Edible Canada at the Market Ratings and Reviews
Service as always was superb!
The food was not wow... to be honest, I was more impressed by the menu than the actual way the food was served. Cocktail was delish. What disappointed me the most was that I indicated this was a birthday dinner and they didn’t do anything special like most nice restaurants would... No happy birthday, nothing. I’m better off going to the keg for a special evening.
Wonderful local foods, excellent vegetarian and friendly service!
The avocado eggs Benny are wonderful! Really recommend them! Also like that they have brunch available every day and not just Sundays!
Great experience. Would recommend. We were originally seated near the door but on our request changed to a much better table.
Best risotto ever. Bison was amazing. Service perfect. Server very helpful and my husband thought he was hot which was very strange after 50 years of marriage. Who knew?
loved the Cauliflower/brussel sprout dish. And the seafood hotpot was great.
Cocktails were excellent and the food was very good. Service was great, they took really good care of us and we never waited for anything.
Good food, good service ! Nice to have real cuisine :)
We absolutely loved everything we ate - a pork terrine, confit pork cheeks, and a prawn and squash pasta. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a cocktail that was off-menu, which was a mistake - next time I would stick to what they definitely know how to make.
We’ve been here a few times, and it gets better each time. We absolutely love the food and the service is wonderful.
Reserved seat via opentable.
Got notification/confirmation via email.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was not informed.
Good thing we were early and there were available seats.
Wonderful ambience. Very friendly waiters, helpful and interesting.
Food is total comfort - delicious and fresh!!
Love the music.
Dinner was mostly great, but the Humboldt squid was disappointing - kind of mushy! If it's supposed to be that way, I won't order it again, but otherwise, it won't keep me from coming back to enjoy another meal. Thanks.
Got brunch with the gals and it was the perfect ambiance we were looking for. A true Canadian experience and gem. We loved the coffee, service and the 10% discount at the shop after! Will be back. Thank you!
Great place for sharing food!
Four of us were dining prior theatre. Our reservation was for 5:30pm on a Thursday night. We had a nice casual welcome when we entered the restaurant. After that our impression dropped substantially. Service was slow. Excessively slow. The restaurant was not busy and it apprpeared there was only one person serving tables. We waited at least 10mins longer than expected between each course. We had to ask for coffee as no one was asking us. We finally ordered coffee 45mins prior theatre start thinking we had enough time to enjoy the coffee, pay for the bill and walk across the street in time for the theatre. No coffee in sight after 15mins. We tracked down the lady who refilled water on the table and told her we no longer had time for coffee, take it off the bill, find our waiter and give us the bill. Another 5mins went by when the coffee came as 2 of us were leaving. We turned the coffee back and said it arrived too late. They knew early on we were going to the theatre for 7:30pm. After much ado the men asked again for the bill. When it came after another 5mins the coffee was still listed. After further discussion and another 5mins the bill was paid. There were apologies about the delays but that was not good enough. The service when we had it, was polite but the delays were totally unacceptable.
The food was acceptable but nothing outstanding. We will not return.
The food was excellent! I had the bison there for the first time and enjoyed it vey much. The service was great and they gave me my special request to have a surprise cake for my friend’s birthday. The overall feel and ambiance of the place was relaxed. Was definitely a great dining experience and i would go back.
Food was pretty average for what it was. Poutine was in a hot iron pan, but was not that hot, temperature wise, itself. Be aware when it comes to payment time, they arrive with the debit machine, but they've configured it so that you're tipping on the "after tax total", which is a bit of a dubious and shady extra cash grab, IMO. The waiter also was presumptuous and had pre-selected 18% tax for himself as an option on the tipping buttons, which I thought was pretty ballsy. It took them a while to catch on that we were seated and never actually presented with menus. I was underwhelmed by it all. I would rate them as "OK, but not great."
The staff was very accommodating for our party of 8. Two young adults in their 20's, left early without ordering a meal. I wondered if it was too pricey for them.
Our meals were tasty. A couple of people said they would remember to come again.
This was my 3rd time at this restaurant and the food was excellent once again.
I know we live in difficult times and that waiters are struggling to be paid a fair wage. Many of us are. So I found that setting up the visa machine to 18% gratuity was a bit over the top for me. Really??!! I choose what I want to give, as I can. I am not sure if this was a personal choice of the waiter or the dictates of the restaurant but the audacity took my breath away and did not bring him the result he wanted.
