Incredible food and service!! I would highly recommend both dine in and take out.
Fantastic as usual. We hope to be back early in the New Year.
If you want to get the most of your dining experience for an affordable price then Ernest’s at NAIT is the place to go for a buffet. There was enough delicious food to last a single person a whole year. Between the students serving and creating the dishes, I love supporting that innovative energy.
Great food and great value. Students do their best to make great meals.
Eating at Ernest is a lovely experience to anyone, if you are intimidated by fine dining and feel you don't know what to do? Don't worry Ernest will help you understand and guide you through what the experience should be like and how to behave in a high class dining room!
The food was fabulous and the service was great. My son said it was his best birthday party ever.
Amazing meal from beginning to end
Thank you to the chefs and staff
Food was delicious and very well presented. Great service.
We love eating at Earnest's for several reasons, but mainly because the food is always well prepared, tasty, contains local ingredients and served with style. The students are always enthusiastic, their instructors are also at hand and we've always been welcomed from the time we enter the restaurant to the time we leave. All in all a wonderful restaurant in Edmonton.
The entire experience was amazing. The food was fantastic and our sever was awesome. Will definitely be visiting again.
Enjoyed our food there. Good food, creative composition.
Excellent food, excellent price. Only complaint was the pheasant was a little tough for us, but then again, we've never tried pheasant, so might just not be for us. Otherwise the rest of the meal was delicious. Super friendly wait staff, get different pitchers though, something easier to pour, 3 of the staff who poured water spilled a little on the table, not their fault though, the pitchers lip is massive.
Because of COVID, the ambience was stark compared to what I was used to Ernests.
My friend suggested we try this out as her daughter is in the program and she knows we are avid foodies. We were not disappointed! It was the buffet day so we got to try everthing, we can't wait to go back another time when in Edmonton again.
As always, the food was outstanding and professionally presented. We have decided to make Ernest’s a regular spot for a nice evening out.
This was my third or fourth meal at Ernests. Each time was amazing. This is Edmonton's best kept secret!
Super good value however executive chef wasn’t that executive. Food quality was average for executive chef. More like student quality preparation. Great stuff. Good value
All Staff were enthusiastic and most aware of following covid protocol
The information regarding Other options for example wine tasting evenings and for takeout was offered and was appreciated. Again another positive experience for us having quality fine dining experience.
Outstanding value and quality on the Friday lunch
We had forgotten what a great dining experience Ernest's provides. Loved it. Awesome students working - so important to support them.
Good food, good service, nice place for a celebration.
Great place great food. First time here and I brought my family for lunch , best lunch ever
Absolutely wonderful food and service! Give this restaurant a try for lunch and dinner. Great value for such great food.
This was our first time at Ernests the meal, servers and atmosphere was fabulous .
This is our new favorite restaurant!
Awesome meal again. The Thai Butternut Squash soup with crab cake was delicious along with the tuna and scallop ceviche, although be warned, the ceviche is not what you expect for ceviche. It is not cooked by the lime juice, it is raw tuna and scallops, more like sashimi. Duck breast and herbed spatzle and rack of lamb was also delicious. I was too full for dessert but want the warm gingerbread cake so my husband order it. One bite was enough to tell me what I was missing... I could have taken a dozen home. Presentation is always one of Ernest’s forte. We had haven’t eaten inside a restaurant during Covid until now, Ernest’s has placed tables well apart and have separate in and out doors. Only thing we missed was the 3 types of butters with the bread items, minor. Thank you again for a great meal. One of the few 5 star restaurants left in Edmonton.
My wife and I went for dinner because we wanted to experience the next generation of chefs and hospitality staff. Every dish we ordered was prepared to a very high standard and met all the fine dining elements - good presentation, cooked to perfection, quality ingredients and superb flavours - service was friendly and warm but professional. Very happy that we chose to go to Ernest's. We are also happy that eating at the restaurant is a way of helping NAIT sustain the very high standards that they set for their culinary and hospitality management programs. Very pleased!
Wow! I was so impressed with the food here! Honestly, one of the top 3 meals I have ever eaten. So packed with flavour and the presentation was beautiful. A three course gourmet meal for $25 ! You can't go wrong. I will definitely be going again!
It was amazing - we were disappointed that it was not student nights but the food and service was great.
I took my friend there for her 60th Birthday Lunch. Have not visited Ernest's for some time. From the moment we stepped in the door to when we left we felt so special. Chase and Vince were so wonderful. The food was done to perfection. A five star meal for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back.
Everyone who wants a wonderful gourmet lunch or dinner should try Ernest's.
Amazing food, amazing service, extremely well priced for the quality, cannot recommend enough
Service was excellent. 5 of our 6 ordered the tenderloin and one had a lot of grizzle. Other than that, food, ambience and service was excellent. Definitely would love to go again.
We have been at this restaurant numerous times before and always were extremely impressed by the service, quality and ambience. However, this time we were extremely disappointed, predominantly by the quality of the food - in particular, with the sirloin steak entrée, as well as the strawberry tart dessert. With the entrée, although the steak was requested to be medium well (with emphasis on the well side) done, it was served almost rare. After pointing this out, the kitchen tried to correct it, but the steak came again , still on the pink side, and contained at least 1/3 grizzle. In addition, the accompanying vegetables were tasteless, and, in particular, the broccolini tasted like straw dipped into charcoal. The tart portion of the dessert was not baked thoroughly, and was so hard that it was virtually impossible to eat it with utensils. All of this was especially disappointing, as we were told that the instructor himself was the head chef for the evening. It will now be difficult for us to reccomend this establishment to our friends and colleagues, as we have done this extensively in the past.
Very good effort in preparing the foods, the taste and the presentation of food. Especially the desserts.
Though found the food somewhat cold. Service is slow and needs to be improved.
Decor was super springy too — loved it!
Great job!
My first experience was fantastic so decided to bring invite more friends. This was my second time At Ernest and although I loved the service and ambiance. Food was poor overall this time around. Entree should at least be hot but for some reason even though it was on the warmer it was still cold...
Excellent lunch, 4.5 stars only because students take a little extra time- still a short but wonderful 1 course lunch- 65 minutes for Main and bread.
Awesome experience! Dont know why we let years pass between visits. Have already recommended it to friends. The food and service were superb.
Amazing presentation of the food and service was outstanding.
An absolute delight, with a three-course meal, which was delicious, aesthetically-pleasing, and contained large portions.
Food quality excellent. Dare I say - desserts half the size of what was served would be appreciated. They were so good but very large portions.
