   Great little neighborhood restaurant with a casual, no-frills vibe. Changing daily menu on a chalkboard and superb fresh fish every day. Started with some perfect calamari and french wine, and for the main course had blackened swordfish with garlic butter and rice. So good.

   Ultra-fresh fish, best French Fries in town, friendly service, homey atmosphere. What more could you ask for? Definitely not a fancy highly decorated place, but that's part of the attraction. It raised strong nostalgia for 6 ex-Brits as it is the closest thing to a British fish and chips shop any of us has encountered in North America.

   It may not look fancy but the food is great! I've had their tasty fish/salmon burger, fish & chips, amazing crab cakes, and excellent house salad. There's no waiting for seats and the place is cozy and quiet. I'm sure if they ever re-branded and made it more "trendy" business would be great but that also means more $$ passed to the diners. Please support these neighbourhood/local Kerrisdale eats before they’re all gone!

   Service was so-so. Ambience - not great. Restaurant is looking very tired - broken chairs, dismal wall decor. Our table was sticky - hadn't been wiped.

    This was not the first time eating at the Fish Cafe. We have been going since our children were born 14 years ago. We ordered the same meals as always 'Greek Salad and each person a Fish Meal'. The service was quite slow and the waitress spilled the first Greek Salad all over us. It was an accident and we got the next one quickly but it also spilled on my sister's expensive handbag and my daughter's new shoes. The fish came very slowly after the salad but the fish was amazing as always. The caper sauce was extremely salty, so advanced warning, and overall the value wasn't so great as you only get a small piece of fish. However, the chef and the waitress were very kind and apologetic. We will go back soon.

    Food, mainly seafood, is excellent and fresh and the salads and side dishes are very recommendable. The seafood platter gives you either fresh fries or favoured rice, with two pieces of fish, prawns, scallops and calamari and you can choose to have the seafood grilled or deep fried with batter. For a friends' get-together it's good food and casual setting.

    This is a small restaurant with very good food. Reasonably priced. Fishes are very jucicy and tenderly cooked. The first soup has super rich in ingredients, making it very tasty but not greasy.

    You get good value - we had a seafood platter with two pieces of grilled fish of our choice, prawns, scallops and calamari. You can have rice or french fries to go with your seafood. The fish is always fresh. The cafe also serves three different salads and other sides. You can always count on the freshness of the food served. The chef was not feeling too good that day but he insisted on doing the cooking as it was a little girl's birthday

    This is the third time we go to Fish Cafe and as usual we liked the food, the fish -halibut- was fresh but the scallops portion was quite small. However, this time it didn't go as well as before because the restaurant had a strong, very unpleasant smell of mopping with a dirty mop. The odour was so strong that it took us more than 15 minutes to become nose blind, almost the same time that took the food to arrive. We went at 5:00 pm on a Sunday, so we are definitely not going back to dine before 6:30 pm!

    This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The fish was perfectly cooked with simple but very tasty sauces. The space is small and cozy and was filled with neighbourhood people.

    There aren't a lot of seafood restaurants in Vancouver and most that are around tend to be limited to the fine dining category (very good but pricey). Fish Café is very good without the high prices. $17.95 for a good sized piece of Wild Sockeye and great chips - sign me up! I've been driving across town for years to eat here but it seems in the last few years I haven't made the journey. After eating here again recently I won't make that mistake again.

    I've come to The Fish Cafe ever since it opened. My favourite is grilled scallops, garlic butter, rice. Someday, I'll have the ling cod, which I'm certain is also delicious.

    The crab cakes were absolutely Delish loaded with lots of crab meat. Liked the texture & nuance of the kernels of corn. My Grilled Salmon was cooked to perfection & paired nicely with the rice. My Bestie's Caesar salad was delectable with half dressing preferred. Her Fish&Chips were very well done. The Good Eats made for a most pleasant evening of getting together! We shall return....

    On May 2nd my husband reserved a table for us for Mother's Day. However, when we called to say that we would be a couple minutes late, we told that there was no such booking. When we arrived space was found for us but we were told that we would have to leave in about 50 minutes. The food was still excellent and the portions generous but our Open Table booking could have been handled better by the restaurant.
