Tasting menu was a little disappointing. Two springs rolls cut in half; a pierce of lamb left in a sous vide way to long, disintegrated into the texture of a processed meat patty (heaps of cilantro on top, no sides), and three chocolates for dessert. $50 is inexpensive but when you break down what was served, the economy of scale was off. The pork chop was the winner. Will go with standard proteins next time and a side. Wine list was all basic wines you find at BCL and nothing inspiring. Cocktails were delish.

I took my cousin for lunch and unfortunately, she found two hairs in her burger. They took it off the bill, which was nice but still it ruined the meal.

The meal and service were excellent, although both myself and my companion ordered coffee drinks to go with dessert that we found lacking. If we hadn't ordered coffee, we would have nothing but high praises to sing for the restaurant.

Super disappointing our first experience at Fable Kitchen. I was taking my friends from Seattle who were in town to celebrate US Thanksgiving. I wish I had chosen to take them elsewhere. I had been wanting to try Fable for a long time since it is a Michelin Bib Gourmand. However, the food was poorly prepared. I did the 3 course tasting and the risotto was the saltiest I've ever had. The "main" which was a piece of squash was rock hard in the center. We sat for 1.5 hrs before our mains arrived. The wine tasting I ordered was not presented with each dish. I had to ask for the pairing each time. The dessert was the most disturbing experience I've had of a dessert ever, a cheese fondue with bland white cake, picked grapes and pecans... They forgot to bring the dessert pairing at all but I was still charged for it. I didn't realize that I didn't get the pairing until after we left since I was so disturbed by the whole meal. On the positive side, our server was friendly. The kitchen comped the cocktail I ordered at the beginning of the night to compensate for the salty risotto and took 10% off the main dish which was the squash since it was rock hard. (Not a very satisfactory situation since I didn't even get all of my pairings, the service was super slow and the food was the worst I've had in Vancouver.)

Food was very delicious, had the duck meatball, gnocchi, duck breast, and bread. All were very good hard to find anything wrong with these. If I had to be nitpicky, I wish the sauce on the meatball tagliatelle wasn't as strong/cheesey but it was still very good. Service was just perfect too, very attentive and friendly. Our family enjoyed the various lemonade flavours, especially the kids. Will certainly go back to Fable.

I don’t understand why a restaurant would allow us to book a table for a 1:30pm lunch and then tell us (multiple times until we left) that they close at 2pm. Extremely disappointing. We had a “girl’s lunch” planned. Do you actually expect people to eat and run? We had little choice. We won’t be in a hurry to go back. Unfortunately the food didn’t blow us away either. My friends and I frequent restaurants and often need a place to take clients for both lunch and dinner meetings. We all agreed that we wouldn’t go back to Fable. We thought you were a bit more upscale… Simply not a great experience and definitely not cool!
