This is one of our neighborhood restaurants. We want to embrace it as an alternative to the other neighbor hood places that are also good or great but very casual. However we struggle to return more than once a year. Don't get us wrong. The food is excellent, the staff are great, and there is a lovely patio. Our frustration is that most of the wine list is in excess of $100 a bottle, which seems odd for a casual spot. And while the food is delicious, at $28 on average for a pasta dish, the portions are very modest and if they do contain meat, there is less than 2 oz per dish. We are not looking for third rate massive portions but when you want a pizza for dessert after shared starters and a pasta dish, this does not seem right. The large charcuterie platter had delicious meat and cheeses, but again the portions were absurdly modest with 3 crackers for 4 people. We really want to love this place but it just seems to miss the mark on price point.

Even though I had a reservation for 7:15 it was almost 8 by the time we were seated at our table. But once seated the food and ambience were fantastic.

This was my first time at F'Amelia and I will absolutely be back! We sat outside on the patio and it was lovely. We ordered the Octopus as an appetizer and the ladagna and linguine primavera for entrees. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly!

Next time I will be trying the pizza!

Not our usual experience at this community “Local”! Plusses first! Our hostess at F’Amelia is, and always has been the best! We were seated promptly, served water and wine orders taken. Received our appetizers in good time and they were very good (the octopus salad is yummy). Then, a strange thing happened! We had to wait for over 45 minutes plus for our mains, while the neighbouring two tables (who arrived after us - actually one while we were having our salads) received their mains well before us! No explanation or apology from our waiter! Our second round of wine orders were mixed up as well! My pizza was very good, but my wife’s evening “special” consisted of halibut on a risotto that tasted of nothing at all!! Not the type of experience One expects after dropping over $250 on a dinner!

This was a disappointing meal. We went to F'Amelia and ordered from the Summerlicious menu. Our first disappointment was to be told by our waiter that one of the three appetizers was not available that evening, nor was the fish main course, nor was one of the three desserts listed. The food we ordered was fine, especially the scallop ceviche appetizer, which was very good. The arugula salad was fine, just a pile of arugula with a bit of cheese on top. Our main courses arrived while our appetizer plates were still on the table, and had to be moved aside to make room for our food. (We were also told to hold on to our cutlery.) One of the main course we ordered was the osso bucco. This is typically a solid piece of veal, around a bone. One of the highlights of this dish is eating the marrow from the bone. F'Amelia's version came with maybe 4 oz. of shredded meat piled on to the centre of the plate of polenta. Whatever you can call that dish, it wasn't osso bucco. Ordering dessert, we were now told that a second of the three desserts was no longer available. If we had walked in to the restaurant past 10pm on a busy evening, it would be completely understandable that much of the menu was no longer available. When you sit down a 8pm on a Saturday evening, this is not acceptable.

The restaurant had very loud rock music . Unusual to expect in an Italian restaurant.
Food was OK but expensive in relation to everything else about the restaurant. Wine seemed very expensive.
Service was good and in fact a bit too speedy.

OK for a neighbourhood restaurant but otherwise not very unique.

Visiting our son in Toronto. Wanted to get out of downtown into a more quiet neighborhood setting. The internet helped us find F'Amelia. The outdoor patio was lovely. The staff were very friendly. The food was quite good. My wife found the lasagna a little too meaty, but she likes vegetables..... Would go back anytime and our son will recommend to his Toronto friends.

Also Known As Tanya's Place to those who know it well.
This was not our first visit. It has topped our favourites list since the first time we experienced it. The food is excellent, pasta, risotto, pizza - ALL delicious.
The service is friendly, hospitable and attentive. Wednesday is wine night, every bottle over $100 is half price. We've been going for several years, enough to be considered regulars - well worth the drive from Markham to Amelia & Parliament. Can't say enough about how Tanya and the staff welcome you as if as a guest in their own home.
Only one objection - I should be allowed SIX or more stars instead of only 5.

Had such a great experience at F'Amelia on Wednesday night. The patio is so quaint and comfortable for the sunset, with amazing food, and wine. Our server was quirky and delightful with great knowledge of the menu offering us vegetarian options and great conversation. The family neighbourhood vibe makes you feel out of the city and at a cottage in Muskoka during the week.

They really know how to take care of you. The service was on point and the food was definitely worth it.
The best part, they read and try their best to follow up with your requests that you make on OpenTable. So if you ask for a bottle of wine to be ready as soon as you get to the table, they’ll actually do it. If you want a special message written on a dessert item, they’ll do it too!

The hostess was distracted and dealing with some billing problem when we arrived so we had to wait for our reserved table. She did apologize for this lack of proper greeting. Our server was much more on--focused and knowledgeable with good recommendations. The grilled octopus was tender but not exceptionally flavourful. We shared the pasta with lamb meatballs ( lamb was in small hard balls...likely a bit overcooked). Pizza was smokey, crisp and fresh. Nice atmosphere inside or out. Restaurant was quiet for a Friday--perhaps due to Pride weekend in TO? Great to be back in Cabbagetown!

A few excellent choices for our vegan crowd! The chef makes nut ricotta in-house, and it is divine on the pizzas in place of regular cheese. They can also make one of their risottos without cheese, and it was superb. One of their pastas has no egg. They were incredibly gracious both times I've been there with multiple people in our party being vegan.
