Five Sails Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Great food, spectacular service and a nice view of the harbor. Thank you for the enjoyable experience
Amazing food and service. I had the filet and my wife the sablefish. Both were so delicious.
Menu presentation liked a fast food restaurant. The food items on the tasting menu were not impressive. Some table services were on request. Overall, pricey but not worth it. The best is the coat check in service at the reception.
Very nice view, great service and delicious food. Thanks for the special arrangement. Definitely will come again.
Scallops were amazing. Lamb awesome. Service was great. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they gave us a cute little cake and candle. All the staff came over separately and quietly said happy birthday. Which was good as he doesn’t like a fuss
The owner Gerry made us feel
Welcome and the staff treated us amazing! The food was beyond incredible and would love to come back!
From the warm and personable welcome to the fine cocktails and wine and food - was a lovely evening. Ambience was relaxing, striking night view, and wasn't loud.
Beautifully presented, delectably delicious, impeccable service.
Excellent ambience and service. Stunning sunset and brilliant night view of Vancouver harbor and Canada Place. Wonderful food and amazing service from both the chef, waiters, and hostesses.
We went to Five Sails to celebrate our anniversary and the food/service were impeccable. Started the meal with the TRIO OF WARM & CHILLED SEAFOOD. Mains consisted of HONEY GLAZED SMOKED DUCK BREAST and ROAST MILK FED VEAL TENDERLOIN WRAPPED IN PANCETTA. The dinner finished off with luxe lemon mille-feuilles. All 3 courses were outstanding. We will definitely try to make it back there again.
Food was great, my firmed and I are very new rock fine dining but the staff is very helpful with the menu and explaining the menu items. The food is full of flavour and I would recommend this to anybody wanting to try fine dining and Delicious meals.
A Sunday night. Quiet, comfortable, intimate. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious.
It was an exceptional experience. Staff are very professional and friendly. Overall experience was great except the wait time was a bit long between the dishes.
Five Sails is one of the best restaurants have had ever been to in vancouver. It's classy with amazing food and great service. I would definitely come back again.
And best view in Vancouver. Food was cooked to perfection.
Fantastic service, wonderful view, and delicious food. A very nice, elegant, white table-cloth dining experience.
Chef Tasting Menu
Worth every penny. We paired it with the recommended wines, superb!
I have attached the menu and wine list as well as photos of the appetizer.
Chef cared for guest shellfish allergy by providing substitutions for both shellfish items.
Great venue and wonderful staff, but only thing that bothered me was that we brought outside coffee and was asked to have it put in a cup. Instead I drank the rest of mine and my girlfriend didn't feel comfortable and she left hers.
Overall great food, great view of the water. Very pleasant atmosphere.
We came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. They took special care to note allergy restrictions beforehand and ensure we were taken care of throughout the night. Coming here never disappoints and food is phenomenal paired with the scenic views.
Overall very good first impression. Food was very execellant, and service was well done. Plus the window side views are very comfortable.
I took my husband for his birthday and we truly enjoyed ourselves. The views were breathtaking and absolutely beautiful! The food and service was superb... I would recommend anyone to try Five Sails Restaurant at least once for the “wow factor” experience.
The restaurant was incredible. We went for a milestone birthday and were treated like Kings. We were treated to birthday dessert on the house. The ambiance was great and the service was well-timed and both personal and professional. The food and drinks were unique with a West Coast flair - amazing. Desserts were also great. This is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. I'd love to go back during the day to see the views in a different light! You won't be disappointed.
We booked our tabe at 9:00pm but we were little late due to the renovation of their escalators. We took extra 15 minites to find out the entrance. When we got there we apologized about our deley first. But the hostess was not happy. She said that they are about to close and we have to make orders immediately if we want to have seats. We decided to have seats anyway. Our server and other host are great and we were really happy about food, atmosphere and their services. But when we got home we recieved an email about that we cancelled our reservation without any notice. We’re not sure if the hostess cancelled our reservation because we’re little late (we’re there within 15 minutes though) or it’s just an systematic error, anyway we felt pretty bad. The rest of our experience was great.
Second birthday dinner at Five Sails. It was amazing, of course. Very delicious food beyond expectation, and excellent service. Highly recommend YinYang foie gras and chocolate opera slice. Will definitely come back for other occasions to try out something new.
Excellent food and service and the outside view is a plus. Equal to French cuisine. Respects the ingredients without masking their tastes by silly extras.
Great service, Great food, Great atmosphere!
Me and my girlfriend really like this place for soecial occasion!
This place is fantastic. Best view in the city. Food is 10 out of 10 as is the service. Can’t be beat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The service we received was excellent and food very good. Especially enjoyed the quiet environment which allowed for an easy conversation. The views of North Shore spectacular.
Our server was very attentive and helpful
Very delightful to have her as our server. But i was surpise to see our wagyu came with fries
Despite being ten minutes late, with an extra person in our party, we were accommodated very nicely. My wife was delighted by the complementary birthday cake.
Consistently the best!!
We wanted something special to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we picked Five Sails off of the reviews we read. It did not disappoint. The food was exceptional, the service was professional (there really is a difference), the atmosphere was lovely, the whole experience was well worth it.
The best food and wine we have had in a very long time! Would recommend to anyone looking for a romantic setting with phenominal food, great views, and a one of a kind experience in dining.
Me and my friend had dinner following the opera matinee. Still light, from our table by the window we enjoyed a wonderful water view. The service was attentive and very well timed. My venison dinner was delicious. Will definitely be back!
Outstanding food and service. We discovered 1 hour before our expected reservation that we had reserved on the wrong day. Gerry was very accommodating when I called to make a change. We had the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairings. Everything was well balanced and the wine selections just right. We had a table right by the window which added to the experience. We’ve been fortunate enough to eat at some of the best places around the world and this reminded us of some of those wonderful experiences.
We satisfied with food patet of foigrat is excellent, but service level is not so good
The Chef's choice menu is totally not worth its $58 price tag. Consider it carefully when it is your first visit.
Wonderful way to celebrate my birthday! Attentive but discrete and wonderful food!
Views , service and food are all top notch! We enjoyed a drink before dinner at the bar wth Orin. You can't go wrong at Five Sails!
View from a table at the window at sunset was spectacular. Service was friendly, and adequate, but hardly attentive at a 4 or 5 star level. The featured desert requires 35 minutes but we were not told about it until it was time to order desert...a missed opportunity for us and them. No specials were described to us, although an adjacent table with a different waiter did have a conversation. I had to refill my own wine glass 3 Times and, I was presented with the wrong check at the end.
The food was flawless, a cold appetizer of scallop ceviche , crab stuffed avocado, etc. was superb. Halibut and sea bass main dishes were beyond reproach, good food well presented. The ability to order a half liter of wine from a nice, if limited, selection was very much appreciated.
A nice, if pricey, experience. With a little more attentive service it would be worth the price.
