The brunch food was good but unfortunately our waiter got our order wrong so many times that it detracted from the overall experience. He later admitted he normally didn't work the brunch shift and misunderstood our orders. It happens, but for it being our first time eating here (we've been here for music/drinks) we likely won't be dying to come back.
Food was great, service was excellent. Only complaint was music too loud to have a conversation.
One of the most amazing Brunches in Toronto. Definitely overrated and their pancakes are to die for. Drinks? Well, they pair perfectly with the vibes here! The rooftop patio is a must go!
I love brunch at the Drake Hotel. Everything was perfect. Our brunch was delicious. Best hollandaise sauce, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs! Service was great. Maybe a little slow, but whenever I looked around, someone came to the table right away. Also, the front desk helped me with printing my game tickets, when we realized we forgot ours at home. I can’t wait to go back.
Good food and vibes - nothing special, but solid. Poor service - slow and forgetful.
Always enjoy this restaurant. Food is good, fun atmosphere.
Service was not good but everything else was nice. Servers were rude and put my guests in uncomfortable cross hairs as they tried to figure out who was actually serving us as we waiting 15+ minutes at our table before being greeted.
Delicious food but service was very slow. Sunday brunch is a busy time and I feel they weren't adequately staffed.
Exceptional food and great service. Relaxed atmosphere.
We had made reservations a month prior to celebrate our engagement. When we arrived we were told a large party was booked and that we had to be seated in the cafe, which was not the atmosphere we were going for. We had ordered a shot of tequila to start our night and it took the wait staff over 20 minutes to find the tequila we ordered and we ended up receiving it after our appetizers and without salt or lemons. The food tastes good but the portions were very odd. I ordered fish and was given one small piece where my fiance ordered fried chicken and recieved five large pieces, what was strange was that the fried chicken cost less than the fish. As well we were excited to try a few of their cocktail but we're let down as they were not that great in our opinion. Finally, when I made the reservation I noted that we would be celebrating our engagement and not one of the waitstaff mentioned this during our meal. I was not expecting a lot but a simple "congratulations" would have been nice.
We were very excited to go to The Drake Hotel as we had heard wonderful things about it, but we were very let down by the entire experience.
Wait staff was friendly and responsive. Food was good.
I’ve been to the Drake many times and have had great experiences but this time was different.
Our server was incredibly awkward and seemed unorganized. It took a while to receive our drinks to start with. Once we got our meals, he never came to ask us how our meals were - I had the pancakes and wish I was told by him when I ordered, how thick & large they were, I would have ordered something else. It was simply unenjoyable.
He didn’t bother clearing our dirty plates when we were finished & asked for our bills.
Overall, super unimpressed. I hope when I return I do not have the same server.
I came here with my family for brunch. I think we chose the wrong place because the noise level was so loud that the small group of us found ourselves yelling at each other across the table. I was quite thrown off by the noise - I'm all for loud bubbly conversation, but this had me on the brink of tinnitus (likely due to the 3 birthday parties stationed at the back). The food was honestly not good still trying to figure out what all the hype is about. The salmon on my drake benny came cooked through and tasted like someone dumped a tablespoon of sugar on it (feel like most people would expect lox when they order this menu item) to make matters worse my english muffin was barely toasted. The most concerning of all is how filthy it felt in there. The bathrooms were appalling from the party the night before and the floors all throughout the space may as well have been mopped with dirty old beer water on its 12th use. The staff were lovely but I can't say I'll be back to eat here.
Awesome experience - amazing food and waiters were friendly and kind. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the snow crab toast for an appetizer. I had the drake burger and my girlfriend had the steak frites - both were delicious. Highly recommend the brown butter beurre blanc for the steak frites and the truffle fries for the burger! Will definitely be back
The Drake Hotel was one of my favorite experiences in Toronto! A friend and I dined here for our birthdays. The chicken and waffles were great, and the good music made the overall experience that much more enjoyable. I was not a fan of the scones. I highly recommend the corner table on the platform near the window for the best view in the house.
The most scrumptious pancakes ever! Served with a an incredible maple cream topping and all enjoyed against a trendy and brilliant setting.
