The quality and the presentation of the food was nice, as usual. My husband and I went for our anniversary and I ordered sushi and he ordered teriyaki steak. Our appetizer and my dinner came out long before my husbands and when his did arrive it was cold and had to be sent back. So much for a nice dinner together. We each ended up watching the other eat.

The sushi was good and fresh but very pricey. We also ordered a Ramen bowl which used to be a favorite of ours but the quality and size wasn’t as good. The ramen was supposed to have chicken according to the menu but when I ordered it the waitress said, the ramen also has some pork. Is that ok?’ We said yes but the ramen seemed to only have low quality fatty mystery meat that wasn’t edible. There was no chicken and the ‘pork’ was disgusting. The ramen itself was so oily I couldn’t eat it. We were terribly disappointed in the quality of a favorite dish.

We had a very bad meal. Service was slow, non-attentive, and part of the order was completely lost. Reordered and it took forever to come out. Down almost two hours trying to finish a meal and was never asked once if we wanted drink refills Would not recommend to anyone

We have lived in Durango for a long time, and E by SW used to be such a fantastic date night! I would say it's mediocre. The food was okay, and the cocktail was okay, but neither were great like they were in the past. Part of the problem also was that they sat us down next to someone who was literally doing a FaceTime phone call with some children! I'm not kidding! She was having an out-loud conversation with a few 5 year old children and asking them what they had for lunch that day, what they were doing that night, etc. It was horrible! Then, her friend came and met up with her at the table, and she STILL stayed on a face time video conversation. It just seemed so inappropriate and unfortunately, We were seated close to her table, so I could hear the children more than my husband. Not E by SW's fault, but just a little insight why it's just not that nice to have a date night out anymore. I felt like maybe someone could have asked her to take her conversation outdoors. ..??

We always LOVE East by Southwest! I was born and raised in Durango and now live in Steamboat Springs with my husband, but whenever we visit my family in Dgo we ALWAYS go to East by! :)
