Lola was our matriarch. She was spicy and saucy. So we learned from her, to do what we love. make people happy by giving delicious drinks, mouthwatering food just like the abuela would .
Our unique #mexicanfiesta option offers the best 6 course tasting menu in the universe. A rollercoaster of emotions, flavours and textures .
Like we say in Mexico , mi casa es tu casa.
Amazing place! Authentic Mexican in Toronto. Dinner menu is so great. The steak is incredible. Ceviche is so fresh and tangy. The guac is real and tastes so good. My fav Mexican in the city. Really nice ownership and staff as well. The lights and the room in general is sooo good as well. My fav.
The best Mexican in the city. Everything is so fresh and authentic. The colours, the ingredients, the taste!!! It doesn’t get better than this for Mexican food in Toronto.
If you haven’t eaten here yet and you like Mexican food, you need to get here and fast. AMAZING!!!
Lovely lovely restaurant! If you ever go promise me you will go to the patio... Super cute & cozy even is the crisp weather of autumn. I cannot imagine what it would be like in beautiful summer weather!
My friends invited me to celebrate my birthday -I come from Mexico. I was happy as I had not been to Fonda Lola and the website looked nice.
Very disapointing experience. Not worth the time or money. Super expensive for very mediocre food. "Mexican inspired" but far from authentic. A bit flavourless to be honest. Patio space, tables and benches were very small and uncomfortable. Will not return.
Really great food. And the drinks were well made. Would definitely go back
I love this restaurant. Their styling is unique, cute, and fun and their food is great (and easy to share). It's both a cute spot for a date night and a fun place to go with friends. It's one of my favourite spots for Mexican cuisine in Toronto.
Loved everything about Fonda Lola. Can’t wait to go back.
Another excellent dinner
Really wonderful taco bar and tortilla soup - really. The patio is charming both in decor and shade. We thought the servers were tops. The coke was flat, the replacement was flat, how can that be? Not from a fountain, supposedly cans freshly opened but flat coke is a drag. They shouldn't have charged us for the flat drinks but that was a small thing, overall, we loved them.
We went for summerlicious. Food was very tasty, but portions were a bit small. Will go back for the regular menu next time! Still enjoyed the experience!
The salsa was delicious..one of the best I've tasted. The homemade tortilla chips were warm and tasty. The food came out fast and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately it's not wheelchair accessible (well at least not if you have to go to the bathroom...it's downstairs). I will be back to try something different.
Lovely cozy place. Amazing food. Worth checking it!
Went here for summerlicious for brunch. The portion was very small but it was very delicious. The ambience at the patio was very nice. I loved everything except the chair i was sitting on that was very wobbly. I would come back here again
Food was bland with very little flavour. The waitress was a little condescending at times and definitely acted like she was doing us a favour by bringing our food out.
Decor is nice and has an expensive feel, but the food is poor.
We went here for summerlicious and the items were so small. Atmosphere at the back patio is super cool, drinks were good but really expensive.
The fish taco and cilantro dressing was delicious. The classic Mojito was refreshing, and the avocado ice cream was sinful treat. The restaurant was so pretty with the back patio and twinkly lights, down to the blue and white plates with orange napkins a feast for the senses as well and the stomach.
The food was ok. It wasn't bad and there was nothing wrong. It was just ok. The dining room was a million degrees without AC and no fans to move the hot air around. Kinda killed our vibe. Brought in a group of 20 people and didn't get much of a thank you or any sort of acknowledgement from the manager - which is a missed opportunity for them to earn back a customer. Toronto is full of options and this wasn't good enough to go back.
Food is so flavourful and fresh! Even the margaritas are made with real fruit and taste fantastic!
The team is amazing and very friendly
Service very slow and waitress inattentive. Tree on patio kept dropping little leaves in our hair, our drinks and food.
The food quality, ambience, and drinks were all so amazing! Event the owner came out to say hi and to check in. They have $3.50 taco Tuesdays and the food is off the charts amazing!! I'll definitely be coming back
We tried several dishes and none were crowd pleasers. The best thing we tried was the fish tacos.
From the moment you walk in, you know your experience will be authentic and special.
My SO and I gave this place a shot. We ordered down the barbacoa burritos, ceviche, and chicken tacos. I mainly had the barbacoa, which was fine - the meat was tasty if a little dry. Maybe I’ve been spoiled in the past, but I’m used to ordering tacos and receiving toppings as well (lettuce, beans, pico, or guac), but I only got the meat, three small tortillas, and a little bit of hot sauce. The ceviche was great, and the chicken tacos were fine.
Service was exceptional - they seated us quickly and were helpful for the whole meal. The setting is great too (love the layout of the backpatio and the fixtures in the bathroom), I just wish the food was better.
Delicious and authentic food surrounded by a traditionally yet contemporary environment. Lovely Mother’s day brunch!
What an amazing place, with such a great atmosphere and vibe. When sitting on the patio, you almost feel as if you are on vacation in another country. I love the Fish Tacos! Ernesto makes you feel like you are part of his family, and has a true passion for his work.
It was an amazing time. food was so good and staff were wonderful. Their patio is also so cute and I had an amazing cinco de mayo
Fantastic food and great service! Loved the fish tacos!!!
Overall great atmosphere and decor. Nice place to go for dinner with friends. Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary, and it was overpriced in my opinion.
Everything was lovely but the food is a bit pricey for the porsions and there should be a bit more variety of authentic Mexican dishes.
We had a great meal and great service. The margaritas were delicious and so was the food. Everything we ate I would recommend - ceviche, Tlacoyo, baja fish and beef barbacoa tacos and for dessert churros and flan al tequila! Thanks Fonda Lola for a great meal and experience!
Great food! On the smaller side with the portions but every single bite was fantastic.
Wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back.
Staff was great, food delicious, great cocktails. Great ambience for date night or just chilling with friends.
Food was excellent and fresh. The guacamole and chips appetizer was tasty and the portion was much larger than expected. Dinners were fantastic, and the churros were some of the best I’ve ever had. Service was prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend!
The food wasnt amazing. In fact it tasted like it was old and pre-heated
It was our first time at Fonda Lola and we have really enjoyed the experience of this authentic Mexican restaurant! The vibes and the atmosphere were simply great!
The food was really good as well the service and the cocktails... you can definitely say that they put love in what they do!
I’ll come back for sure!
I went on a Saturday night with some girlfriends, and it was so much fun! The Fish Tacos are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! So much so that we had to order another round of them. We ended up talking to the owner and learning about the different locations (one in Mexico... no wonder why it's so delicious!) and about Tequila of course. We left full, and super happy. I would highly recommend anyone to go. I am craving some tacos already!
The food and cocktails were delicious. The servers were all very friendly and helpful, and the manager (or owner) was fantastic.
I had never been to Fonda Lola - the flavours used in the Mole Rojo (dark chocolate and dried pepper) were imaginative and flavourful. Service was excellent. I will go there again.
