Opened in 2017. Michelin-recommended since 2022."We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great burger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s kind-of-a-bistro and kind-of-a-diner with an internationally inspired menu which is representative of the diverse cultures in Toronto.Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees. Service was a bit slower than usual, but in all fairness the patio was very busy. Our server was still very pleasant and accommodating.

Love Donna’s and always enjoy the food. A couple notes about the current menu. There are so many dishes on bread. We went with a group of 4 and basically ordered the full menu minus a few dishes and so much of it is served on bread or a cracker. Both the pea salad and green salad are 10/10. The mackerel is 10/10. The snapper was delicious but the dish was over salted. We got the steak and it was thin, tough and just not that great. I’ll still be back and enjoyed it. Just felt there was too much of the same with the bread dishes and steak was a let down.

I celebrated my birthday at Gateau Ghost with a group of friends, and it was absolutely amazing. The food was beyond delicious every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. Even with a larger table, the service was seamless and attentive, and the team made sure everything ran smoothly. It was the perfect spot to mark a special occasion, and I’m already looking forward to coming back for dinner. Highly recommend for both celebrations and great meals with friends! Cookingwithsamm
