The food is out-of-this-world-good. It's a bit noisy but all we want to talk about is how good the food is so not a great loss. Servers range from Excellent to Average but never Awful.

Hoped for much better for a place so well reviewed. Everyone at our table needed to request condiments since the food was so under seasoned. The pea diddy salad was not only bland but also incredibly overpriced...or let's say the 5 Horses made a tidy profit on half a $3 bag of mesclun. Won't be returning. Next time in Davis Square, I'd be happier with take out on a park bench from almost anywhere else.

We went for mother's Day, had a reservation and was seated promptly. All the staff was great, the menu choices were varied and inventive. My daughter had the mimosa flight which she loved. My husband thought the breakfast pizza was excellent, and I had a traditional breakfast that was very good. highly recommend this restaurant!!

We made a last-minute reservation to take out some family members, and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was. The atmosphere has great energy. We got a really great booth in the middle and it was perfect. I can’t say enough nice things. the wait staff is fantastic and the food was genuinely excellent. definitely stop by, you won’t be disappointed.

This is one of our favorite places to grab a casual meal. Staff is always helpful and friendly and the ambience is a real major plus and is in line with the Davis Square feel. Enough food and drink options with a real emphasis on finding just the right condiments and spices to make their offerings unique. Pricing is very reasonable.

We had a late casual brunch with our adult sons here, and we had a lovely lunch. The food was good and the service was excellent. We sat at the high tops in the area with big open door/windows to the street, and it was a wonderful spot to meet and reconnect. I also asked for a glass of cabernet and wish I’d asked what it was because it was delicious.

What a wonderful experience we had! Two of our kids are up in the Boston area for college so we came up to have our Easter meal with them. Booking the table was easy. Once we got there, we were seated at a fantastic table with a wonderful server. She was attentive, but also gave us the space to enjoy our meal as a family. The menu has something for everyone and everyone was delighted with what they ordered.

Have been coming to Five Horses for years, but this will be the last visit. Unfortunately, bar service was subpar. Food order arrived well before the drinks arrived, two of which were simply wine by the glass, where both wines provided were incorrect. Having arrived so late, not worth replacing as the food was on table. Server was nice but not really empowered to remedy the situation.

Our party of 4 very much enjoyed the food and we thought the service was excellent. Perhaps we would have had a better experience during lunch on a weekday. But we were there on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. The noise level was quite loud when we arrived and became increasingly louder over time. At one point, we realized that the roar in the restaurant was so loud that we could not hear each other at all. Our efforts to make conversation were useless. This was very disappointing. The purpose of gathering with friends is to talk with each other. We did like the food and the wait staff. I wish we could return to enjoy their food but it is unlikely because of the noise level.

All in, we were 14 adult couples and four young adults and children for dinner on a Sunday night. We were sitting a separate tables, so it took me a while to get around to everyone. Reports were fantastic. I typically do not think of a pub or tavern as serving anything other than acceptable, so called comfort food. But Five Horses surpassed this descriptions and our expectations. Very creative dishes, nicely presented, and - according to everyone - quite tasty. Spent about 90 minutes in Five Horses. Wonderful evening in advance of a show we attended at the Crystal Ballroom. Great night, as was the concert. Would strongly recommend Five Horses.

Husband got shrimp taco, way too hot! Mahi mahi was kind of wet and mushy. Daughter got vegetarian bowl and the portion was very small. I got tavern burger which was delicious but they don’t have fries which is disappointing/only Tator tots, not a fan of them. Prices a little a little steep for portions.
