Laren's is a classic steakhouse in the style of Ruth's Chris, Morton's, etc. It offers very well-prepared, but somewhat basic (in terms of adventurousness) food, in a refined atmosphere, at a premium price. The service is classy but casual, and the atmosphere is suitable for everything from business dinners, to a splurge with friends, to very special occasions. You will not find a better quality/better prepared steak in Santa Clarita. Although you can't go wrong with the steaks/meat dishes, the seafood is also surprisingly solid. The sides are all elevated takes on diner classics - for example, the hash browns are to die for - but the overall menu could easily have been assembled in 1975... or 1945. There's a reason these dishes have stood the test of time! I was surprised at the age range of clientele on the night we went: Everything from young Gen-Z celebrating a birthday, to a family with grandparents also celebrating a birthday, to middle-aged couples celebrating an anniversary (of which we were one). There is something for almost everyone to enjoy at Larsen's, unless, perhaps, you are vegan. (I'm sure they could put something together for you, but remember, it's a steakhouse.) I like the vibe at Larsen's and it may be the only fine restaurant in Santa Clarita where you can have a *quiet* conversation. The waiters (and I only saw male waiters) look like they are out of a noir movie in their serving coats, and it's just a chill vibe. As I mentioned it is premium pricing. Our meal was $200/person, all in. (We had no cocktails and two glasses of wine each.) You could probably cut that back a little with a different choice of entree, but I think that is a fair expectation to set. We shared a salad and had two sides. One nice touch was they comped us a very nice dessert for our special occasion. The only sad note was for the second time in two visits, they were out of the wine we wanted. They recommended a replacement, which went very well with our meal.

The food is great. The portions are smaller then you may be used to so double up and enjoy. Employees are always great. Prices are great. I eat there weekly sometimes twice a week. Love it.
