Why would I eat anywhere that is this dirty and unkept. Stacked dirty glasses lining an entire section of the bar counter. Our glasses were dirty, server was less than average, bathroom was DISGUSTING. They did not even have white wine. The server said they are closing so I guess they just don’t care anymore. Steer clear.
There were out of a lot of stock (a LOT), but I think they mentioned that they were shutting down soon so that explains the problem.
The food and drinks were really good. Although the menu options were limited, everything was tasty.
I would highly recommend.
Not sure if this was from open table or the restaurant. But we got told we have a two hour window for our table only and had to leave by 7:30pm.
In all fairness, no one policed it. But it kind of put a time limit on evening
Great atmosphere and food
Everything was good, but the 1 vegan taco was extremely spicy.
Everything we ate was delicioso. Orale
Great fish tacos, good service, a bit noisy for quiet dinner, but fit the ambience ok. Handy for the theatre strip on King Street & Roy Thompson Hall
The servers were fun, the music was absolutely fantastic. Definitely a cool spot for a date or just a get together with friends. Would highly recommend!
Have been here before and the tacos were good. This time, the steak seemed greasy and I had to spit out a bit of bone, gristle and fat from the chicken.. not appealing! Off night in the kitchen?
Night our with family
Great for a casual meetup of old friends. As the service can be similarly casual, we smartly ordered a little ahead of our needs. Great spot, great guac.
The food is tasty, but the menu is limited. The margaritas are good, and came in a normal glass, which we liked. Music wasn't too loud (at the front, where we were seated), so conversation was easy.
Quiet, quaint, nice ambience, great food and drinks!
Food was great!
The service was ok.
Our server forgot about us when they got busy, but their colleague quickly stepped in to help.
The food was great! But the service not to good, they need more staff for a Friday night
When the band plays "Besame Mucho" and your waiter sings, you know you're in a good place. Great food and great drinks.
Always a good time here. Good service and great food
We enjoyed this place! The food was great and as well as the drinks! I recommend the spicy shrimp taco, best taco ever! The low light restaurant but prefer that away. Music playing overhead but still able to have conversations. I would return next time I am visiting.
Great food, but a very dark, busy, noisy atmosphere – not ideal for people who prefer a calmer dining experience. So loud at some points it felt like we were eating in the middle of a night club. Knowledgeable servers and amazing cocktails, but barely worth it. Doesn't help that the space is a glorified basement with 0 windows.
You've got two options to enjoy your meal - either inside which is dark and cozy, or up on the patio at El Patio which is airy and casual. Both are good options; downstairs is table service, whereas on the patio it's self serve (no table service, order everything at the bar).
The tacos were not worth it whatsoever. It was expensive for sub-par tacos. The ambience was nice but I would not come back.
The food and drinks were delicious and arrived to our table very quickly. However when we first got to the restaurant the host wasn’t friendly and was sure to let us know there was a reservation at our table after us (in other words “eat and get out”). This made us feel rushed and honestly unwelcomed. We also would’ve stayed for a drink after we ate, however we felt uncomfortable to do this and went elsewhere for a drink.
Concert with girlfriends
Food wasn’t worth the price tag. Guacamole had WAY too much lime and the chips were insanely salty. I also got a margarita that had chilies in it - I thought it would be well mixed and subtly spicy however there were legitimate chunks of chillies floating around the drink. Drinks are also overpriced considering the inauthenticity of the taste. I can also make a margarita and throw cut up chunks of chillies in it. Seemed like the kind of drinks I experiment making at home, only mine taste better. We won’t be coming back here. Waste of money.
Really good night with my wife, I will recommmend to friends for sure
Thoroughly unimpressed with the quality of the food and service. THOROUGHLY
good for drinks not for food, unless one is not really hungry. very small portions. staff is really nice. venue does not look clean.
We stopped here while visiting Toronto for a week. Menu selection minimal, food below average, waiter was friendly. Outdoor deck may have been great for a cocktail but was too busy. More like a stop by for a quick beer post work day. Very casual! Would not go back.
Tacos not very good
But the guacamole + nachos was good
Table we had was ok. Music was way too loud. Ceviche was absolutely horrible. Tacos we’re ok. Service was the best part.
The ambiance was great but the food was overpriced and not satisfactory (my tacos were fridge cold and tasteless). The service was quite bad as well our server was not interested in our table and it was very difficult to get him to come back so we could order more. I wish I had a better experience because I love the vibe in there but will not return because of the overpriced food.
Great margarita pitchers. Fish tacos were the best, patio was packed. First floor is casual, upstairs is fine dining.
Not the greatest tacos or guacamole + chips (especially with portions), but good service. The highlight is definitely the back patio, otherwise a mediocre Mexican spot.
The drinks were quite expensive. For some reason the mini margarita was the same size as the regular priced one, though they did use different tequila - either way it was a little confusing because my friend had thought she was ordering a smaller drink. Other than that the food was very good and the atmosphere was a fun late 20s/early 30s after work crowd.
The huitlacoche empanada is disappointing - if you're looking for actual huitlacoche, you're not going to get it there. The supposed huitlacoche (corn truffle) mix resembles more the taste of beans than anything else, and it comes with a mix of corn, zucchini and red peppers that completely overpowers the taste of huitlacoche (if there's any in there), not to mention that it comes with tons of sour cream and avocado. The tacos and tortillas are pretty good though.
I loved the food here and the service was great, but two complaints. 1. They won’t let you make a patio reservation and 2. You can only order corn on the patio.
We were told that there would be a free birthday dinner for our friend celebrating. When we got there we they told us that is no longer true. We were constantly having get get up to find our server if we wanted to order more drinks or food.
His place was amazing. Patio gets packed pretty quickly. Music was pretty could and could not carry conversation easily, but the food was amazing and the service was fast! Definitely would go back!
