Vertical Detroit opened its doors in 2015 under the expertise of James Lutfy and Remy Lutfy. Their combined fifty years of wine knowledge, obtained after owning the Fine Wine Source in Livonia, Michigan, studying wines across the globe and simply having an absolute passion for it, gave Vertical Detroit the title of Downtown Detroit’s first high-end, wine-centric restaurant. Vertical Detroit serves as a wine bar/restaurant/retail space in the historic Paradise Valley district of Downtown Detroit. The Whitney is Detroit's most Romantic Restaurant. Housed in a historic 1890s mansion on Woodward Avenue in the heart of Detroit's cultural district. All parties of 7 or more must be booked directly through the restaurant. Private dining rooms are available for a reasonable rental fee. We are currently serving dinner Wednesday - Sunday evenings. Adjacent to the bar entrance is the Caucus Club Kitchen, fully viewable from the hallway of the Penobscot building.The menu centers around the in-house dry-aging room, yielding Prime Steaks and Chops expertly butchered on site.
