We had Thanksgiving reservations, and when we arrived we were seated in "the extended dining room" which was a small meeting room with no windows. They tried to decorate it... but even the table and chairs were obviously not for dinning. We asked to move to the Grill room where we were confirmed, and after a few tries we were moved. The service was exceptionally slow, even though they weren't yet busy. The turkey dinner was mediocre at best. We had such high hope for such a beautiful property as the Driskill ... but we were disappointed with our Holiday experience.

Emily is the best server I have had the pleasure of waiting on me and my girlfriend in a very very long time….. extremely knowledgeable, well spoken and made us feel right at home! She gave perfect advice on which wine and drinks to pair with what food. On the food, we came back a second night after being disappointed so we have now tried the Braised short ribs, venison, filet mignon, and roasted duck, all excellent dishes with wonderful flavor and contrasting textures!

The Driskill Hotel Bar and Grill restaurant staff made our 35th wedding anniversary dinner a very special celebration! The restaurant host Steve was very accommodating by walking us around the dining room to choose our perfect quiet and romantic table, holding our table/reservation for 45 minutes so we could have our requested cocktail at the hotel bar before dinner and taking several photos of us outside the restaurant near the bar area. When we were seated at our reserved table, our server Beth greeted us with 2 complimentary glasses of champagne congratulating us on our anniversary. Our dinner appetizer, main course entrees and dessert were made to perfection and absolutely delicious!! We highly recommend The Driskill Hotel and Grill to celebrate your special occasion!!

Loved our waitress. Despite being extremely stretched thin taking care of tables and a 20top- she was fabulous. Good team work! Only went to show my husband the hotel and ambiance that is rich w history. Overpriced food - a burger so salty you could barely eat it. Salmon was eh. Whole Foods has better food. Bar is always fun but super loud. Bar food pretzels looked pretty good going by;). Won’t be back to Grill but yes to bar.

The service was great, our waitress did an excellent job. However the steak was over cooked, dry, and the mashed potatoes were cold when they came out. It felt as if the food had been sitting under a heat lamp. Considering it took an hour to get our food that could have very well been the case. I expected much more for a $200 meal.

The food was of very high quality. The staff exceeded expectations at all levels. The building and rooms were like a dream to look at. I would recommend this place a thousand times over. I will be planning my next special occasion celebration here if I am in town. Truly a joy to experience it all as a whole.

We had a delicious dinner and uniquely Texan drinks earlier this month. Our server was wonderful seemed to be the only one working the evening of October 5. She had a great attitude and made fantastic recommendations. My husband and I would highly recommend this restaurant. As first-timers to Austin, the Driskill Grill certainly didn’t disappoint and we can’t wait to return.

First time dining here. Been there many times in the bar. The Texas ambience is amazing- like JR Ewing is there. We had super early reservations. Resturant was empty- yet we were put in a back corner and ignored by staff. Also, they were OUT of all draft beer!!!!! How is that possible? This was a Sunday at 5pm- plenty time to restock. And, when asked to box up the leftovers- only a portion was boxed- none of the cheese or condiments of the charcuterie were included!!!!! I barely touched this at the resturant knowing we will eat later that night. Very disappointed.

We chose the Driskill for their Austin restaurant week menu; they offered varied and high-end selections for the event. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were fantastic; the service, albeit pleasant and professional, was the weak link (no fault of the staff; there were only 2 servers working the entire dining room.) Our first round of drinks took 30 minutes to arrive, and the entire 3-course meal took almost 3 hours. I glad to say we ate there, but I cannot think of an occasion to plan a return visit.

Extremely disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were not greeted or acknowledged and immediately felt uncomfortable. We stood at the front for a few minutes when we finally had our server seat us. She failed to introduce herself, ask if we have dined there before or even how we were. Keep in mind the restaurant only had 3 tables of people so they were not busy but her attitude made us feel as though we were her last priority. She asked us what we wanted to drink and also failed to offer us the complimentary glass of champagne that hotel guests get. We had to ask her and she also gave attitude about that. Our food arrived and was cold, at least it had okay flavor. We finished and could not wait to get out of there. We left feeling unsatisfied and unwelcome and still hungry. I DO NOT recommend
