Flour Mill Restaurant
The food was wonderful. We enjoyed a nice quiet brunch. All the food was of high quality.
Absolutely amazing meal and service. Our waiter (Scott) was very knowledgeable regarding the wine list and menu and made us feel very welcomed. He took in interest in getting to know us (and his other tables) and is one of the few truly exceptional waiters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Our meals were prepared perfectly and dessert was delicious. An overall fantastic experience.
The Flour Mill is an unexpected jewel nestled across from a gaudy tourist attraction of Niagra Falls. The beautiful old flour mill and inn are discreet amongst the typical touristy spots. A beautifully restored building with original exposed stone walls set the backdrop for a romantic meal amongst leather, velvet, and dark wood. Old movies are projected on one wall while the low hum of conversation envelops one. The food was exquisitely prepared and obviously fresh. Local Niagra wines dominate the wine list, and rightly so. We had an excellent Pinot Noir from just up the road at Niagra-on-the-Lake, and the braised rabbit parpadelle was the table favorite.
Went here for a later breakfast on a Monday, so it wasn’t too busy.
To preface this review, the food was fine - we were just forgotten about (Or Or certainly seemed like it) by our server. She was working hard, so it wasn’t a ‘lazy’ thing - we just awkwardly were ‘forgotten about’ after ordering coffee and was asked if we were ready to order - which we said ‘yes’ - then she walked away and had to flag her down 20 minutes after getting that coffee.
Overall, the food was pretty good, but tough to say it was worth the high(er) cost all said and done. The eggs in the avocado toast were actually poached hard (vs soft or medium), and the pancakes were very dry and thick (needed a good deal of syrup, which had to be ordered separately).
Family friendly yet elevated dining. The space was welcoming and unique, service on point. The food was really good, solid portions, and thorough wine list.
We enjoyed it , went there for my birthday.
Nice atmosphere, comfortable setting , staff really polite
The candied bacon is incredibly delicious! Great atmosphere excellent service.
Dinner for 4 on Aug 2nd. Maitre D was accommodating and allowed us to order tapas menu items from bar to be served in the dining room. We ordered all tapas items except for the striploin slider. Then added oyster, venison tartare, and scallop from the appetizer section of the main dining room menu. Finished with Rabbit pappardelle, pickerel, filet mignon and the duck, plus two vegetable sides. Had one red and one white wine recommended by sommelier.
Overall, while the service was good and friendly, the overall food quality was just not up to standard- especially done-ness and flavoring issues.
It's an interesting menu offering more unusual items compared to standard fine dining fare. But the dishes were overall just simply not very good. Hoping that perhaps the chef just had an off night...
I selected this restaurant based on reviews here and was not disappointed. We dined on a Wednesday, and our only note was we were sad it wasn't a more popular destination because the ambiance was nice, service was great and food was excellent. We had communicated with the staff ahead and were assured they could accomodate low sodium request, as they are a scratch kitchen. They did not disappoint. All three meals were fanstastic, with lovely service.
No other patrons at this place. Hmmmm.
Very nice server. Food sucks. Their specialty dessert chocolate layer cake was three days old and from the back of the refrigerator. Nice decor.
Do not bother !!
The food is spectacular. Live accoustic guitar was a nice surprise.
Heard great news about this place . Went for brunch. Had steak n fries. Fries were so salty and soggy steak fatty and overcooked. So disappointed.
Four Brits for breakfast in america - never an easy ask! Well we had an excellent breakfast very well served by Oksana. The website says the food is freshly made and it shows. Interesting menu and overall the portions were a reasonable size - so that may not satisfy some American diners but it was just fine for us Brits.
Food was fantastic! ! The ambiance decor and space was just gorgeous ! Love to go back
We ate brunch here and it was so beautiful inside! The croissants were absolutely amazing and our waitress Judit was top notch.
