   This is the second time we have dined here, and both experiences have been excellent. The service is top notch., the food is wonderful, and unlike some restaurants when you’re crammed in, Bar Edgar was able to accommodate our larger party of eight, and a relaxed and comfortable setting. Conversation was wonderful and able to be heard. I highly encourage you visit.

   Love the Edgar, always good. However today both our burgers though still very tasty not the medium rare we both ordered. Had they been the burgers would have been exceptional. Drinks and service top notch!!

   I was in town for work and was solo dining. My experience at Edgar’s started off on the wrong foot and never improved. I arrives a few minutes early for my reservation and when shown to a table, it was already occupied. I followed the hostess back to the front and waited for about 5 minutes while she and two other hostesses tried to figure out where to put me. I was eventually placed at a 4-top in the back by the wait station and promptly forgotten. I waited more than 10 minutes before another waiter who kept coming over to run credit cards noticed me. He half-heartedly took my order after shrugging and telling me he had no idea where my waiter was. The meal came out quickly but was disappointing. I ordered the steak frites- the steak was cooked to the right temperature but was a poor cut of meat- the fat strap made it extremely difficult to cut. For the price, I would have expected a better cut of steak. I felt overall that the restaurant staff lacked effective communication and the attention to detail expected at a restaurant within the Mayflower Autograph Collection Hotel.

    Nice ambiance. Great server and overall experience. One hiccup was receiving my entree with cheese on the fries when expressly asked for none, confirmed okay by server and then arrived with Parmesan. Immediately fixed but when spending over $150 for 2, it was a bit disappointing. Would still recommend.

    Absolutely outstanding food, drinks and SERVICE! They were beyond accommodating of our many special circumstances and needs. Kudos to all of their staff because they went above and beyond to make a special experience for us, and on New Year’s Eve when things were chaotic for them no less! Margaritas were well made, and I’m picky. Ravioli was so good, as was risotto. Edgar salad was also delicious. We have been before and will obviously be back! Thank you!!

    Rushed service 40 minutes before the "kitchen closed". Insisted on taking our lunch order before offering any drinks. The crispy chicken burger was smothered in a gross bbq sauce. We're expecting a festive and enjoyable lunch, though left feeling very disappointed after the bad service and terrible food. We should have realized when the restaurant was so empty and should have gone elsewhere. Lots of other great options around. Don't bother wasting your time or money here.

    Reservation for 630. We arrived at 625 and were seated. Me and my 10 yo were given two cocktail menus and one food which we laughed and were given two menus and ordered a coke and sprite which got quickly. We sat for forty minutes unspoken to and no one even passed our table during that time. We went next door and ate right away.

    This is an unusually good restaurant for a hotel. Out of 10 meals during our 5-day visit to DC, we ate 4 at Edgar and were pleased we could enjoy our own hotel's restaurant enough to frequent it. The menu is limited, but everything we had was very good. The clam chowder is truly exceptional.

    I loved the ambience! Classy bar, great lighting and has cozy little nooks to enhance the happy hour experience. The service was decent. I did receive the wrong food order but they were very accommodating when I informed them of the mistake. It wasn't a big deal. They fixed it alright with the delicious food and drinks.     We were staying at the Mayflower Hotel so we could easily eat inside. Food and service were very good. Sadly they ignored or never read the specially request to put a candle on our dessert as this was a birthday dinner
