The food was exquisite. The service was gracious, professional, and friendly. This was perhaps the best food we have ever had for brunch.
First time. Fun brunch, delicious food and awesome service. The only tea option was orange pekoe, but the server supplied us with hot water without missing a beat.
Fantastic Brunch! Cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
Great spot with amazing food
Just a get together to catch up with a friend. Waitress was amazing and the food was awesome.
Friendly and accommodating wait-staff, a first class experience from the moment of stepping inside from a fairly nondescript city corner in Toronto's emerging west-end enclave. The action in the kitchen, a playful choreography of skill and artistry by a non-pretentious culinary team, sets the backdrop for the evening. A carnivore's dream, you will also find at least two offerings of fish, prepped to perfection. The counterpoint of a relaxed (but professional) presentation and a perfectly timed, creative and boldly flavoured dish is a hit. Come in jeans and plaid or silk and suit jacket, either way you'll feel right at home and more than well-sated after an evening with the gang. Thanks...looking forward to next evening together..!
We had a larger party for brunch (6) and so were seated at room at back. I don’t think the overall experience would have been as enjoyable in front as it’s much more diner feel- quite crowded and loud. It was lovely to have that back space.
The service was friendly and efficient, the food and menu were OUTSTANDING. Great value- large portions and everyone in the party loved their food. We are brunch people and this and BeechTree in east end the top two in city, imho.
Can’t recommend more highly! 🙌🏻
Great little restaurant with fantastic food. Friendly service. The only opportunity for improvement would be to have more of the posted wines / drinks available. Seems they had run out of a few of their listed items.
It was my first time there. We were a group of 6 people for brunch. The service was fabulous. They accommodated special requests and the food was delicious, fresh and local. I will definitely be going back for dinner.
Food is quite good. Plowman's Platter was delicious top to bottom. Our venison was unfortunately over cooked. Service was a bit spotty as they were training someone. Strangely, the trainee was more attentive and pleasant than the veteran. And a very loud dining room. Generally, a positive experience, just a couple of missteps.
The food quality, preparation and presentation were all 5 star. Comfortable cosy atmosphere
We've been wanting to try Farmhouse Tavern for a few years and finally made it there. The food was amazing, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and we LOVED that the music was just the right level that we could have good conversation and appreciate the tunes. Thanks and we'll be back!
Amazing! I would definitely return. Great food and service.
I’ve always wanted to try Farmhouse tavern and my partner and I finally did and it was great! Service was great, our server was very friendly and the food was fantastic. Would definitely go back again!
We visited FT because it made a list of top 25 Brunch places in the city. Fine. Sat outside. A bit noisy with traffic, and the wind left us wondering if we were going to be impaled by one of the massive umbrellas. When the server (who was pleasant, by the way) approached us without menus, pointed to a chalkboard and said everything the restaurant offered was on the board, I thought: oh dear. “Bacon and eggs?” I asked. Nope. Didn’t serve such a thing. They then recited what the restaurant offered. (By that point I was already thinking I had made a poor choice, and struggled to actually listen to everything the server was saying.) After what seemed like an endless array of ways to have duck eggs, the “steak and eggs for two” sounded like the closest option to what we originally wanted, plus it came with chicken eggs. The meal arrived, and included a steak that could have easily been for one person, two sunny side up eggs, a small salad, and two slices of sourdough toast. The steak was good, the eggs were meh, the toast was fine, the salad was fine.
But the meal could’ve easily been breakfast for one hungry (-ish) person Under *no* circumstances - none - was it worth $52. Nope. Unh uh.
After the second coffee refill, the server asked us each time if a “half cup was okay.” Couldn’t help but feel as though they were being stingy with the coffee.
Other items on the menu might be worth the $ spent. But that initial experience, the recitation of the menu (“pay attention, keep track”) and price tag, left a bad taste in our mouths. We’ll not return to find out.
Great good, great reasonably priced wine selection, great ambiance. Really good use of herbs across all dishes, very balanced and fresh. Would definitely go again!
I celebrated my birthday here and the food was amazing. Oysters were delicious as were our main courses. I like that the menu is not 6 pages long. Everything is fresh and made in front of you. I liked where we sat as we got to see the kitchen. I wound recommend this place. Thank you!
