    We specifically chose 4pm on a Monday to get a quiet time for my dad's 87th birthday because he can't hear well. It was perfect. They accommodated our birthday requests, and everything was wonderful. The menu doesnt always read great, but the food when it comes looks and tastes great. We loved our meals and our desserts. Buttercake was our favorite dessert with the churros and the flan coming in a tie for 2nd place. . The Scallops and the grilled half chicken were our favorite entrees.

    The food was excellent. We had a beautiful view of the harbor and our server Caitlin was super. We had the ahi, crab & avocado stack which is great for 2 people. Then we had the shrimp Louie salad split for 2 people (and they don’t charge to split it), then the lobster fontina blt sandwich which is huge and delicious. Then we split the yummy potted brownie banana split. It was a lot of food but absolute divine and we said we’d easily come back again.

    Elvira is FANTASTIC. The food is amazing, the space is relaxing and beautiful and the service is wonderful. Each and every time I have gone, every person I've been with has raved about their meal. One of the great joys is bringing friends to Elvira for the first time and after the meal, they immediately make plans to return again. The only downside to Elvira is trying to decide if it's the best food in San Diego, or if Cesarina is. I love both of my daughters the same amount, and I love both of those restaurants the same. If you haven't been, you need to do yourself a favor and go.

    We went on a day the OB Farmers Market was going on and I'm glad we did. This establishment is very small and doesn't have room for many eat in customers. That said, our server was great in spite of the fact that she was the server and cook- basically running the place by herself. There were a couple of other customers but she handled everything with grace and aplomb. The pizzas we ordered were very tasty and we took advantage of the 50% off a couple bottles of wine and were happy with the selections. All in all we were very happy with our dinner. The only fly in the ointment was the presence of a lot of house flies- no doubt due to the propped open front door. They came in for the food too apparently. Despite that we will be going back as we liked the food and server/cook.
