We had a party of 12 and they were able to accommodate us. The service was excellent. The food was awesome. The drinks were great. I will definitely return next time I am in Vancouver.
An interesting mix of food styles in a lovely presentation and taste to match. I highly recommend this restaurant, and while it's not a cheap eat, it's worth every loony.
Great food, very poor service. I reserved a table and halfway through our meal the waiter came to us and told us to move tables. He said a large group walked in and expected to be seated all together. We were halfway through eating when we were told to move. They also prioritized the large groups food order over ours, as we didn’t get one of the dishes we had initially requested. Overall not a great experience at all. They gave us a 10% discount for the inconvenience.
It was our first time dining on Ebisu’s patio and preview what may become a summer hangout. On the street level, dining tables and chairs were provided for neighboring patrons to enjoy takeout - making for great people watching and experiencing the local community. Our hostess checked in multiple times as well as the waiter to ensure our water glasses were filled and table cleared almost within minutes of finishing each entree. We didn’t feel neglected or noticed any difference in service provided to patrons dining inside. From the Happy Hour specials, we tried their dynamite and spicy negritori (tuna belly) rolls; calamari on bed of fried vermicelli; spicy tuna roll, tacos (shells were deep fried) and house special salad. Everything was nicely prepared and presented. Service was prompt and overall our meal was satisfying - great value for Japanese sushi (could bump up the flair) and take in the Robson street vibe.
Staff are very accommodating. Food is great and on time. Will keep coming back😊.
There weren’t enough servers on staff. The servers that were there did their best to be attentive and asked for our orders.
The food is pretty good. The hamachi freshness was the only part that could’ve been better.
It was an enjoyable experience. The staff has provided us with a comfortable vibe that made my get together with my friends whom I haven’t seen for six years extra special. The music was not too loud that made our catching up free-flowing; without yelling at each other. We sat on one of their booths that somehow gave us the feeling of privacy. And their ramen especially the Spicy Lava Ramen and their Miso Ramen were surprisingly amazing! It was a fun experience as a whole.
Food was awesome, but service needs a lot of work. I had to ask for water 4 times and it took the whole hour for us to receive our items.
The food is better than it is portrayed on the menu. The service was really really good. Could maybe use some menu/ambiance upgrades, but would certainly go back and recommend to others.
They also have some good specialities that will make you go back
Love this sushi place when in downtown Vancouver! Always attentive service and great food!
Great appy hour! My family loves coming here!
Tasty!! We were there during happy hour and enjoyed the happy hour menu.
Food selection is good but pricey. Could have some discounts or promos.
server was a bit curt and didn't seem to help us, telling us to math ourselves when the bill came. her colleague was much nicer.
Our family enjoys raw oysrers and always enjoy the freshness and taste and presentation you offer.
Staff are always very attentive and friendly.
There are too many other foods to mention but they are all great
It is more like a non healthy Korean fast food...terrible taste and cheap venue extremely dirty and smelly.
Went there with another family and lots of kids. Ambience was ok but food came fast and it was good.
It was closed.
Birthday with family. Food was delicious. Service was a little scattered but everyone was very friendly.
We wouldn't recommend this restaurant. They seemed to be rushing us constantly, practically sweeping away our plates while still eating and returning every minute to take our orders resulting in up ordering the wrong dishes. Just wasn't a good experience.
We were excited to get to Ebisu during the Dineout Vancouver event. It may have been that it was Super Bowl Sunday but they had the game on a huge screen which dominated the ambience and the servers attention.
The food was delicisou, but for what we paid, the service and atmosphere wasnt really up to scratch
Not worth to eat “Dine out”.
Just order from the regular menu is way better.
Air con was down, environment a bit uncomfortable. Service was a bit slow, table at the corner was hard for servers to see.