Great meal and the place is comfortable excellence. We always enjoy it.
I had an excellent brunch which was the vegetarian option. Small menu was great and not overwhelming. We sat outside on the cute little patio. Our server was so sweet and informative. I would definitely go back, and recommend this to anyone looking for a cute brunch spot.
Family night out. Easy to reserve a table on this site. Food was phenomenal, love the hourly bell ringing to announce specials. Waitstaff were spectacular, friendly and knowledgeable on the food and beverages available.
Always a good choice. And great, Sunday special. Great Vegetarian/vegan option as well!
Everything was wonderful but we did have to wait a very long time for the second round of drinks and water! Food was spectacular and service staff were friendly.
Although the service and ambiance were good and the food was decent, I expected more for the price.
Service was great and the food was even better!
Brunch on Saturday morning was great - you get what you get, and you like what you get!!
Brunch: The food was not only exceptional but also very reasonably priced. Both me and my fiance were surprised at how cheap the meal was considering the high quality of the food (everything was clearly made in house). The pricing was easily on par with many breakfast chains and portions were no smaller except fires which is an extra add on but, GET THE FRIES! So goooood. Also, the ability to make a reservation at brunch is a huge plus. I would choose restaurant every time over lower quality, higher priced places and having to wait in line. Excited to try their dinner. 10/10
Food was amazing! Best eggplant!
Great night on the patio - food and service with excellent.
Went for buck-a-shuck Thursday night, sat on the patio. Our server's name was Jay, he was fabulous! Oysters were what you would expect for buck-a-shuck night. Wine was cold. All was good!
Great food, having a private room was a nice surprise so I don’t think the noise level rating is representative since we were separate. Definitely coming back
FarmHouse Tavern simply a place that never disappoints. Well worth the outing. Thank you!!
We will be back for sure!
We have been here many times but not in a few years. Food was good but had veered away from sharing and was less inventive. Out of several wines on the list. More high quality tavern than the rustic fine dining I recalled. Still good and reasonably priced.
Food and service were fantastic - a very comfortable vibe. Nothing is rushed and everything about the meal was clearly well thought out and delicious! F*ck Monday’s is a total treat!
Brunch menu was solid: savoury and sweet options. Get there early as they ran out of one of their signature items just before we got there.
Portions were just right: didn’t leave you feeling overly stuffed for the rest of the day.
We always have a good meal here.
Glad that they had veg and vegan options but the decor is definitely very animal-y (FYI for non-meat eaters who may be bothered by it). Good service, and I really like the farm-to-fork concept. The food was yummy (I had the kale Benny) but the portion felt small (eggs on biscuit and salad). A potato or another starchy side dish would have been nice. My bf had to order a second plate.
I was really excited to visit Farmhouse Tavern as I heard great things about the food and the ever changing menu. I went with four of my friends and we were able to get a table on the outdoor patio which was beautiful. I must say the food did not disappoint (I had the barnyard burger, it was delicious!). However, our experience with their wine was terrible. We ordered a bottle of Riesling and the waitress brought it over for us to taste and serve. During the tasting, I very quickly realized the wine was warm and tasted a lot like vinegar so we asked the waitress if we could switch to another wine. She told us that they do not usually take a wine bottle back after tasting (which defeats the purpose of offering a tasting in the first place!). After some back and forth she agreed to switch our bottle to a Pinot Grigio. However, that bottle of wine was warm too even with keeping it in an ice bucket! We decided to not make a scene and drink the bottle however, that must have been the worst bottle of wine I've ever had. I will say the waitress was pleasant with us and tried her best to be hospitable however, it seems the restaurant does not have a great wine serving policy.... I would not recommend if you like to drink wine with your food. If you're just interested in just eating, this place is definitely worth the visit.
Really FANTASTIC place for comfortable, sumptuous meal with friends. Perfect setting outside on the patio, knowledgeable and easy going waitperson, a truly outstanding food. We particularly appreciated the commitment to minimizing food waste, and the creativity of the dishes. I'd go again in a heartbeat!
Sunday night is super special at Farmhouse.
Hourly specials, delicious cocktails, great craft beer selection, and the food is out of this world. Thoughtfully prepared and served.
