Had a lovely dinner. Restaurant had a lovely buzz for the holiday season. The food was incredibly good and did not disappoint. Service was prompt. Everything was excellent except for the noise level. The sound absorption in the restaurant is very poor and we really had to raise our voices and also lean in to be able to hear each other. Would not rush to go back. Wish they could do something about the noise level.
I was not impressed with the food options- seem limited. No protein in most of the past dishes. Kind of basic. Ordered a $15 speciality drink and it was lacking. Boring. Could have made one better at home. service and ambiance great otherwise.
Loved this place!! The food and service were both amazing!
Figo is one of my favourite go to restaurants in my neighbourhood. Great food, ambience and service each time. But this time I was surprised! It took them about 10 minutes to seat us even though we had a 7 pm reservation, which I wouldn’t think much of it any other time. Service for drinks was slow but again I wouldn’t complain any other time. We had appetizers, dinner and dessert. The 2 hour limit for the table didn’t accommodate for all of the above. At exactly the 2 hour mark (9 pm sharp) we had 3 different employees come up to us within a 3 minute span to ask if we were done with dessert, which were only half eaten by this point. By the 3rd employee we realized that our time was up so we commented on her being the 3rd employee to ask if we were done our half eaten dessert and asked for our bill. She was apologetic and did inform us that she removed our dessert when she brought us the bill. It was too bad that the night ended that way!
My wife and I enjoyed a great Saturday brunch at this restaurant. The restaurant had a nice relaxing ambience and we had a nice table by a wall of Italian wines and great view of the kitchen. Started the meal with some Italian cocktails. I ordered from a price fix brunch menu and started with truffle honey and black pepper ricotta, then a pancetta blt and finished with a pana cota. The food was great and our server was awesome. My wife had baked eggs in an Italian tomato sauce with meat and an arugula salad. The food was delicious. Make sure to confirm your reservation as they use an online system and didn’t check us in. I called and they quickly rectified the issue. Highly recommend for a great weekend brunch downtown.
Always great always fun!!
It was a team lunch to celebrate our colleague's bday. Food was really good, great service and overall good value for the money.
One of my favorites. I like the food and the atmosphere. Enjoy!
I have already recommended FIGO to many friends over the last few years -- it is one of my very favourite restaurants!!!
Food was well prepared and reasonably priced for the area. The restaurant was very busy and a bit crowded but it was not too noisy. Service was fair and quick. Wine list is a bit overpriced for full bottles - the cheapest bottle was more than our meals (apps and mains for 2). Centrally located and fun.
Went for a business lunch with a tight timeframe. Service was excellent and food came out quickly. And it was excellent. Would certainly go to Figo again.
Everything was perfect... I have already recommended it to a couple of friends
Small portion of fish and sat for a while for one of the meals to arrive
I ordered the Tina salad and my lettuce was frozen. Even though I told the server nothing was done.
The overall experience was good! Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because our beed carpaccio tasted really off as if the meat was gone bad and one of our salads tasted like they dumped all the salt on it by accident. They were very quick to take it back and gave us no hassle. The pastas were excellent! Will go back!
The service was great. It was my bf birthday and they brought out a cake without me having to ask. They were amazing, I will def come back.
Amazing food and excellent service. Would definitely go back!
This was our 3rd time in 2 days having dinner at Figo. The food was so good that there is no place in the states that compares. The pasta is perfectly seasoned with delicious sauce.
The food and service at Figo was amazing! I can’t express how satisfied we were with the experience. The food was very delicious and tasty!
Best pizza and great ambience
Great atmosphere, interesting cocktail drinks, flavourful dishes, professional service, all round really good experience ;)
I love Figo. The pasta wasn't the best I've had but was still good and a lovely restaurant.
Great ambiance and drinks - main courses were good but nothing out of the ordinary
Disappointed by the cheese boards/chefs choice - the pickled veggies were stale and the option of only 2 small cheeses wasn’t the best.
The food and service was AMAZING!!! I cannot express how happy my party and I were with the level of attention we received. James our server, was very accommodating with one of our party members allergies and ensured we were well taken care. Thank you!! We highly recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for great Italian food and excellent service.
