The entire experience was fabulous! Taking a gondola up to the restaurant is a unique and fun time. The food, drinks and service were exceptional. The beef Wellington is a must. Our server had a great sense of humour and was very attentive. We were here twice in two days. Once for lunch and then for dinner. Highly recommended!
32$ for a salty burger is nonsense!
Also they no longer offer their Ceasar selection.
Fish to cook and server doesn’t came back to see if we want wine
Awful customer service. We booked this lunch reservation for our 2 year anniversary, 2 months in advance. No greeting upon arrival, took 5 minutes ot look up from iPad. Gave us one of the worst tables for the view, thought since we booked so far in advance and indicated it was for a special occasion that there would be a bit more attention paid to our reservation and where we sat to enjoy. We were planning on enjoying lunch and a few drinks, but the service was so terrible that we had one drink and decided to leave. Not one employee, not even a manager came to apologize or attempt to turn around the experience for us. They then presented our bill and tried to overcharge me by $6 for the glass of wine I had. When informing the server, she adjusted the bill but took no effort to take care of the drink or anything on our bill. This is the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant that claims 4-5 stars. Will not be returning, and do not recommend this for anyone visiting the resort. The restaurant was empty, and its no mystery why people do not go to this restaurant. If you are going to charge $35-40 for a burger or sandwich, get your service standards to that level as well.
The staff and place was just perfect.
Fine dining prices with food from the day lodge. This place used to have amazing food. Now it is just high priced day lodge food. Burgers and Fries for $35!
The views are still amazing and the staff are always awesome.
Excellent choice when it comes to dinning in KHMR.
Everything was delicious.
Food and service was great! Thought it might be a good idea to send a lantern or some sort of light up in the gondola with dinner guests. Thanks.
Only disappointed with the RCR gondola staff as they made my BF and I wait thirty mins in a cue to get up for our lunch reservation cause he was carrying his skis and being expensive equipment it was not logical to leave them sitting at the bottom of the lift. Your going to lose business with this if everyone ends up being extremely late for their reservations on top!
High level of gastronomy and nice special of the day
Wonderful location, beautiful building but the service didn’t match the atmosphere and the average food certainly didn’t match exorbitant price tag.
It’s possible it was just a bad night for the kitchen
Amazing view! Great food. One of the top dining experiences we've ever had!
Everything was excellent till the server received an extra table to serve and service got lot slower, other than that everything was perfect.
I highly recommend the new grilled chicken sandwich. The daily soup was delicious too.
We enjoyed the food and service. We were placed in the far west corner and felt it was too dark. Otherwise great experience.
Food is very delicious! We dined twice during our stay.
Lunch - highly recommend the burger and steak sandwich!
Dinner - everything we ate was very good! Highly recommended
We had the set menu for New Year’s Eve. The food quality and presentation was top notch. The lamb was fall off the bone and the demi-glaze was exquisite! The wine pairing recommended by our waiter was perfect!
What an awesome spot to have a drink and a meal. Gorgeous. Happy helpful staff.
Great job in setting up the restaurant to facilitate physical distancing. Cobb salad was outstanding - glad to see a choice of a full salad without cheese. Prime rib burger was very tasty but needed a knife and fork - no hand held burger for this one.
Went out for a family dinner......thought a nice dinner out was in order. All in all, dinner was ok, but exceptionally expensive for what we got. They were out of 2 or 3 things on the menu, and our food took over an hour to arrive, and wasn’t piping hot. It was after an hour that I asked for some bread, which our server said “oh yes.....I’ll see what I can do”. For what meal prices are, one would expect excellent service and a meal that you talk about all the way down your gondola ride.....this was not the case.
Food was delicious and they had effective COVID protocols in place.
On top of a mountain. 360 deg views of several mountain ranges. Great food. Good drinks (the drink menu is smaller this year). Staff is friendly and accommodating. Eagle's Eye is one of my favourite parts of Kicking Horse.
So very beautiful up there. Make sure you leave time for lots of walkathons the summit as well as a chairlyride to see Boo’s play area. Truffle fries were amazing.
First the concept should it be great if the Gondola ticket would be aT a reasonable price and I’m not a cheap person in life when it’s worth it(95$ just to go up there for two). And then there were Missing meal on the menu. So we have took two Oignons soup and a shareable plate of cheese and charcuterie. Not a large menu for that experience. Looks like a tourists trap and they got us. But at least we can put a check on it. But we will not recommend it.
Though the fog rolled in to block the view, the coziness, great food and special attention by the staff made it a great experience.
Getting here was half the fun! We rode the "Eagle Eye Express" gondola up to the top (around 7700 feet!) and passed fall to winter in matter of 15 minutes. They had just had their first no fall the day before so it was just beautiful, but cold when we got to the top. A fireside table was host to our delicious lunch. Very interesting meals like flatbread with BBQ duck on it and veggie burger all presented on trendy plates. Friendly staff. This beautiful building complimented our lunch outing.
Enjoyed lunch. Slight mix up with food order but quickly remedied and compensated.
Absolutely beautiful! Food was good and not over priced
We enjoyed our hamburgers. The menu was somewhat limited and I would likely have had the salmon burger had it been available. Service was very good and tables well spaced. A great view especially if one gets a window table.
En fin de saison (mi-septembre), le menu était limité pour ceux qui, comme nous, ont pris le forfait déjà payé. Plutôt choisir de réserver une table et d'avoir le menu à la carte.
Great food topped with great service. Thank you jennifer.
Great food with an awesome view
Elegant, mountain top dining, always makes an occasion special,
Stunning mountain views while enjoying a delicious lunch - you could not have asked for a more perfect situation. Purchasing the gondola and lunch option is an excellent way to spend a lunch hour and then time to walk the mountain trails on top of the mountain. The salmon sandwich and burger were both really good. Try the truffle fries - you won't be disappointed.
The location is superb. It is unfortunate that there is not a discount on the gondola for those who are just going for the restaurant experience. Though I mentioned at guest services that we were only going for lunch, there was no information provided regarding the lift / dine option.
The menu was very limited and several items on the menu were not available. The quantity of food was good though prices were high for what was on the menu. The service was good as working with limited staff. Staff appeared to be multi tasking their roles.
It was odd that on the open table reservation I mentioned that my husband was celiac and that we were going to celebrate a birthday (my husband's). There was no mention of either by the staff. I had to explain about the food restrictions when the menu did not indicate gluten free options. All in all an OK experience but not one to rave about.
Very nice adventure, food was amazing, I would compare it to the keg for pricing. Overall great experience, good food and nice people.
After a morning of hiking we had a fantastic lunch in this beautiful timber frame structure with amazing views of the surrounding peaks!!
We enjoyed our time on the top of the mountain. The food and service was good.
Touring BC Kootenay and wanted to experience the mountains. Loved every minute of it.....except for the gondola ride....so scary!
Went for our wedding luncheon. We had a great table and a great server. Beautiful place!