I can imagine this is a most lucrative procedure when the sun is out and tourists are too busy to notice. But on any day, not just a rainy Wednesday when we stopped by for a quick lunch and tea, I felt it was pretty cheeky. It's not the amount I mind, it was the way it was done.
Edible Canada lives up to its name. Bringing Canadiana to the Vancouver restaurant scene is what this place is about - Elk, rabbit, seal and now sturgeon - all sustainable and properly procured showing customers the quality, taste and value these food proteins have.
Rounding this off is the excellent customer service Harriet and her team provide along with a creative beverages list that highlight Canadian made craft spirits, BC wines and craft breweries. Go and enjoy, bring an open mind and you will be rewarded.
The dishes were all great, as always. It's always a pleasure introducing Edible Canada to new people and having them feel the same about it.
Service was slow. Disappointing dinner as we had previously had brunch here and thought it was great. Drinks started badly - cranberry smash was nothing special, Chinatown was not a good mix of flavours and Mike Weir (non alcoholic) tasted like straight lemon juice with no sweetener and had to be sent back to get re-mixed. Poutine was good but curry hotpot was bland, humboldt squid was extremely salty (obviously not tasted in the kitchen). Standout dish was tuna tostada but very small portion for $15. Did not stay for dessert given the disappointing entrees. Would come back for brunch but not for dinner.
The service from our waiter Chris was fantastic. The Cache Creek burger had too much truffle jam on it and my husband did not like it. Chris graciously offered to bring him a replacement meal of Duck Poutine which was much better. The service was expedient and courteous. I'd give the food 3.5/5 as it was good but not spectacular. Overall it was a pleasant experience but given the hype I heard I was slightly underwhelmed by the food. Service deserves 5/5...he got a 25% tip.
We had a lovely dinner at Edible on Granville Island. I liked the Canadian-inspired menu. Enjoyed the sturgeon. It was a cold evening and was nice to enjoy our meal in the warm cozy environment. The service was great. Perfect pre-theatre dinner.
We really enjoyed our time there - as always! Great food, great service, and a beautiful snowy day on Granville Island.
Super friendly service from the time we were seated to when we left. The food came quickly and the drinks were tasty. Dessert was delicious! Really warm and comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend Edible Canada to friends who are looking for a great pre-theatre place to eat.
Reserved a table for brunch for a family get-together. They arranged for us to be in the corner so that we could chat and catch up--which was very considerate. The food was amazing and my cousins who were visiting were very impressed.
My friend and I both enjoyed our dinners... Each had a starter and a main that we loved. The service was good and the atmosphere pleasant, though the music was a tad too loud as is the case in most Vancouver restaurants nowadays. I was meeting a friend I had not seen for a while to catch up a bit, and Lowering the music volume a tad would have made for a much more pleasant evening for us as the high volume occasionally interfered with our ability to hear one another.
Great service, good brunch options and prices decent but could be a little lower for what you get
Not my first time at Edible Canada, and they did not disappoint. Good food, warm atmosphere, efficient service. Noise level high, because of the materials in this converted hangar
Birthday for my wife and they didn't seem to do anything special for her in fact found the server quite rude! Food was good but wine and beer was way overpriced . Nothing special in my opinion . Could get equal fair and better value elsewhere !
Creative, Canadian-sourced international food that is always freshly prepared and delicious. the four of us shared the duck poutine and the falafel mains as appetizers and had bison, hamburger and mushroom risotto to share for the main course. Everything was outstanding!
the service was also excellent: attentive, informative and very friendly and pleasant.
Great food but had really (really) slow service
I enjoyed my dining experience very much with my friends :)
The service is great and the food varied and tasty. I just wish you would bring back the duck fat fries!
Great food and service. Creative menu and local ingredients.
I was a bit surprised when we received our menus; I was expecting a prix fixe menu. of either
$49 or $59 and I thought this was a bit too casual. We were entertaining friends from London
and I thought it was going to be a bit different than it was. As it turned out though, everyone
was happy with their food (three people had fish and chips) and I was delighted with the octopus orchiette. In fact, I'd like to have the recipe if they're into doing things like that.
