniversary!
first visit, service started off a little slow but the bartender was awesome. Definitely going back
Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you!
We’ve been coming to the Drake for years and have always enjoyed our dining experiences. Tonight was no exception, we love the Drake Devonshire!!
We enjoyed our night at the Drake overall. I was not aware that there would be no seating, and that it was more of a party/cocktail setting. Nevertheless, the food and drinks were excellent!!
The decor and view was lovely. The food was cold and was not as good as expected.
I had the veggie burger and not impressed. It was not like a burger at all. But everything else seemed great!
Just popped in for drinks and a burger. It was nice as per the norm. Fantastic view.
Great brunch with friends visiting the area
In an area known for outstanding restaurants the Drake delivers, but also seems to have a reputation that it rests on.
Our first time at the Drake Devonshire did not disappoint! We spent our mini honeymoon in the county and made sure we carved out some time for the highly recommended Drake Devonshire. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by warm, friendly staff, the most romantic atmosphere, and plenty of surprises to make us feel special. The food and wine were absolutely to die for! Highly recommend and we cannot wait to come back!
We were on our way to a wedding and had lunch here. Excellent food and service! The view of the lake for November with waves rolling in was spectacular.
I will return in the summer to try to get a seat in the patio.
Quality food and presentation. Excellent service and professional yet with an absolute attention to every detail with the perfect balance of warmth and niceness...something restaurants either fall on the far end of nice which is phoney or inappropriate to dismissive and inattentive. They hit the mark on attentiveness without being annoying...well trained and standard across staff.
My daughter and I had a lovely evening at the Drake Devonshire last Friday. The food was great and the service was excellent. Will definitely return
Relaxed, attentive, timely service and great menu. Nice setting on the lake’s day very conveniently located in town close to shops, galleries, and accommodation.
Food good except that it was very cold which spoiled it. Service corrected it.
We didn’t stay at the hotel, but we enjoyed a beautiful, quiet, and charming brunch. The food was delicious and our service was great.
After finally getting the chance to dine at the Drake Devonshire this past weekend, I have to admit I have mixed reviews. I made a reservation almost a month prior for a table for six. When we arrived, our table was ready, but it was way off to the side, completely out of the main dining area. For a group of ladies getting together to enjoy a good meal in the county, this was very disappointing - especially given our long standing reservation. We ordered the countylicious special, which was quite delicious and included a good variety of food choices. However, upon ordering, some of our party ordered a specific dessert - with no apparent issues. When dessert time came around, we were told there were no more of that dessert left - this was disappointing, given we had ordered it initially and it was countylicious which includes there dessert choices - to run out of one of three on a Saturday night seems like poor planning. Though service was fine, we were never asked if we wanted another beverage throughout the meal. I expected more from this establishment. I am wiling to try again, but when someone has a reservation for six a month ahead, give them a great table. Thank you.
Overpriced to be missing the mark on food. Half dozen oysters for $23 and two were inedible because of a lousy shuck. If I wanted a rock sandwich Is ask my son to cater.
Awesome place. The view is outstanding. Food is good. They have to work on their drink or hired a bartender. We live close and enjoy this place. Ambiance is great, staff is friendly. The Drake have a little something special ❤️
Thanks for making our anniversary so special. Darren was amazing.
Beautiful ambiance and setting. Food took a long time. Food was good, but not as good as expected or we had heard about. Brussel sprouts were excellent! I think it was too expensive for what it was. The meat portion was very small.
Service was too slow, and bacon was poor. Lovely place overall, but wasn’t up to Drake standards based on previous experiences at all their restaurants.
Hey Katie! Thank you for your attention to detail!
Have been before and really enjoyed it. But this time it felt very impersonal, very Toronto in PEC rather than letting the county vibe be front and centre. Our server was very distant and uninterested and didn’t give us a sense of excitement about the food or wine. Won’t go again on future trips and will focus on the restaurants that feel like they are part of the community.
We've eaten here a number of times in all seasons. Each time, we've left feeling like we truly had a memorable and special outing. The ambiance is incredible, the food always delicious, and the staff is top-notch. It's pricey but definitely worth it. We'll keep coming back and recommending it constantly to friends and family.
Gorgeous location, friendly staff, excellent food, and a good selection of local wines. Definitely would come back.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. The service was fabulous and the food first-class
So disappointed, been there many times, this time invited friends and it was awful. food took over an hour to come and was cold. True we didnt complain because we were so hungry by that point, and didnt want to make a bad experience worse.
Shame the menu is exactly the same as the Toronto restaurant.
We arrived 30 minutes early to find our table was ready. In fact there were at least 4-5 empty tables, begs the question why we could not book before 9 pm.
Atmosphere was great along with service.
Food was unacceptable.
The Chef should be embarrassed
3 couples for lunch .. inside as it was a bit windy and less than 20c .. we all had different meals and all very happy with the outcome ... no left overs as we hoovered it all since it was so good. our waitress was great to deal with our food sensitivities and also chatted with us about things to do in the neighborhood .. great experience overall.. THANK YOU !
We planned our dinner to fall within the hour of sunset which was so beautiful!
I am not sure I would go back
Fantastic visit to The Drake for Thanksgiving this year! The location is prime with the best water view in eastern Ontario, in my opinion. The staff were amazing and our meal was out of this world!
Can’t wait to go back. Next time for a weekend getaway at the Inn.
I had brunch on Thanksgiving Monday and the service wasn’t great. It was a steady morning of customers but I was able to see that the staff/waiters had the time to come check back at our table to see if we needed refills or anything but did not come over to my table for over an hour. After we were served our meals we were asked by the waitress if we needed anything else and I asked for more coffee. Which never came nor did our waiter until we were done our meals and at that point we were ready to pay and leave. The restaurant has a great spot on the shores of Lake Ontario however the quality of service of the staff is lacking.
Went for brunch but they weren’t starting that menu for another 45 minutes. Was a shame to not be offering it on a long weekend. The food we ordered was tasty, the Drake Breakfast especially was a good choice. The atmosphere and venue were beautiful and left us feeling very happy. Also, not the worlds best coffee, but definitely better than anything else in PEC.
Good food. Great place to discover some local wines. Nice view.
Great food, great staff, outstanding view of the lake
The hip Drake Devonshire looks the part but fails to deliver and on both service and, more importantly, it’s cuisine. Visiting PEC for the Thanksgiving weekend seemed to necessitate a Sunday lunch at the Drake. The limited brunch menu (which seems a copy of its Toronto haunt) was both unimaginative and unremarkable. Its kitchen product, equally so. Service was mediocre to meh. The only thing that was extraordinary was the bill...larger than warranted.
There are other options in the area to experience and utilize your hard earned dough.
