Lovely experience with my family. Good food and friendly staff. Would return and recommend this restaurant.
Innovative menu in a very cool restaurant. Service was excellent. The falafel hummus bowl was amazing flavour with lots of veggies. My friend thought the elk flank was superb. All topped off with great wines from BC.
Celebrating the graduation of a university student.
Always great dining at Edible Canada! The food was excellent and came out so quick...the staff are helpful and friendly! Edible Canada is our go-to, date night restaurant...love it!
Food service was the exceptionally quick. We didn’t feel like we were being forced to leave even though there was a line up. You need to make reservation. Very enjoyable meal.
We had a nice meal in this restaurant on a quiet evening. The food was good but I would not rate it spectacular. The ingredients are all locally sourced which is nice. There are casual and comfort food options on the menu which went well with our cold rainy evening and the service was attentive. The restaurant is upscale cafe style. The bar had a decent selection of local craft brews and there were many local wines on the wine list. I think this is a solid selection for a casual meal on Granville Island. I am sure this restaurant will be very busy during prime tourist season.
My favourite restaurant here ! I would definitely recommend Edible.
We had a very nice meal here. I was really looking forward to all of the Canadian sourced food and drinks. I feel bad saying this because it was really a pleasant experience and nothing was really wrong, but I wasn't blown away by the food and cocktails. I had really high expectations based on the menu descriptions, but all of things we tried weren't that spectacular. I was hoping for some really unique flavors but all of it ended up being rather normal. Well done, but normal. I would try it again just because we liked the atmosphere; but maybe with more tempered expectations.
Great place for casual clean comfort food. Nice people, not professional but not presumptuous either. One of the portions was too small for the price (seafood stew). The BC-centric wine list is excellent but they should add flights. Overall the food was very good to excellent and it was a good experience. We will return.
Everything was good except for the seafood hot pot. I be had WAY better. Potatoes in a hot pot is a no no. The squid, mushroom risotto and steelhead and beer were all very good. Waiter was good but was the only waiter on so had to wave him down a few too many times.
Great service! Great tasting food, wish the portion sizes were bigger.
Excellent preparation of interesting dishes. Especially liked small plates- poke plate and Brussel sprouts and cauliflower.
We were searching for a restaurant featuring Canadian ingredients. Edible Canada on Granville Island not only featured them but prepared unique & tasty dishes out of them. We enjoyed a Fraser Valley pork chop with polenta (I asked for the rhubarb mostarda on the side), an Eastern Canada sturgeon (flown in fresh) with brussel sprout leaves & potatoes, and the most awesome carmelized goat cheese cheesecake with a blueberry compote. We will need to return to sample the elk, etc... There are free parking spots for 3 hours within a short distance.
Food was absolutely delicious, and staff was friendly and helpful. The Bison plate gave me a killer stomach ache which was disappointing, but my date thoroughly enjoyed his Elk steak.
The staff was very friendly and they were able to accommodate us with a child, which is not easy all the time. Food was excellent and it was not those Canadian big portions that we are used to. They have very interesting items on the menu.
Convenient location. Good for spending time with friends in a quiet weeknight.
Edible Canada does a consistently good job with a limited menu of local (that is, BC) ingredients. The ambience is good, and prices are fair.
Good service but the previous reviewer was right about the chairs being very uncomfortable.
I took my best friend here for her birthday brunch and we had a great time! Food and drinks were amazing. The server was nice. Things took a bit longer than I thought they would but we weren’t in a rush so I didn’t have a problem with it. All in all we had an amazing experience!
The menu options are very unique and very tasty. The chairs are horrible.
Worth a try for foodies
It felt like the service was shorthanded. The wine menu was forgotten when we seated.
Also, at the time of making the reservation, it asked if it was a special occasion, and it was a birthday celebration. I was a little disappointed that there was not one mention of this by anyone at the restaurant.
Server was aware of possible need to get orders in quickly as many customers seemed to be going off to a show. The restaurant emptied out about 7:45 as a result of this.
Arrived earlier than reservations but was able to be seated anyway to take advantage of happy hour.
Food was good but would have enjoyed seeing some of the dishes from "dine out menu"
Always an interesting menu, well prepared and served quickly.
Great food and service!! Love the local ingredients used throughout menu. Their store has fabulous locally made gourmet food items to take home!
Good vegetarian options. great location in the Granville Markets so a good stop while shopping and sight-seeing.
Perfect for girls night. Food and drinks were fantastic and it was the perfect ambience for conversation. It cleared out quite early so next time we would probably make a reservation for earlier in the evening so we're not the last ones there.
Was seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. Even though our table was empty on arrival. Food was sat at the counter eating to be brought out and once served was cold. Understaffed and unaware.
Local and healthy food choices . Deliciously prepared and reasonably priced for the quality you receive.
Delicious food. Love that they provide specialty salt for you to season your food with. Awesome location. We all enjoyed walking our lunch off as we browse the market afterwards.
Outstanding lunch in every respect. Excellent accommodation for a gluten sensitive guest. We will return often.
Always great wait staff
The service was excellent: our glasses was promptly filled with water, the server took pains to explain the different dishes to us and made personal recommendations, and most importantly he was genuinely courteous. The portion was small but the quality was decent. I was however expecting some pizzazz at this price range. The fries of the duck poutine taste no different from those that you get from New York fries but the duck was definitely the highlight. Juicy and tender with just the right amount of salt. Overall it was a good experience.
Great service-good waiters. Friendly and multilingual staff. French and Spanish spoken. This was much appreciated.
Good food and solid service as always. Our go to place for a variety of settings, from special occasions and business meals.
We ate at Edible Canada for Valentine's Day. They had a four course $50 menu which was excellent, as well as a wine flight available for pairings. The regular menu always features many local foods and the valentine's menu was no exception. This restaurant is really a hidden gem and flies under the radar, I think due to its name and location on Granville Island. The food is fine-dining quality and rivals that of Bishops Farmer's Apprentice.
They do need to work on their service, which is good, but not at the same level as the food.
We had a short period of time to eat and get to the theatre production across the street from the restaurant. The waitstaff was very accommodating. We ordered the fish and chips and is was very fresh tasting. We also had the chocolate brownie for dessert which was great. We were able to have coffee and pay our bill in time to see our show! I'd go back again.
Food was great, service less so - we had been there less than an hour when the hostess stopped by and asked if we wanted our bill. We asked instead if we could order hot chocolate... she twice asked if we wanted them to go. When we did ask for the bill maybe 10 minutes later, the pleasure and relief on her face was evident. Not a great way to wrap up an otherwise nice brunch.
Disappointing food and service. Reservations for 7:00 pm and chairs stacked around us at 8:20 pm. What??? They decide to close early but we weren’t informed at time of reservation or seating. No such thing as as leisure dinner before the show. I had great hopes for this restaurant but food was mediocre and our server couldn’t wait to leave. Not attentive. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back
Reliably delicious, locally sourced cuisine that is worth seeking out on Granville Island. Excellent, unobtrusive service in a casually elegant atmosphere.
My cousin who joined me for lunch has lived in Vancouver area all her life and had never been to Edible Canada.......she was simply blown away.
