While this restaurant was good, I cannot say it came up to it’s billing. For the cost and the hype around locally sourced food, I would say it was fine but not awesome. The dinner was long - food took a long time to come out, but then was actually not piping hot. It was sometimes a bit cool. The sharing plates came out at weird times. Our vegetables and gnocchi were gone by the time the meats were served. The lamb neck had a good flavour, but was very fatty and quite salty. The bison was cooked well, but again had a crust of salt on the outside that could not be ignored. Lovely beef a bit ruined. The best plate of the night was the cheese and meat plate.
The service was great - very attentive and the explanation was clear. Probably the best aspect of the night.
It’s great to have local, genuine food, but Forage food gets a little “precious” and seems to have overreached its ability.

My guest had some very challenging dietary requirements but our server - Samantha and the kitchen made magic happen! Everything was delicious. Displayed on the plate was stunning and clever. Such interesting flavours and blends.

Visiting from Seattle. Second time dining here and once again it was spectacular! Sourced local and fresh we have had great food both times. Bison was done perfectly, we had the shared platter and the celery root croquettes,well, its the first thing i'm going to make when i get home. We were hoping to catch fiddleheads on the menu but there's hope for the next visit!

Dined solo & sat at the bar which was great. Very attentive servers, friendly & knowledgeable. Really enjoyed my food choices though menu is somewhat limited especially if you are vegetarian. A little pricey but knowing the focus is local & sustainable eases that. I would definitely return.

Forage came highly recommended and did not disappoint! Food was fresh and creative and service was outstanding. We loved the craft beers, mushroom starter, gnocchi and tuna. Definitely worth the visit - we will be back!

Such wonderful, fresh food; not heavy, not over salted, not over sauced, just a nice blend of flavours and textures in every dish. My friend and I were talking a lot, and and it was all, mmm, yum, talk talk, until I had my first bite of the pork and then stopped the conversation to say "Holy S**t, did you taste that?!" Also, it’s always nice to know I’m not eating tortured animals.

Wonderfully creative but not gimmicky or pretentious, tasty food. All seasonal and locally sourced farm to table concept.
Waiters were friendly, helpful and attentive. Amazing food, great atmosphere and a very enjoyable meal for our first night in Vancouver!

We live right around the corner and if we get out of bed early enough, we really enjoyed going for the "Hair of the Dog" special on the weekends. We were disappointed to learn this weekend that you no longer offer this special. Now Caesars are on special for $5 before 10am, and Benny's are regular priced at $15 or $17. I think it works out to $22 for the pair, instead of $13, which is a splurge. We will unfortunately likely visit Forage less now and venture somewhere a bit more affordable.

The two of us dined there Apr 5/18
We had oysters, fresh halibut with herbs and nettle, and Bison steaks. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Wine was excellent. Quality!

Brunch at Forage never disappoints. From a selection of mimosas (try the grapefruit, it's a great twist), free-range eggs cooked to perfection, amazing scones with house-made jams, to their incredible blueberry pancakes, everything is fresh, local and sustainable. With prompt and friendly service, and a great location on Robson Street, brunch simply doesn't get any better.

I’ve been to Forage for brunch quite a few times now and I’m never disappointed! The turkey sausage hash always keeps me coming back and I’ll definitely be back soon.

It was great food! the only complaint is that they gave us A LOT of toast and so most of it went to waste, 12 pieces of toast for three people is excessive. But that being said everything else was great. Great for people with restricted diets.

Really a wonderful experience! The food is sharing friendly, and we did! The chowder was outstanding, as was the special (which was mussels and halibut.) An incredible BC wine list, and even a cheese course for dessert. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

Our server Samantha was amazing, so attentive and helpful. It felt like such a personal experience and the food was superb. The family style plates were a huge hit with our table. The duck was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend and will be back!

Luckily we had an alcove seating which helped with the ambient noise (music + ppl having a good time!) as our get together was a catch-up visit between friends. If we hadn't had that seating I'm not sure that we could have comfortably talked rather than shouting across the table as ppl around us were doing.
Other than that, the food was v. good, the server was excellent. A perfect balance of helpful, efficient, knowledgeable, and personable. No hint of pushy or fake or intrusive. Very very appreciated.

Fantastic food! Every dish was fresh, healthy, flavourful and tasty. Decor is nice but we were 4 adults crammed into a corner high-top booth so was not very comfortable. Would have preferred a tale on the floor. Server was knowledgeable but not the most attentive. Still an enjoyable experience overall and with a visit for the amazing food!

I was very disappointed with Forage. I guess it's true that You can't judge a book by it's cover. Every time I walk by Forage, it's busy. I decided to try it out for My early Birthday dinner. We weren't served bread, even though the table behind Me was served bread and the same server as Ours even asked the table if They wanted more bread. I guess Forage must have ran out of bread, because ALL the tables must have asked multiple servings of bread due to the lack of food served. The chowder I had must have been the smallest portion I have ever eaten and it was lukewarm. The salmon was more appetizer sized then a dinner serving. My Mom's and Wife's dinner was also small portioned, Their vegetables were hard. Our server never checked in with Us during Our dinner, only after We've eaten to ask if We wanted dessert, no thanks. The dinner wasn't enjoyable, but Luckily I had My Wife and Mom with Me. The name Forage is right, You'll have to forage for food on Your Own if You want to be full😇

It was our second time at Forage and the food was excellent again. The menu had changed quite a bit in the past seven months so we tried a few new dishes that were great. We will be back. The only negative to put would be that the tables are a little bit too close together. Not overbearing, but just a few more inches apart would improve the atmosphere.

This was our first visit to Forage and will be on our must do list next time we visit Vancouver. The staff were great and the process of how they served the meal (almost family style) was great and added to the excitement of the diner. We had a meat and two fish courses as well as great desserts. You will not be disappointed.