Amazing brunch. Owen the host, was very friendly and makes a mean latte. Will be back!
Super hip place for brunch. DJ, Caesars, Drake and Bake!
Went here on a Sunday for brunch with my family. The music (DJ) was cranked so high we were yelling over the base pumping through the room. Is this necessary?? I want to catch up with my family over a great meal, not have breakfast in a nightclub. I had a headache by the time we left and will not go back. The food here is always a let down and the greeting at the front door always makes me feel like I’m inconveniencing the staff by simply telling them I have a reservation. Way over rated.
Pricey but great food! It was a nice place to go to for brunch on a Saturday
We have been here several times and generally like it. This time, however, the service wass mediocre, the 2 orders with eggs over easy were badly overcooked, the bacon was underdone and the hollandaise was unappetizing. We will be trying other restaurants in the future.
Pretty good. Food was a bit cold and not enough servers at brunch on Sunday.
We waited 20-30 minutes for our mains. Then they arrived cold. $400+? No thanks.
My food was (pork chop) was very undercooked and by time I saw server again my 5 guests had almost finished their dinner. I was still charged for the very rare pork chop. This was disappointing for an otherwise great nite.
Amazing service! We loved our server. The food was delicious too.
Great, just really loud.
I decided in less then 24hrs to book Drake, as I had heard about it, Business and Pleasure were on the agenda.
I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with the Hotel and Restarant overall, Great Job!
The Creativity of the Hotel walls and random artifacts everywhere was pretty different from what Im used to, I liked it.
From the time I pulled up, to the time we left, the service was excellent! The Room was clean, the bed and pillows were cozy, loved the shower pressure and products.
Everyone on the team was helpful, polite and friendly. Food was yummy and the drinks great. Music, Dancing, Atmosphere and Crowd were a Perfect mix, close walk to some alternative options in the area.
I really wasn't sure what to expect, if anything just average an place and service, but I did not receive anything close to this...all 5 Stars only.
We made sure to take care of the staff and say our good byes....for now.
Cheers Drake Team👍
With some of the music playing, it's a bit loud for conversation.
We went for dinner before a concert in the Underground. As usual we were welcomed and seated right away. The server was soon at the table to ask about drinks and speak to the menu. Wine was what we wanted but we watched as many around us enjoyed their cocktails. We shared the big green salad and the mixed mushrooms. The mushrooms were earthy and a lovely complimen to the salad. The salad was made from grated cabbage and carrot with ginger. It was unexpected and the Asian influence made it a standout. Light dinners of seafood chowder full of fish and flavour and a perfectly cooked hamburger finished the meal. Throughout the service was attentive. The noise level is always pretty high in the dining room section with groups of 4 or 6 having drinks and food with friends
Best veggie sushi! Sooo fresh and crispy!
Hummus was amazing, and freshly made.
Great quality food and ambiance!!!
Good place to go for drinks not food
Fun vibe. I had a cocktail called Ginger something? Delicious!
Super nice and attentive waiter.
We had a great time.
Food was good but food was slow arriving
It was not very busy so didn’t understand why
Went to the drake for a bachelorette party, couldn’t of been happier. Our table was in the corner, very comfy booth with pillows. It was on a Wednesday night, music was too loud so we could enjoy eachother. Our food took a while however, but the waitress gave us free bubbles!! She was great and very accommodating. Thanks!!
Brunch was outstanding. Gin Gin Mule was so refreshing. Pancakes were the best I've had.
Food was great. Good vibes
We went to Trivia night. Was good fun. Food was okay not brilliant.
Stopped by the Drake Hotel on Queen st this past Sunday for a brunch get-together . I have been a few times and truly....each visit I think the food gets better. Waffles and Chicken...are outstanding. The Eggs-Benny....looks great...although I didn't get a chance to taste... the staff work as team to ensure you are seated, watered and coffee'd....the food delivery was also done in a timely manner. My only 'issue' is with the after several refills....the waitstaff seems to disappear......seems to be an interesting time to let the customer search for the waitstaff.....way too close to the 'payment'....and the addition of the 'tip'...just sayin....and will still be back soon.
Great service for our family with two 7 year olds- great food and ambience.