Restaurant was SO LOUD that we had to shout to hear one another. We made reservations for 5 people but were seated at a table for 4. Two people in chairs on one side and three on the banquette. Three on the banquette was fine, but the table was not long enough so the third person had half a table in front of them to eat off of. We asked for a chair to be put at the end. Chair arrived — perfect. Problem solved. But then they came and took the chair back because they didn’t have enough chairs in the restaurant! It was a very uncomfortable evening having the perch on the edge of the banquette.
The server was good — she came by several times at the start to ask us what we wanted to drink and if we wanted help with the menu. But when it came time to order, three of us had our hearts set on the Veal. She only then told us that the restaurant had run out of veal. That left us scrambling to find another dish on the menu, not easy to do when it has to be done under pressure. Should the server not have told us earlier if something on the menu wasn’t available?
So no chair and no veal. Not a good start.
The appetizers were good and all the food came out piping hot which is great. However, the chicken main course was very dry and the Linguine Vongole was lacking in flavour.. To end on a good note, the olive oil cake was very good. We all liked it.
But, we all agreed that none of us will return. Too loud, too uncomfortable, good service but only mediocre food.
Overpriced for the quality of food and service. Waitress did not provide anything extra to the experience. I got the seafood linguine and a glass of cab sauv. The wine was the best part, absolutely amazing. Pasta was OK.
Excellent service and good food but very crowded and noisy.
This is a lovely chic spot in the Entertainment District with good food and great service, but noisy for our taste. During our pre-theatre brunch, the noise level was exacerbated by the presence of a very large family celebrating a birthday. We would have appreciated knowing about this large party in advance; it might have affected our decision to come on this day.
Food was great! Service was awesome! Noise level was extremely loud. We were there Sunday for lunch. My mom wears hearing aids and she had to shut them off.
I would cautiously recommend to a friend in the hope that my most recent visit was an off night. I have been a few times prior to this and had good experiences, however on this occasion (which happened to be a special one for my wife) they were late having the table ready, by more than 20 minutes, and we were then rushed through service despite the seating being at 8pm. We were seated around 8:20pm then hurriedly asked if we were ready to order, mains came out 5 minutes after Apps to the point where we had to tell them to slow down (which is not our usual style). Had they looked at the group they would have likely seen there was an opportunity for us to stay and celebrate much longer than we ended up doing. One other down side is that their wine prices are too high for the environment, offering nothing under $65 is outside the norm in Toronto and they should adapt with a nice selection of house wines, the wines they do offer are good but many don't fit the build for a $75+ bottle. The food is tasty though and the ambiance is vibrant.
Nice ambiance, above average service minus a few errors that were made. We asked for bread and it was brought to us but we were not made aware that there was a charge. One of our mains was brought out with everyone’s appetizers and no one seemed to think it was an issue.
Other than that, food was great! Good experience but do not feel compelled to return.
Great service and food! Would highly recommend to others.
First the good news: Figo is a very short walk to the theatres on King St. and the food is excellent. They are used to having pre-theatre diners and respect your need to get out in time for the show. There were a couple of negatives: I found the wine to be more expensive than most other restaurants. The price of a 9oz. glass was more in line with the price of a bottle, causing my companion and me to limit our drinking to one 5oz. glass. Also, it was very noisy. We had agreed to high top seating, and based on the pictures of the restaurant I had seen online, I expected that we would be seated across from each other on high top chairs. Instead, we were seated at a dark table facing a post, side by side, thus exacerbating the difficulty hearing one another because we were not face to face. I would return to this restaurant because I enjoyed the food so much, but I would make darn sure that we could get a table.
lovely restaurant. food prepared and presented well. Service very good. wait staff attentive and professional
Overall an excellent experience of food and service. Great vibe for a night out
Branzino was very fishy tasting & hard not flaky
Food was tasty and well-prepared, service was friendly and professional, nice selection of wines. While the room is beautiful, we had expected the ambiance it to be quieter and a little more upscale. It was quite loud, not just with patrons chatting but also with pumping music, and we felt that having the serving staff dressed in jeans was more casual than the rest of experience suggested. We would certainly go back, now that we know what to expect.
Amazing food and service, just found it too loud.Great location as well and we are looking forward to our next visit.
