Our server, Mohammed, made our 40th anniversary celebration very special indeed. He was friendly, courteous and very professional. We made the right decision to go to Epic.
The servers were very nice and the food was delicious. I liked that we got a small sample of food that was the special of the day. Also it was a very nice touch with the complimentary dessert for our Anniversary 😁
Definitely a winner, Brunch was superb. The selection from fresh scrambled eggs, sausage with apple, fresh baked muffins and bread, crispy bacon and home fries make for a great buffet. Not to be missed is their super tender roast beef and Yorkshire pudding to top it off. There is a Gluten free area is needed.
Can't wait to go back to Sunday Brunch again
Our experience was excellent both from the point of view of interesting, quality food and service. It is one of our preferred luncheon/dining venues downtown. Thanks to all.
Great food, great time, great atmosphere and great staff.
Very welcoming! Enjoyed our meal and the service was perfect!
Once a year, I meet my Australian friend of over 50 years and we enjoy the Royal York as our place to reconnect. Having made reservations for lunch @ 1:00 p.m., I mentioned to our waiter that we would be enjoying a long lunch and we’re not in a hurry. Having said that, we both felt rushed through our luncheon by our servers and also , kept coming back to our table to settle the bill. Instead of a relaxed lunch, this time I felt it was spoiled by our servers who were intent on rushing us .
My first experience at Epic was lovely. Went for the weekend brunch buffet, and it was a delightful over- indulgence. From the prime rib, to eggs benedict/ omelet station, as well as the amazing baked goods, the brunch selection and quality was amazing. Noise level is very low and service was impeccable.
The service at the EPIC restaurant was absolutely outstanding. I was celebrating my birthday and the staff went the extra mile to ensure that I felt special. The staff were genuinely kind, thoughtful and quick on their feet. The food was prepared well and was very tasty. I have already recommended this restaurant to many of my friends. I had an amazing time!
What a gem! Where's it's almost impossible to find a restaurant in which you can actually hear the person sitting with you and it doesn't feel like the guy at the next table is sitting on your lap, the subdued experience at Epic was refreshing and delightful. Big, comfy chairs. Great food. I had the salmon and tuna (similar to sashimi) on a bed of greens that was wonderful. Service was very attentive, although the lime provided for my water was dry. Close to Union Station.
Everything from food to staff was amazing
Our server was attentive without being overly pushy. I was there to catch up with an old friend, so we lingered for a couple hours, but at no point did we feel rushed. Even though my birthday was a couple days before our reservation, your staff somehow knew and wished me a happy birthday. Great touch!
The restaurant EPIC meets and exceeds the fine dining standard we have come to expect when dining at a Fairmont property. The atmosphere was quietly elegant, the service attentive and professional and the food worthy of five stars. We will return and will most certainly recommend it to others.
Wonderful restaurant with excellent food and attentive service all in a comfortable setting. Too bad Epic will close this summer for a 9 month reconstruction.
Have been before. A;ways enjoyed. Expensive, but there is delivery on that threshold.Smooth waitstaff, beautiful presentation, ample servings, good range of choices. All top grade.
This was a last minute decision based solely on somewhere close to the transit system. Glad we choose here. Our waiter was amazing and guided us well in our choices. He also listened and realised it was my husbands birthday and at the end of the meal brought a slice of "birthday mouse". I eas trying to find a special place for my traveling husband that had a 4hr lay over. Perfect!
My first cup of coffee was warm but not hot.
Eggs Benedict was cold.
No desserts/ sweets on the Sunday brunch buffet.
Service was good-staff friendly.
special anniversary and the staff came through with superb service, excellent food and general fine-dining experience.
I was dining alone last night - in town fir a convention, and made my reservation 45 minutes before the meal. I was tired, and dudn’t want to leave the hotel. It’s an older restaurant in the Fairmont Royal York that could probably use some updating, although it is well maintained, and has a sort if timelessness to the decor. However, the service is the way I remember great service, with career, professional waiters, made mostly male, who were extremely attentive, and the suggestions and advice I received were spot-on. The food was nicely presented, prepared just the way I requested (duck breast - medium rare), the suggested wines were perfect, and once my waiter had a feel fir the pace of the meal I was looking for, he timed everything perfectly. There was no rush at all, despite a steady stream of customers. That’s the sign of a pro. Menu selection is somewhat limited, but was adequate for my needs. It was a perfect dining experience for what I was after. I look forward to one meal here every year. Haven’t been disappointed yet.
Quality brunch with a great atmosphere inside the most charming hotel in Toronto. The brunch is heavily weighted towards breakfast (custom made omelettes/eggs), lots of amazing breakfast pastries, several breakfast meats (sausages, bacons etc). There was some amazing prime rib but that is kind of it for lunch (a couple salads to accompany). All you can drink coffee and orange juice made this a great brunch for a reasonable price (35 Canadian). Definitely would go again for a grand old fashioned brunch!
the quality of the food was reason for chosing the Epic and well appointed details and waiters were excellent. I would return with a featured menu using the roof-top garden: please advise me of this. One of my top choices of Toronto restaurants based on the food quality.
The staff is super nice! Love them
service was superb, and food was tasty and well presented! would recommend to others
They are always very helpful. We will be back. thanks!
The food is great for the value. Will surely come again
Food was amazing. High quality and well prepared. High priced.. 2 of us was $260. Was a very quiet place so we had great conversation with friends which made for a very enjoyable evening out. The decor is very dated.... very clean but "hello 90's"
Great drinks and food and quiet enough to have a discussion in a relaxed fashion.
Fantastic service. We spilled some water and we were quickly brought to another table. In addition we received such goodies as an amuse bouche, macaroon desserts and even a complimentary Perrier to bring back to the room
The set prix meal is a great deal! Great food, healthy cooking, great service, quiet! Décor may be a bit outdated but everything else is great
Limited menu options . Need to provide some more lunch options.
Excellent service, amazing food, but expensive.
Love this place, excellent customer service, top notch food, perfect flavours, feel very special when i eat there
My brother's birthday. So happened Winterlious, we are happy for the lunch gathering.
It was an excellent dinning experience. You will not be disappointed at all. The food and service were top notch.
We were there for winterlicious. The food was good and service was excellent. I lik specially the kids menu. The price was decent and it was affordable and definitely not overpriced and can afford to revisit many times.
All was competent and professional. Menu does not disappoint.
I may be biased because I was given a breakfast voucher for the buffet and therefore didn’t pay for my meal, but that said, the fruit was impeccably presented (peeled grapefruit! What a luxury!), the muesli was the most delicious I have ever had—complete with cherries, the scrambled eggs were flavoured just right, and I could have eaten the mushrooms all day. Expensive, but if you have a good appetite, may well be worth it.
What a grand experience we enjoyed at Epic! Although we attended during Winterlicious, we opted to order off the regular menu. We were warmly greeted by the host and immediately escorted to our table. The waitstaff was attentive without being disruptive, and took care to keep our wine glasses full. The food (we had the lobster bisque and crab cakes to start followed by the scallops and branzino) was beautifully presented and quite delicious. We followed with decaf, port, and chocolate cake. The room was quiet and our table felt private and intimate. Highly recommend! Thanks, Epic for providing us with our most memorable meal while visiting Toronto.
We went for Winterlicious an were not particularly impressed. Salad was nice. Soup was ordinary. Flank steak was a little chewy. Did not seem to be marinated. Sauce was nice. Could have done with more since the steak hadn't been marinated. Desert was just okay
Overall we were not impressed
Service was very good