Great atmosphere and delicious food! Also, you get very large portions of food for the value. They only have French Press coffee so there are no free coffee refills. Food and service took a while, but the food was worth the wait. Allow yourself 90 minutes to dine there, even when slow.
Fabulous setting for a Special birthday celebration. So very elegant, food was spot on. Chef made a visit to table to extend his birthday wishes. Absolutely recommend.
What an absolute treasure of a restaurant in the Falls area! Completely different from anything in he area. The hotel and dining areas are impeccably maintained - quaint yet elegant. We had breakfast reservations there for our first morning, and it was so good we went back on our second before leaving. The French press coffee is delicious, and the Candied Bacon Tree was as well. The service both days was attentive and friendly. I found this place online, and couldn’t be happier I did.
Great experience!! The food was very good and service was exceptional. Will be back
Went for breakfast- delicious! Prices were a bit high but quality of food was excellent.
Great food and great service; we had a wonderful time.
The restaurant is beautiful and the food is top notch.
Judit was wonderful and the chef was lovely. Food was delicious! Would go back again in a heartbeat.
This was the most overpriced mediocre food I have eaten in some time.
The restaurant itself is beautiful! Food was good, service was okay - but not really very personal.
We had the sous-vide striploin and the duck confit cassoulet for brunch; peanut butter mousse for dessert. Everything was wonderful and it was a gorgeous space. Also, they have Tesla charging if you ask at the front desk.
Amazing! Food was amazing! Chefs skillet and Eggs Benedict to die for! Coffee was amazing! Service was great! Would definitely go back again!
Beautiful establishment, would have given all 5s but waited a very long time for our food to arrive (45 minutes)...so long that our waitress came and apologized for the length it was taking. Still the best food we ate in Niagra Falls.
The food was fantastic and I would go back just for the steak. Unfortunately the service was very poor. We waited almost 10 minutes for our drinks, the food was never clearly explained (charcuterie board) when brought to table. Finished plates were not cleaned up till well after we finished. Our server gave off the impression that she had better things to do and felt very short with us. If the food and ambience was not as amazing as it was we would not return on the service alone.
Everything from the food to the service was excellent. Yes it is a little pricey but you certainly get what you pay for. I would recommend to anyone to take the time to enjoy a meal at the Flour Mill restaurant. You won’t be disappointed 😊
Mother’s Day brunch. Food was good however pancakes were very dense and heavy.
The mimosas on the brunch menu appeared to be included on the brunch menu cost but when we got the bill they charged us. Not a problem but it looked like it was included but never said it was an extra.
The ambiance was absolutely amazing. However, the service was terrible and the food was cold. $114 for breakfast was definitely not worth cold lobster and eggs.
The service and ambiance were excellent, but our food arrived just warm. It was Mother’s day so it was busy, but we would have enjoyed our wonderful meal more if we had been given it hot!
From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with warm and friendly staff. Our server, Judith, was exceptionally helpful and kind. Our appetizer and bread with oil was fantastic. The entrees were five star. I cannot say enough about our experience. We will certainly recommend and return. The Flour Mill Restaurant is our new favorite place to eat in Niagara Falls!
An excellent place for breakfast. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was comfortable and unique.
This was our second visit, I arranged my trip around the ability to have breakfast here! Would this breakfast be as good as I remembered, yes!! We started with the tray that included scones, croissants, clotted cream and jam; all made on site. I traveled five hours for these scones, which are also used in the Eggs Benedict. Then I had the best eggs Benedict i’ve ever had and my son had the champagne pancakes. Delicious! Oh my goodness, amazing! Our waitress, Judy, remembered us from our first visit and we had fantastic service and some pleasant conversation. Even the chef came by to chat with us.
My recommendation cannot do the restaurant, inside an old Flour Mill, justice with words; you must try it for yourself!! (As a bonus, you can visit the falls!)
Best quiet and delicious dinner we’ve had in a long time and we even had our kids in tow! They were very accommodating for the kids - I’d go back again in a heartbeat!
We had the Bacon Tree as well. No picture.
