Service has gone way down recently. The service used to be great here. No leadership and service staff had no idea what they were doing. 3 separate servers brought us glasses of water then disappeared for 25 minutes after we ordered our food and drinks. We asked several times for our first drink order but they kept saying, "Oh you didn't get it yet?:
Gyoza was luke warm. Oysters were pathetically small and dry. Fries were the only thing hot we got and those took over 20 minutes to get, after asking for them again, which then went to the wrong table first... during a pandemic, but they just brought them over to us after anyway. Beer glasses were not chilled. Beer took half an hour to get. 2 or 3 servers would come at the same time and then nobody for a long time. I even gave my feedback at the end and a lead server tried to tell me she had worked there for 10 years and nothing had changed.... though I am a regular for over 10 years and I've never seen her before. All new staff with no experience. Japanese staff is gone.
Big thumbs down on service.
Washroom was also not clean... broken toilet.
Something has changed for the worse. I hope they fix it or we won't go back.

We went mid-week for happy hour and were very impressed. Felt safe with all staff wearing masks and guests being socially distanced. Both the service and food quality were great. Loved the buck-a-shuck oysters! Will be back soon.
This never happened, they were closed when we got there on time for our reservation. They never contacted me about it, should have better communication with OpenTable confirming reservation when they are actually closed. Otherwise, I know the Kamei Japanese restaurant group as being good, as I have dined with Kamei Royale and Kamei Baru in the past with good experiences
Always enjoy coming to Ebisu. Food is always freshly made and tasty. And service is excellent. Will sure go back.
The food was good, but the staffs were a little forgetful.
I was very disappointed in the food. I came here regularly before COVID hit and it was always a moderate to good experience. The food was extremely bland, small portioned, and tasted as though it was sitting out. Even the shot glasses that we were given weren’t cleaned properly and had something stuck to the sides. I’m not sure if the chef had an off day but it was not worth the $100+ we spent. Let’s just say that I won’t be back for a while.
Food was amazing!
We love Ebisu, it is our favourite Japanese restaurant in the area. Most times we come the service is top notch. However, this time service was odd. We were a party of 6 and we got one drink and one food order wrong. The waiter didn’t really apologize and seemed to ignore us for the rest of our meal. It was still a good experience given that food was generally tasty and good value.

Got a Sake bottle which had a crack in it, saw the servers only sanitize the visibly dirty part of the table (and neglect the rest), and the menu was restricted only to the take-out menu. Food came out in random order, one dish at a time. At the end of it all, they didn't even do anything (comp/discount) to make up for the hazardous glass bottle.

The prices on Yelp, Opentable AND their actual site online are WRONG... apparently they increased everything by $1-$3 dollars AND cut happy hour by half the size. Not worth it, go somewhere else.

I already usually receive minimal service when I go to Ebisu in smaller groups, but they definitely could not handle that many big groups that night. It took 30 mins and 3 reminders to get the table some water and menus; basic necessities for your first interaction with your customers. Not to mention, the ordering process and waiting for the food to finally come was a grueling experience. I would not recommend hosting big events here.

We were there during slow time, they offered happy hour menu, which was nice. Oysters was fresh, chicken karrage was good, 2 sushi rolls for $7.5 the spicy tuna roll was delicious and fresh, the chop scallops was average, nothing special about it. Tan tan mien was delicious, my husband loved it. The only dishes we didn't like is calamari, very bland, nothing special about it. They don't serve pickle ginger with their sushi, I don't know why. Overall it's good food, good view, we liked the patio looking over Robson.
The einliest thing was, ihr musik was loud ans hard.

Food was good just a slightly pricy. The ambient was great and it was quiet. Very difficult to find a parking though. Not the best location. Service was great, food came very fast.

Pretty place with great selection of tasty sushi. Location is so convenient and the staff very nice and efficient. Might be a bit noisy when it gets busy.

If your focus is on the food quality, Ebisu is a good choice. Very high quality and creative sushi & sashimi. If ambience is a priority, find a quieter place.
