The four of us all enjoyed our meals. The waitress was very responsive and pleasant. Interpreting restaurant.
Great service and a really comfortable environment. Friendly staff and they take reservations for brunch. What more could you ask for ?
Amazing food and service. The vibe is very chill and relaxing.
Food is always excellent. Love the vegan options. Great local beer and wine. Helpful and friendly servers.
Lovely place for foodies. I am always very happy for their roasted vegetables, and my meat-eating friends have a blast. They need someone to help them with desserts, though.
Great brunch! Great Benny.
Love being able to make a reservation.
Food was very good. Nice setting. Really good service. Definitely will go back.
We waited 90mins for our meal on what looked like regular Friday night service
The restaurant was freezing cold to the point I was wearing my jacket inside
The server was so laid back she didn’t explain the menu options or pay attention to the fact we were waiting over an hour with no food
The vegan feast which you would think would be next level at farm to table restaurant was bland and oily and overall disappointing
For 4 people with wine pairing and shared app our meal was $250 + tip which didn’t feel in line with our experience.
Always love a farmhouse visit, everything is so good!
Amazing service and the food was so flavourful! I'll definitely be back!
Food was great and the ambiance is too, but the bathroom definitely needs more constant cleaning...
Great eats, great atmosphere. Cozy little brunch spot.
We had a family brunch on a Saturday for 8 people and everyone loved the food, the service and did I say food? The quality of our meal was outstanding!
Warmly welcoming and friendly service. Food was very flavourful and came quickly. Butter is the star in many dishes (no complaints about that - love butter!!) only criticism is that portions are smallish for the price - especially the vegetable sides to the main courses. No children’s menu, but high chairs available and very welcoming staff.
I was really disappointed in my experience at Farmhouse Tavern recently. I have been coming here for special occasions since at least 2015, including hosting a birthday brunch in the past. I was shocked at how poor the service was. I felt like the server was treating my friends and I with condescension. He flat-out ignored me when I tried to get his attention at one point to order another drink. He was moody and sullen and it really detached from the mood. Other people in my party noticed and commented on the servers crappy attitude as well. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back. I want to celebrate my birthday in a place that appreciates my patronage and that treats my friends and I with the respect me deserve. Such a shame because the food is good!
Had the brunch burger and it was the best burger I’ve ever had in my life!
Everything was average and quite frankly I can do a better job at home. I also do not like restaurant that skimp and that includes dressing for the salad even what you ask for more as the salad was not dressed.
Also the sliver of bacon that came with the meal.
Al in all ok, but I will not return.
When we first walked in the ambiance was great (and throughout the meal). There was a price fixe menu, which I didn’t realize when booking (I had been looking forward to their typical menu for months). The server did not know the answers to quite a few questions about their main craft beers and wines. She went to ask and came back, which was nice. Of the three mains that were on the menu, one of us tried each. The cod was by far the best, very well cooked and the celery root paired well with it. The fowl was very well cooked also. My mom eats gluten and dairy free so she got the vegan harvest. It came out cold one time, I believe the manager brought it back to the kitchen. When it came back out it was warm, the Brussel sprouts coming out of the squash were essentially raw and with corn as the other vegetable. She graciously came back and asked how it was and my mom explained it was raw and the squash was dry. She very nicely brought it back and they prepared it a different way which was nice and they took it off the bill. Overall it was a good experience as they were very accommodating to fix the problem. I think if the dish was supposed to be raw, explaining that in advance would have been helpful. I really liked the choice of local beer and wine. I would go back but would like to try the typical menu!
We unfortunately had a terrible experience here when we came for dinner in December. Even with a reservation we waited for a table for quite some time. Then we continues to wait for water and even a drink order. It appeared that only one waitress was working the entire place which was packed! This seemed very unfair to her but she continued to smile and was very polite.
As we waited to order we waited 3 meals be sent back to the kitchen. One fish dish and 2 chicken dishes. We placed our orders of appetizers and mains with hesitation. The French onion soup was very disappointing. Not at all what someone would expect on a cold winter evening. It was just a bowl of thin broth with some sparse onions and none of the hot cheese and sourdough that is typical for the dish.
Next came our mains. My fish was nice however the chicken was way undercooked. We asked our waitress if that was intentional and she said no that it was raw and took it back for a new one.
This all took 2 people 2 hours for dinner at a place with 4 items on the menu. We left disheartened and will not be returning. I hope things improve as the area could use a nice place for date night dinners however in its current state, the farmhouse tavern is not it.
Awesome experience eating here with a party of 9! We had a few food preferences (gluten free, vegan) which were accommodated no problem. The food was delish - and local! The prix fixe menu was amazing for the price - servings were huge. I would have been fine with just the appetizer. We also got the entire duck for half of the table, and from what I heard, it was awesome. Everyone left happy and full.
