Ordered wild fish and chips and fish was very thick with deep fried coating and thin chewy cod fish.
Reserved a table was not told patio seating was available. Disappointing.
This is my second time eating there. Last time most of us had seafood and it was great. This time I took mostly vegetarian friends there and the food was underwhelming. My veggie risotto had a nice texture, but was way too salty. My friends did not rave about the veggie pasta and the veggie curry, either. The one who had the salmon was happy about her choice.
I took my sister to dinner and a play for her birthday. The service was great and the food was superb. A great place to go before going to watch a play at the Arts Club.
I would go here more often if I could buy some of my own wine here to share with my guests.
Most of the food was great! The elk tartar wasn't appealing. It tasted only of Grainy Dijon mustard which was hard to swallow after several bites.
Service was not the best but to be fair it was super busy 😊
We visited from the UK recently and this was our fave place to eat. Very welcoming and family friendly. The food was delicious too and the range of craft beers was awesome.
Perfect table and very prompt service. Excellent attention to detail by staff. We all had 'brunch' type meals...the salmon benny was perfect! The 'smashed potatoes' were absolutely melt-in-your mouth delicious. Where can we get the recipe??!!
Great food and selection.
First time diner at Edible Canada. It had been recommended to me by a friend and I can see why- delicious!! I was dining alone, but the hostess encouraged me to sit outside. So glad she did. I sat facing some live street music. Their happy hour menu is fantastic! The waiter recommended the 33 Acres beer and now, I will too! I paired it with their fish and chips- a delicious combo. Very fresh! The service is fantastic. I recommend making a reservation or arrive early (I did both).
I had been there several times as I practice yoga and do my weekly shopping at GI.
I wanted to bring my husband and have a lovely dinner date which turned out to be a very disappointing experience due to an unhappy waiter that should probably not be in the service industry. Let’s say he showed no interest in informing us of the menu, when I asked him about a dish we were thinking of ordering he said “sure”, never once came and checked on our meal and removed my wine glass without any inquiry as to whether I wanted another glass... I spoke to the manager which seemed surprised about him yet seemed to care about our experience. Unfortunately this waiter had a chance to perhaps apologize or end our experience perhaps with an I’m sorry about your experience, yet he was somehow offended we had complained. Sadly it will be my last visit to Edible Canada.
Being genuinely engaged with the customers is bar none the foundation of customer service and as a business you can not afford to have people working for you that lack that very basic skill.
Even though it was a Stat Holiday (Victoria Day) & the Bistro was chock-full, the Girls at Reception were wonderful & efficient. Our Server was very friendly & came by to check on us at good intervals.
The food was Top Notch! We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our smoked salmon bennies & wagyu beef & eggs. Best of all my 8 month young grandson was happily settling into the hustle bustle fun ambience.
We shall be returning. ThankYou for a very pleasant experience!
Had a great time at edible canada. The food was amazing! Our server checked up on us very frequently. Good experience
Bruch is great, fresh ingredients, well prepared good spot to have brunch
All dishes enjoyed by our party of four were outstanding in flavor, fresh ingredients, preparation and presentation. The service was exemplary, attending and anticipating needs without obtrusiveness. We were in complete agreement that whenever we are in Vancouver it is imperative to eat at least one and hopefully more meals at Edible Canada.
Mother’s Day lunch...food was great, service was awful. Food took 1.5hrs
Went for mother's day brunch and experienced very poor service. I found the staff to be neither friendly nor particularly attentive.
I would not recommend edible. The food was forgettable and the service was surprisingly bad. We arrived at 11am for brunch and waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food. Our server was very rude and clearly hated his job. The bus boy was pleasant but incompetent. I would definitely not go back.
Fabulous selection of food and the service was amazing. Not your typical meat and potatoes place but can get a great hamburger with the best french fries ive ever had! The mushroom kale salad and Brussel sprout appie were so yummy.
Everything was excellent! 10/10...would definitely recommend.
A nice menu, with many options for Brunch (breakfast style dishes, small dishes, lunch entrees). It can get very busy on the weekends, as it is directly opposite the Granville Island Market, and there are tourists everywhere you look. Probably better to go in the off-season, as service can be slow due to all of the diners competing for not-enough wait staff.
