Drake One Fifty
Sunday Brunch with live jazz- excellent food and ambiance! A must do when I’m in Toronto
Great service and the Brussels sprouts were to die for! We enjoyed sitting at the bar for a drink and then moving to our table for dinner! Great atmosphere
Selected Drake 150 for pre-theatre drinks and apps and partially to take advantage of the happy hour menu advertised on their website.
While the food and cocktails were excellent, we had some issues with the service. After arriving and deciding to order from the happy hour menu (that was definitely not mentioned to us when we sat down)our server came back to tell us that as of yesterday they didn’t offer happy hour in the dining room anymore and that they “just changed it”. She would honour or first round of drinks to be nice, but we couldn’t order from it again. We didn’t fully believe this was the truth but didn’t want to push the issue or make a scene, but we both got the distinct impression that we were trying to be upsold at every interaction with her to max out the value of our table. After finishing 3 heavy apps it was “ok are you ready for dinner now?” And then another push to order dessert after declining on dinner.
While friendly, we weren’t really made to feel comfortable or really valued as customers who still spent well over $100 on apps and cocktails in an hour when the restaurant was mostly empty before the dinner rush began.
We could have gone anywhere before the show and we chose the Drake 150. It’s unlikely we’ll come back after this experience despite the great food quality and yummy cocktails. There are just too many other options out there.
Main server was not the happiest but others made up for it.
Food was really good. Music too loud for over 50 set
Great atmosphere. The food and service were excellent.
terrible service, way too noisy for brunch time - no need for live music at this time of day
The food was fine- but we were sitting so close to the neighbouring tables it made getting in and out a challenge. Add the noise level (difficult to hear), and dim lighting, (I needed my flashlight to read the menu), I will not return.
There is a nice selection of food, which is well presented and generally good.
The location and ambience are great and the staff solicitous without being intrusive.
The wine list is over-priced and could do with a refresh.
The best brunch I have ever had
Neil was our waiter. Great service and personality
Amazing!!! The only thing better than the unbelievable food was the service. Can’t wait to go back!
Great atmosphere, although a bit noisy, great service, with friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Will return!
The service could not have been better. It was professional, friendly and everyone was very accommodating. Food and drinks were great. I was very satisfied and impressed by the high level of service.
Majority of the items on the menu was sold out, very frustrating. Service was slow.
The vibe was great but I was underwhelmed by the food. The black cod was quite good but a bit underwhelming on flavour. The calamari was mediocre. Drinks were great. Service was great.
Didn't have chicken salad, a very common item, available on the menu. Especially when they have only approx 6 lunch items on menu, this was disappointing
Delicious food. Excellent service. A must try! We’ll be back for more.
I’d made a reservation for 3 and we were uncomfortably squeezed into a table for 2
The menu isn’t what it used to be. Our server was not welcoming. Our charcuterie board came on a place just slapped together and messy. With no bread. Steak overcooked. Just the food has changed so much and how they serve it again terrible. I used to love coming here but don’t think I will be back.
Wouldn't go back. Food descriptions on the menu do not match what you actually get. Very disappointing.
Lacklustre, small portions, bland mocktail but tasty cocktail, adequate service, had to shout to be heard.
Love The Drake, and will go back, but I’ll wait a season or two before doing so.
The main courses were considered by all to be bland and uninspiring. Thank god they had a decent wine list. Overpriced springs to mind. That said the desserts were amazing!
Extremely disappointed with service. It took over 20 minutes to get two glasses of wine. We had to ask twice about our meals, after explaining that we had to leave by a certain time. I understand that it was busy however, that is no excuse for poor service.
In addition, i was just as disappointed with my salad. The menu stated the salad had figs, pears and walnuts. The salad had a sliver of pear, two of the smallest pieces of fig and three walnuts. That was a very weak salad, I think unacceptable. When I asked the server she said it was a new menu and they were still adjusting.
Nice menu. Welcoming and pleasant staff.
We had one Forager pizza - really nice crust, well prepared and tasted good.
Second order was the black cod. All the components were super fresh and good quality but it was bland. Not sure if it was lack of salt, but it required condiments to make it good.
I would try Drake 150 again because all the components should have made for a great meal, but it was just okay.
We really enjoyed the Drake 150 evening. Service was top notch, food quality was excellent, location suburb. We were a bit rushed on time as we were going to the Leaf game, but our server took great care of our time constraints and made everything work. My only negative comment were the 9oz glasses of decent wine were very expensive at around $25/glass depending on the wine, however, they do have $5 - 5oz house wine during Happy Hour. Oh well welcome to Toronto. Regards,
The server was terrible. The food was worse and over priced at that. Will never return.
Poor quality of food for the “Get Stuffed” Thanksgiving promotion. Disappointing.
If my GF says she likes it, that means it’s pretty damn good.
The pre-fixed Thanksgiving menu was dull and tasteless. One of the glasses of wine that was served was not the one that was ordered. Overall it was just not worth the money.
The food wasn't good. But the manager took care of it which was nice.
I would not go back.
Awesome food, one of the best in Toronto, specially the seafood. Waitress was super nice, they forgot to bring one of the plates but brought it as soon as we asked about it. Would 100% recommend/ come back. The price is a little above other places but you get what you pay for, and I think it was totally worth it.
Dinner was excellent and the courses were well timed. The server was exceptional: professional, well informed and a great sense of humour.
We went to Drake One Fifty for brunch and the food was great. It was a really friendly environment as well.
This particular meal wasn't as awesome as previous visits because of a mild chemical aroma coming through the vents due to some work being done underground. Other than that, the cocktails and food were delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the Tomato Salad, hummus and truffle fries as appetizers before moving on to the Steak Frites, Gnocchi, Salmon and two burgers. The Drake Burger was perfect and I wouldn't have changed a thing. The Salmon was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The Gnocchi was a bit too al dente for our guest, unfortunately. We should have returned it but we got carried away with discussion. Overall, the meal was tasty and the service was with a smile. If the chemical (paint?) aroma wasn't there, I would've given this five stars.
Good food. A little bit noisy
I would suggest you don't go here for food.
Drinks are good
Food wasn’t that great. Service was normal. Just another topical Toronto downtown restaurant.
The atmosphere is great, and it was a reunion with a friend I haven’t seen for a bit so we were in great moods. The service and drinks were awesome, but I didn’t love the food. The cinnamon buns were chewy and dry and... not cinnamon-y at all? Not at all what I expected. Have already been back (for drinks the next day!) and would still recommend it, but will not be ordering those again!
The Drake benedict was delicious. Lots of yummy ham and the hollandaise included mustard for some nice flavor. We also had the Drake Breakfast which kept us full all day long. Live music for brunch is always a plus.