Unfortunately the previous reviews I’d read were correct. Mediocre to pretty good food (depending on your selections) and terrible service. We were seated pretty promptly as I had a reservation and that was the end of any semblance of good customer service. I’m a very low maintenance diner in that I expect wait times for fresh food and don’t beer from the menu. I even stack my own dishes sometimes if he sever isn’t quick enough but I never want to feel like I HAVE to bus my own table but here I did. We sat for 17 minutes (that’s right I timed it) before someone came and asked us if we had been helped. We ordered our food and drinks and asked for water to be brought right away as it hadn’t been and our food was brought out but no water. Dish after dish came but no water. One or two servers were great and when we caught their attention they were prompt in giving us what we needed but again I don’t want to have to catch someone’s attention at a restaurant in order to get things like water I asked for an hour ago or a refrigerated dessert that takes minutes to bring to the table but for some reason took another 13 minutes. Won’t be back. Should’ve heeded the words of previous reviewers.
I went for my birthday dinner and left unhappy. Service was bad, they were not attentive forgot what our orders were so when servers came to give the food they had no idea what they were even giving and who they we're giving it to. It didn't even appear what we got was what we ordered. food came out all scattered so some people were eating first while others had nothing. And if our friends waited their food was cold. For the dine out 40 bucks the food was a rediculous small portion. The regular menu was cheaper and looked better. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Way to overpriced for nothing. Above that they charged us 15 bucks in tips when I thought they didn't deserve it what so ever.
Chill place with great food! I love the matcha cheesecake they have for their #VancouverDineOut menu
Went for Dine Out menu, food was delicious but small portion. Service was good but we were told theres only 2 chefs working on the Dine Out orders, so the food was not served very quickly. My gf got her entree after I already finished mine.
I didn't like the place where we sat in, and we waited for our orders at least 1/2 an hour and we got our main courses at different times that I end up eating my food first, because if I waited for my husband's order, my food would've been cold. But the food was great testing. From appetizer to the main course, it was delicious. I gave the food 4/5 stars, the service 3 and half/5 stars and the ambiance 3 and a half/5 stars. Thank you for experience. This was our first time eating here.
For Dine Out Vancouver, I would not do again. This restaurant is great for ordering sushi, sashimi and other types of on the spot ordering Japanese cuisine. To package it as 3 course dining was difficult because they could not get the timing right. I would go back there because the food was good.
I have dined at Ebisu almost every time we came to visit Vancouver. It is literally right across the street from where we’re staying. So it was an easy and convenient walk. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Most of the servers/staff were very accommodating and efficient. We got all our food in a timely manner and it was all so delicious. I will def come back. Great all around service!!!
Food and overall experience was good enough but not especially memorable. There are too many other options for this type of cuisine in Vancouver to explore ahead of returning to this restaurant
Very good food and very good cocktails. Overall it's worth it. Make sure to book in advance as wait times might be long in the evenings. Vibe is ok but a bit too noisy at times but I guess that's ok too. Our server was very friendly and welcoming.
Got there 10 min early and the restaurant was half empty and they wouldn’t seat us. Was told the dine out menu option will take 40 min because they are “very busy”. The food was mediocre. Wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Thought it was dine out but it starts today, the receptionist kept saying no for everything, she seemed no patient for us,soy sauce bottle was empty we had to ask twice to get a new one
Good food and service.
Incredibly great restaurant. Tasty food, discreet service, reasonably priced. It was a lucky find to spend the New Year's eve while visiting Vancouver.
A little noisy and a few drunk patrons seated nearby took away from our experience. Food was good but not exceptional. Service was very good and very attentive. Menu offered has something for everyone but seemed a bit generic compared to some other places in Vancouver. Execution below par from the best in town.
Server kept forgetting to bring my drink. Which I asked for two times before I finally got it half an hour later. I understand it gets busy but I’m a server too and this was just stupid. It was my
Birthday as well and everyone struggled getting any attention for any service. I understand big groups can get annoying but half an hour waiting for a drink? I only drank two because who knows how much longer it would take. We didn’t stay too long. Thank you anyways I will most likely be doing my bday elsewhere
Solid, but not necessarily what I expected. Its sort of a commercialized Japanese place with lots of non-Japanese food on the menu like truffled fries. Strange, but generally pretty tasty.