Great craft beer and wine selection as well.
It was a nice casual brunch. We had a group of seven and were lucky enough to be seated in the back private room. The dining area in the main room was quite loud.
The menu is small and basic but had enough creative twist to make it very tasty.
Our wait staff was fabulous.
Will definitely be back.
Great dinner! We went for our anniversary and they made our evening very special. Started us off with some complimentary sparkling cider, excellent service all night and delicious meal! Would definitely recommend.
Amazing place to eat. Food is consistently good. They don’t overdo their menu items so that each item is delicious, well made and has great ingredients. You can taste the quality.
Only two standard egg items on the already small brunch menu, 3/4 of the menu was devoted to alcoholic drinks, and the only juice available was orange and it wasn’t even freshly squeezed. And when we called to say we’d be 10 mins late, and then arrived 10 mins after our reservation time of 11 am, they were only focused on pointing out that we were late, and making sure we knew that the next reservation was at 12:30 so we’d have to be done by then. No cheery hello, no “no worries,” nothing like that. It felt very impersonal corporate somehow and was so unwelcoming! My last time there over a year ago was much nicer.
One of our favourite restaurants in Toronto, always fresh and incredible!
Great atmosphere and service. But the fish dish really wasn't that good, not good value either. If I go back the burger looked great !!
This restaurant is a great option for weekend brunch. It is one of the few restaurants in the City that takes brunch reservations, so no waiting in line! The food is great - I recommend the barnyard burger!
It was great
Go for the Sunday deals! Parking is a bit challenging but the half price food for its quality is worth it. And its really good food.
No alternative milks available for coffee
People that had arrived after us were served and ate before we had even ordered
Meh! Underwhelming. The Ontario wine was the best thing about dinner. To begin, the B in the BLT salad were indistinguishable chunks of dryness and the salad was limp before completion. The hassleback potato that came with the steak special was burnt on the outside, undercooked inside, The trout special was nicely presented, flavours were good but the roasted veg that accompanied it was not cooked. Finally the beet risotto was poorly done. Way too much beet purée for the amount of rice. Food needs to be checked better before leaving the kitchen. This could all have been avoided with better guidance from the chef on duty. If the food is not up to par, don’t send it out!!
First visit did not disappoint. It’s a little eclectic, with a limited menu, but that’s part of the charm. Dishes are well prepared, service was quite attentive. Menu is constantly changing per host, so enjoy and go with the flow.
Loved the food!! Service was great -although food took slightly longer than my hungry child liked :)
The space was a little crowded but otherwise, child friendly in that sense that they were on the ball with getting us a high chair and making sure we had small plates, etc. - but keep in mind, not the most stroller friendly.
Otherwise, awesome place, highly recommend it and will definitely be back!!! :)
Awesome feel, great food, knowledgeable staff. A true farmhouse feel in the city. Well done!
We went to the Farmhouse Tavern to celebrate a birthday. This was our first visit and we loved the cozy atmosphere. You felt as if you were at a friend's country cabin. The service was excellent and we liked the fact that the food is locally sourced. The fact that they offer vegetarian selections makes it extra special. The only thing we would like to see is larger portions! We will happily return!
Food was horrible. Service was not good. We waited a long time to get awful food. Raw broccoli for $7!!
Food was great, but our waitress was very cold and unfriendly. We felt rushed even though there was plenty of tables free. It's too bad because I would go back for the food.
I've been to the Farmhouse Tavern several times and love going there with carnivore friends since they do an amazing job preparing meat dishes. The food was terrific, the room was nice and cozy, and the service super friendly, attentive and accommodating as usual. My only complaint was the wait staff kept trying to take dishes away before we were finished eating – we had to keep reiterating that we weren't finished. I could understand the rush if there was a wait for tables, but that wasn't the case. I do hope they relax a bit on the plate clearing obsession, it's a great spot to linger, share dishes and enjoy a few cocktails in the evening.
It was a delightful evening! Delicious, creative cuisine, beautifully served. We had the Ploughman platter first and really enjoyed the duck, cheeses and pickled vegetables and fruits. Warning: it is a lot to eat! (Especially given what was to come.) The food that followed was excellent in its simple goodness. The ribeye steak was one of the most succulent, wonderfully flavourful (yet essentially unadorned) pieces of meat I have tasted in a long time. The ratatouille was delicately-flavoured, the grilled broccoli properly cooked. The sommelier chose some excellent Ontario wines to complement our food choices. The wait staff was cheeky, helpful, fun and welcoming. Thanks for the great hospitality...we will be back!
Amazing breakfast! The service was really good too! The ambiance is really nice for a Sunday brunch :)
