Umi Sake House is a unique Japanese cuisine restaurant in the Belltown area of Seattle featuring the highest quality seafood available in the Northwest, a large izakaya-style tapas menu, and boasting a sake list of over 60 imported Japanese bottles. The interior is multi-faceted, with a black slate tiled traditional dining room, a gorgeous 14 person capacity wooden sushi bar, a semi private "tatami" room which holds 12 people, a larger 25 person private dining room, an enclosed "back patio" casual dining room complete with tropical garden, a black concrete liquor bar with custom sake cocktails and fusion traditional cocktails. The variety of atmospheres allows for a different experience with every visit, and the vastness and quality of the menu does the same.     I visit Umi once a month or so. Umi as usual delivers on good sushi, quick service and a pleasant meal. Downsides? The place can get very loud and the front desk gives you a time they want the table back which I understand to some can be off-putting. Upsides? Good food and a nice location in Bell Town. Parking is usually plentiful if your walking range is one or two blocks away on the street.

    I have lived about 1.5 hours away from seattle for 30 years. I have never tried this restaurant before but have always wanted to try it and now I have. I thought it was located elsewhere in post alley But we found it very easily. This is a wonderful restaurant. It is very pretty inside as you walk through. We went for lunch. We each had a drink, one with alcohol, one without. The Dicky and Hello Madame President (I can only hope). They were very good. My husband had the papparedelle bolognese which he enjoyed. I had a tiny taste, I have had better elsewhere but these n.w. seafood was just plain delicious. That halibut was beautiful. I wished I had more, even though the serving was not small. The sauce was great and the peppers were not spicy as I thought they would be. I would order that again any day. I really didn’t know what to have, several good looking things on the menu. Glad I had this.

    We had a fantastic meal at Salty’s last night. Every dish was superb. The ambience was great and that view of the city you can’t beat anywhere! Definitely a destination place for anyone visiting Seattle.

    Absolutely amazing experience! One of our friends was visiting from Denver and she wanted to experience an afternoon tea party. When we arrived, it was more than I expected! We had a private room all to ourselves and really enjoyed all the tea, desserts and food delivered to us. We really felt like princesses for a day. A huge bonus was little Carrot Cake the cat for keeping us company. She is absolutely adorable! Thank you to Trisha for hosting us and checking in on us on what we needed! I highly recommended it to anyone!
