Best Date Night Restaurants in Cabbagetown

Staff were attentive and knowledgeable about offerings. Space is beautifully designed and overall experience is wonderful.

I’m a big fan of Aloette and usually give it 5 stars—it’s one of the few restaurants in Toronto that truly excites me. I’ve always appreciated how it manages to be creative and unique without ever feeling pretentious or over-the-top. This week, I went for dinner with a friend. While we enjoyed the evening overall, I felt the food didn’t quite meet the high standard I’ve come to expect—especially considering the prices. For example, $10 for two tiny olive skewers (just four olives total) felt outrageous. Similarly, while the burger was good, it was relatively small and came with a small side of fries—$32 for that dish seemed overly expensive. The fried chicken was good. I still consider Aloette a standout spot in the city and hope this was just an off night. I’ll probably return, but I do hope this was just an off night and that the value better reflects the pricing in the future.

I visit Osteria Giuilia approximately every three months and always have a superb meal with excellent service.

We had a delicious meal with exceptional service for a date night out. We ordered the oysters and escargot to start with some cocktails, the cordon bleu and lobster served on in house made spaghetti for our entries, and shared the Grand Marnier soufflé for desert. It was the perfect balance of elegance and privacy for a meal with great conversation and company.

Great food and great people. Had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend trying it!!
