Service was great, food was ok, overall great dinning experience!
What a lovely restaurant! Gaetano was our fantastic waiter and they worked us in at the end of a night and were quite nice about it. Terrific!
My dad and I enjoyed the food. However, my mom seemed disappointed with her seafood fish as she mentioned it was a bit fishy and something about cooking.
Great service and atomoshphere
Delicious dinner, fabulous view and ambiance, excellent service. Could not ask for more!
It is the best restaurant in Vancouver as I know.Great experience.
Fabulous evening. Great food and service from start to finish. We had the tasting menu with wines - all good.
Excellent service made the experience exceptional. Excellent food. Presentation of the meals very nice with beautiful plates.
The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water and mountains. The interior is modern and elegant, and the ambiance is quiet. Waitstaff are formal, but nice. It took some time for them to return when we needed something. Lobster, lamb (rack and saddle), and halibut were excellent and artfully presented.
Great place to dine
Good environment, nice view, delicious food, highly recommended.
Its all about the view, but the service and food are both very good.
Wonderful place. Great location, view, service and food. Best Sea Bass I’ve had in years. Only the wine list needed some adjustments. It was not up to par with the food. Not bad, not great.
We came here for our 30th wedding anniversary. Expectations were hi, and they really delivered. First, the window side view was amazing. We stayed until sunset and the view was simply spectacular. We had the chef's tasting and it was near perfect. This was one of the best dinners we have ever had. Top 5 lifetime.
Could not fault a single thing. Food was excellent, service was excellent and they accommodated our request of a table with a view of the bay. Loved it!
The food and views were spectacular! We set in a section in the back where it was more private and quiet, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter was also quite good. If there is a criticism, it’s that the wines were very pricey. That said our party would highly recommend the restaurant.
We went to Five Sails on the last day of vacation because we wanted a restaurant near our hotel with a wonderful view. The view was spectacular and so was the food. The service was exceptional and the staff was great with our family, which clearly didn't spend a lot of time eating in upscale restaurants like this one. Expensive, but not that much more expensive than anything else in the neighborhood, and relatively small portions, but not much smaller than any other upscale restaurant. There were also complimentary appetizers (a piece of smoked salmon and a small cup of celeriac soup) and desserts (chocolates). I recommend the lamb which was amazing.
Food was amazing. Service was personable and attentive. All in all this was an incredible experience
An amazing experience and meal. Truly delightful staff and an amazing culinary journey. A must spot when in the city!
This restaurant is a Vancouver gem. It is situated in the Pan Pacific hotel. The views across the harbour are stunning and the food is absolutely excellent. I had the scallops, followed by the halibut. They were so fresh and the flavours were amazing. I finished with a melt in the mouth Grand Marnier souffle.
Ambience and food was good. Service could have been a little better....He didn't seem too attentive. Other than that everything else was good
The food was great, the service perfect, & the view awesome
If you have one meal in Vancouver in you life —have It at Five Sails
We are from the east coast and decided to try Five Sails on our next to last night of our Vancouver Island vacation. My husband and I decided to go all out and do the 5 course tasting menu - and it was FABULOUS! We ate some foods we never eat (foie gras, sweetbreads in very small portions) and every course was delicious from start to finish. We also got lucky and were seated at a great table at the window with the beautiful view of the harbor and mountains. Our server, Morgan, was very personable and also gave us a tip for our sightseeing excursion our last day to Grouse Mountain (tgat we could see from our table). This restaurant is a winner.
The service throughout our meal at the restaurant was first class. The serving staff were very professional and courteous. The view from the restaurant windows was outstanding and the food was of excellent quality and beautifully presented. We were celebrating our anniversay and would recommend the restaurant for any special occasion.
Gerry our host was a gem. Really cared about our experience. Definitely will return to this restaurant.
Had Alberta beef tenderloin and it was one of the best I've ever had. Must have been marinated or aged with a rub, because it was more flavored than a tenderloin, and the consistency was more mushy than chewy. Very tender.
Wife was a little disappointed with her veal tenderloin, wrapped in pancetta. I suspect that by the time the pancetta is well browned, the veal is overcooked, as was the case with hers. But, good, not great.
Overall, very pleasant experience. Wait staff attentive without being obtrusive. Owner/manager visited several times, very interactive. Absolutely 5 star view of the harbor and surroundings. Would not hesitate to go back.
The amazing views in the evening almost take your attention away, but the excellent service and creative food bring you back to a delicious meal.
Great service...great food...loved it and would go again. They went through great efforts to make sure we had an amazing evening .
We had an amazing experience! The food selection was excellent! The staff were very attentive and friendly. The best meal we have ever had!
One guest complained about food being cold. View downstairs outside was more enjoyable, everything else was fine.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious meal! Great for a special occasion.
Superb meal, creative and delicious. And a terrific view!
The tasting menu with the wine pairings was amazing. Would highly recommend.
When you are greeted by the owner by your name is priceless! I
I reserved this special evening for my hubby’s birthday, we were traveling from Chicago, and I read great reviews from this place.
Food was superb, as well as the service with Jason! And thec Rest orge Staff!
Wren you are in Vancouver you don’t want to miss that amazing restaurant!
Very good tasting menu with wine pairings. Main cource with veal and lobster was terrfic.
Fantastic food and service! Highly recommend
My mom hate western food, and she enjoyed her dining so much. She said the scallops were fresh and tasty, the sea bass was done perfect. She also like the souffle as her dessert. I highly recommend to anyone that like freshness, fine dining and nice view.
We choose the Five Sails based on the view but will come back for the creative cuisine and service.
All meals were outstanding and provided a conversation starter. The plates were artistic and the service was discreet. Overall we had an evening that was memorable and we are already planning a return. Thank you to all at the Five Sails who go above and beyond to ensure their patrons are treated as valued guests.
The service was excellent. From host to server to buss boy all were very polite and helpful. The food was excellent. I will return shortly. It was my first visit but would not be last. I recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly.
The quality and presentation of the food was very good. The ambiance of the restaurant is matched by the water views.
Outstanding food and great service. The Halibut, sea bass and lobster were the dishes our party of 6 had...all were fantastic.