We try to come every couple of weeks and today our server Niloo (name on receipt) exceeded the usual good service and expectations. We will have to always request Niloo as our server from now on.
Pretty nice sunny Saturday, looking for a lunch patio. Went online, easy to book...available in 20 minutes - perfect! Guess we ordered poorly because the food was pretty lame. I had the Cache Creek burger and my GF had the Fish and Chips. Gluten free batter on the F&C probably opens some doors for my Celiac friends so that's a good thing, but bland...super boring batter. Plus are you using frozen fish at a market restaurant?? Shame! Super dry and kinda tasteless - tried to drown it in malt vinegar to get it down...I've had better at many beach concessions. Maybe some gluten free beer or seasoning in the batter would help too...
The burger was meh, pretty dry, not seasoned, but the truffle mushroom jam underneath was pretty good.
So overall there our food experience sucked...
The cocktails were good and I liked the fact they had Joie Rose by the glass :)
Should have stuck to my usual brunch spot...Got suckered into a tourist trap I guess? Just wanted some sun with my lunch. Hope they can improve because the location is pretty good and convenient if you are picking up supplies from the market.
Oh also, possibly you share your washrooms with the shops??? But for heaven's sakes maybe check them occasionally, the toilets were disgusting.
I thought the food was overpriced for what you got. The green salad was excellent but the fish in the fish and chips was only mediocre. The parpadelle with bison had great flavour but there wasn't much bison in it. The restaurant was also very noisy. The service was very good.
Went for an early brunch with a friend. We both had the classic eggs benny, which is not so classic because it’s served on a slice of rustic loaf bread. Much tastier than an muffin. The smashed potatoes are delish!
On another note,
I’ve never been disappointed in the food here, but the prices are a bit on the high for brunch.
Very fast service. Portions were very small but the presentation and taste was incredible. It is a great place to try something new with the unique menu options.
Duck poutine is a must have. Inventive, tasty salads. Great, lively atmosphere.
The food definitely is the reason to go back, followed by the excellent service and friendly staff! Great job team!
It has a really relaxed atmosphere, price is decent, and food was great in general. Except that I found the roast duck poutine way too salty for my liking (I was in sodium shock for at least 10 sec after my first bite). But other than that, we had a lovely dinner! And the roasted cauliflower and Brussels sprouts was sublime!
Lovely experience with my family. Good food and friendly staff. Would return and recommend this restaurant.
I went at this restaurant for gluten free fish and chip. I was very pleased. It was delicious.
Innovative menu in a very cool restaurant. Service was excellent. The falafel hummus bowl was amazing flavour with lots of veggies. My friend thought the elk flank was superb. All topped off with great wines from BC.
Celebrating the graduation of a university student.
Cleverness of the menu has lost its lustre. Feature of local farmers and ranchers appears to have abated some.
Bring back the to-die-for menu offering your kale salad, the halibut, and the pork chop. New menu is ho-hum.
Always great dining at Edible Canada! The food was excellent and came out so quick...the staff are helpful and friendly! Edible Canada is our go-to, date night restaurant...love it!
Food service was the exceptionally quick. We didn’t feel like we were being forced to leave even though there was a line up. You need to make reservation. Very enjoyable meal.
We had a nice meal in this restaurant on a quiet evening. The food was good but I would not rate it spectacular. The ingredients are all locally sourced which is nice. There are casual and comfort food options on the menu which went well with our cold rainy evening and the service was attentive. The restaurant is upscale cafe style. The bar had a decent selection of local craft brews and there were many local wines on the wine list. I think this is a solid selection for a casual meal on Granville Island. I am sure this restaurant will be very busy during prime tourist season.
My favourite restaurant here ! I would definitely recommend Edible.
We had a very nice meal here. I was really looking forward to all of the Canadian sourced food and drinks. I feel bad saying this because it was really a pleasant experience and nothing was really wrong, but I wasn't blown away by the food and cocktails. I had really high expectations based on the menu descriptions, but all of things we tried weren't that spectacular. I was hoping for some really unique flavors but all of it ended up being rather normal. Well done, but normal. I would try it again just because we liked the atmosphere; but maybe with more tempered expectations.
