Earth to Table: Bread Bar - Guelph Ratings and Reviews
Brunch should have a cheaper option with no alcohol. Overpriced
Have been here several times. Food, service and ambience are wonderful. Lots of parking available. Will continue to eat here and bring friends and family.
Outstanding establishment with a very comfortable, casual atmosphere featuring a very creative menu and excellent service.
Ordered the falafel bowl and was looking forward to a spicy dish. Very disappointed when it was so bland I had to ask for hot sauce to provide the flavour. Service personnel were very accommodating in trying to make up for it. Provided a box of goodies to take home.
My dinner companion enjoyed what she ordered.
I would return but order something different.
I'm a huge fan of The Bread Bar and go here often for lunch and dinner. Today was the first time we tried it for brunch to celebrate my birthday.
Their website does not do a good job of explaining the experience - $30 per person, all you can eat and it includes 2 alcoholic drinks from their menu. But it's a little more complicated...
The price seemed high to me and we almost didn't go. But they have such an interesting approach: they present a menu which lists about 6 drinks to choose from (espresso drinks are extra), a list of their cold lunch-type items, three different pizzas, and a dessert cart which are all displayed buffet style, and a menu of breakfast items served kinda tapas-style which you can order as you like. Everything is all-you-can-eat.
We started with the peach wine belliini-style drink and a cocktail called a Frenchie. We also had coffee. We ordered the French toast, "all the sides" and the poached pear with crème anglaise and hazelnuts and we shared all of these. The plates are small but it really was quite good. We moved on to the bbq beef with potato hash and a poached egg along with the rootbeer beans and glasses of beer. Then we both had a slice of pizza and some fresh baked bread with raspberry jam. Not wanting to skip dessert we had a piece of pumpkin pie, blueberry pie, a brownie and a peanut butter cookie. We just had tastes of these.
What a clever idea! I love the tapas breakfast approach - this was unique, fun and of course delicious. And it was pricey but what a smart approach for a restaurant to do this and the place was packed with a cozy atmosphere.
The only improvement I would make is in the bar items. The beer was the best item we tried. They have such an opportunity to really create something special. The peach wine with sparkling wine was simply bad. And the Frenchie wasn't very good either. I think they could've done a lot more and created something super special. Regardless, we will be back, and will bring friends.
Wonderful food. Friendly staff.
One ordered a beet salad as a side but was actually a green salad with 3 beets in it.
Not what expected.
Waitress not the happiest.
My husband and I loved the brunch selection, the service was great as always. The food was delicious and fresh. For $30 all you can eat plus 2 alcoholic beverages and unlimited coffee and tea, for what you pay it is way more than worth it. The food was perfectly seasoned.
Fiancé and I wanted to try something new. So, we decided to go the Bread Bar for Sunday morning brunch.
I've never done brunch but, this was amazing. We had the cutest table, right by the window and the food was amazing!
Look for the French toast, and 'all the sides' plate.
BEST. BRUNCH. EVER.
Had a great meal, it wasn't too loud. Waitress was great but a little pushy and almost to rush us out.
We took friends form out of town for lunch. Very friendly staff, fast service, good food. Location is convenient to downtown and the university.
I have been there twice now with my girls, and husband. Both times, the staff have been very friendly, the food amazing, and the atmosphere very calming. My girls love the pizza and milkshake choices. There is a pretty good variety of food to choose from, and definitely something there for everyone. I highly recommend you make reservations on the weekends because there won't be a free seat available, that is how busy it is and how good it is!
We had a wonderful meal for a birthday. We ordered the special of the day; the featured pizza that has roasted garlic, Parmesan cheese, and pepperoni. It was delicious. We’re looking forward to another event to celebrate there.
Generally all around good experience. Will eat there again.
This is the third time I have eaten here - twice for the Sunday brunch and once for dinner. We have not been disappointed so far. The food is delicious (especially any of the bread products, obviously), the service is attentive but not intrusive, and the prices are reasonable. I loved that there was no 'type' of clientele -- while we were having dinner, we saw people of all ages enjoying themselves. I would definitely recommend Bread Bar to anyone!
I reserved for a party of 5 & prepaid for my Mothers birthday. I left a 20% tip from the outset, feeling the service would likely be on point. I was pleased to note that my Mother & her guests unanimously agreed both service & food selection, quality and presentation were top notch. Thank you to breadbar for knocking it out of the park, yet again!!
Awesome food and service Will definitely be returning and have recommended it to friends who have a son attending U of G.
Nice spot good food and decor. Welcome change from the standard fare.
Lovely dinner with great service. VERY uncomfortable seats.
loved our brunch - although the menu changed due to the season but it was still delicious! the french toast should always be on the menu :)
This my first time. The whole experience was wonderful; the service, the menu, the food! The menu was refreshingly different & healthy. It was all especially delicious! Yum!
Thank you! Will be back!
My daughter and I really enjoyed the food and service. Thank you. We look forward to our next visit.
Breadbar has become a frequent dining option for my friends and I.
We love the quinoa burger and you can never go wrong with their pizza!
On Sunday's the brunch is amazing, we were a little disspointed seeing the price be increased to $30 a person.
Overall this is one of our favourite places to have drinks and food. The patio is definetly one of the best in Guelph.
Brunch is always an adventure - love it
Great food and service in a nice setting! Their pizzas are fantastic especially the Mexican Street Corn pizza!
The food was OK. We order a butcher's block that was $18 and only came with 2 pieces of toast to go with all of the meat. We asked for more toast and later found out we were charged for it without being told. The waitress was nice though. I'm not sure if I'd go back for dinner as it was rather expensive for the food quality. I've been for their brunch and it was great so I might stick to that.
Hot, fresh, delicious food. Fast service and attentive servers. Would return to Guelph in a heartbeat for this gem!
First time visiting the restaurant. Great location, nice interior and excellent service. I wish the food met the same level. I had the Quinoa veggie burger. It was ...ok ... and I had expected more from this place. The burger was dry, bland and way too big for a vegetarian burger. I'd recommend going, just don't get that dish.
Bread Bar was a wonderful spot for our date night! Great food, helpful staff, excellent wait times --- we never felt rushed but also never wondered when the next part of our meal would arrive. The risotto was absolutely delicious!!! We will absolutely be back!
Great food, great service, great time I guess for the purpose of structure at least.
The best calamari ever! A great place to have dinner with friends and everything is always fresh. Love it.
Always good at the Bread Bar.
I really enjoy this restaurant. I've been several times and have always had a good experience. The patio is awesome....even on a rainy day.
Came from out of town to celebrate my step-daughters movie away to BC. Out of the group of us, she's the only vegetarian so I wanted to make sure there were plenty of options for her.
Great wait staff. Attentive but not over bearing. Food was delicious. Between the 5 of us we had: Grilled Cheese w/Bacon, Pork Cubano Sandwich, Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, Vampire Slayer Pizza & Mexican Street Corn Pizza.
Excellent food and service, one of our favorite restaurants.
Great pizzas, very nice crust. Only problem, the sauce a bit salty.
Our party was impressed with all of the above.
I am still waiting for glutin free bread
Took my in-laws there for lunch. They are in their 80's and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and ambiance!
Great food. Excellent service. Nice covered patio that you can enjoy even in a rainy day. Casual but very good
