Great food. Great services. Convenient location. I wish This restaurant is in Hawaii where I live!
Food is good as always, and service is LACKING, as always.
We were not asked to top off the coffee and water during the entire course of the meal; the food were served before our cutleries were brought over, and the server lacked the friendliness to even try.
This is our third time here. The second time we were forgotten for the course of the meal — sitting in the corner helped. Had to ask for four times to get our jam and any water.
Fabulous service from delightful friendly and efficient staff
Food innovative twists on old favorites and some lovely dishes
All the dishes were unusual and delicious. The combination of ingredients were something we had not experienced before. I would highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic food and service. Great place for all occasions.
Fresh imaginative menu beautifully presented and cooked.
Forage has great reviews on Open Table, Yelp and Trip Advisor so my husband and I decided to try it on the last night of our stay in Vancouver. What a delightful surprise. We both agreed it was probably one of the best meals we have had all year! Farm to table with creative menu and wine list. The BBQ duck soup to die for!!
The food was simply amazing. Very inventive and overall a terrific experience.
Creative menu and beautiful presentation. The dinners are family style with plenty to share.
It was truly great, and I'm thrilled that you take online reservations, thanks! Great to bring people from out of town and not worry about a line-up!
Excellent service. Only thing was I ordered my poached eggs medium, but they came out very runny. But still delicious! Thank you!
Wonderful as always
Always a fantasic time here at Forage. Never dissapoints!
Best food at a restaurant I have had in years. I can not wait to return!
Loved the bison carpaccio and the cauliflower side!
Bison entree came out cold so we sent it back. They forgot our mushroom side dish so this dish came out last after we finish our protein. The server didn’t acknowledge this mixed up and service was slow. Flavors were unique and good but a bit salty. Wish they acknowledged their mistake or comp our drinks or a dessert on the house.
Ordered 6 dishes to share amongst 4 of us. 4 dishes came out, outstanding. Then we waited 45 minutes for dishes that we were watching being served to other tables that were seated after us.
It wasn't clear what had happened, but it was clear that we had a novice server who wasn't confident on how to deal with the situation. Asking questions like "oh, yes we are waiting on food. Are you even hungry for it?"
When this food came it was unpalatable, cold and just plain not good. This was the Halibut and the Gnocchi After complaining, the two items were removed from the bill. Wine selections were excellent. The Duck Chowder was delicious. Would give another try.
One of my favourite places in the city! Consistent, unpretentious, always accommodating. I love this place.
For anyone interested in fresh local cuisine, Forage is a must for anyone visiting Vancouver. We are in town visiting for a few days from LA and had an outstanding experience in every respect. (From what we could tell the locals already know all this as it felt like very much a well-regarded local place to go based on the other diners we saw during our dinner.) Will definitely return on our next visit.
We had a party of 5 and shared 6 dishes plus two desserts. The entrees were a slow-cooked salmon, a pork belly dish, a bison steak, and a gnocchi. Our appetizer was a baked bread, quite different and interesting. (We also had a salad we all enjoyed, but, well, salad.) All dishes were so good that I can't possibly tell you my favorite. Both ingredients and preparation were of the highest quality. The portions were a bit small, but the food is rich, so no one left hungry. Our waiter had a great sense of humor, and all employees seemed to have a lot of positive energy. If I had a complaint at all, my cocktail (something with rhubarb liquor) was not as interesting as its description implied. If (when) I go back, I will skip the fancy cocktails and focus on the food (and wine).
Such a delicious brunch! Food was perfect...as always!!
We went for brunch to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first time going for brunch and Forage did not cease to amaze. The food was flavourful and of excellent quality. Very impressed, looking forward to coming back and trying out more brunch items.
Incredible meal! Family style for a group of 8 and every dish was sensational. Service was impeccable (thanks, Sebastian). Price? Unbelievably modest.
The food was EXCELLENT! Innovative and very delicious! I’d definitely recommend the restaurant just on food alone. However,
the service...was not that great. Everything was going ok until we were waiting on our last entree- we waited about 45 minutes between our previous dish and the final entree and asked about the status of the dish twice. Nothing was comped or adjusted- just a “thanks for your patience” which we didn’t feel was sufficient given the wait.
Creative and inspiring menu that really delivers on the deliciousness front!
From the moment we arrived we were felt comfortable and welcome. Our server Johnny was fantastic. He was very helpful with giving myself non-alcoholic options as I don’t drink and was very knowledgeable about the wine pairing for my girlfriend. The food was delicious and we loved the family style sharing. This will definitely be our new go to restaurant!!!
Inventive, interesting food using local fresh ingredients. Fun atmosphere, professional and friendly waiter. Excellent dinner experience.
Carefully thought out and beautifully fresh dishes. We really enjoyed our dinner. A relaxed spot for people who appreciate high quality ingredients clever and uncomplicated food!
We are local and have been many times and really like it. We love the concept of farm to table and that you
can have both vegetarian and meat eaters together. This time was a little disappointing. I made a bad choice with the pasta and bacon. It was all too undercooked for me, lumps of fatty pancetta, uncooked egg white, I couldn’t eat a lot of it. My favourite cheddar bread is still on the menu so happy with that. Apple juice was particularly good this time. We initially went for the asparagus and morels and to support the donation. Even though we went at 5.30 as booked til 8, only seating at the back which we have had before and don’t like so sat outside. The temperature was perfect but the ambience is lacking. Could do a lot more with that space.
Love being able to find a restaurant with a positive conscience regarding good local farming practices. Our waiter was lovely and the food was delicious. Not a meal we can do often because the cost is high. We had the bison which is heavenly. I don't often eat meat unless it comes from a farm that respects animals and doesn't see them as simply a product for human consumption.
Every dish was excellent. Service was first rate: informative without being intrusive. I hope to return again soon.
I was here a couple of years ago with my wife and this time came by myself after a day of business. It’s still the same great food experience that I remembered.
I highly recommend the mushroom side - it’s far better than any you will find in US restaurants.
Choose whatever else appeals to you - it would be hard to make a bad choice with their menu.
Had a family style meal with friends who felt like family (also my brother) to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance was amazing, and though we were running late, our host and waitstaff were able to accommodate our request AND take care of us pretty much as soon as we sat down. The food and drink selection were top notch - our favorite being the butter gnocchi. We ordered seconds of this. Highly recommend if you are here for maybe a date or a small gathering or celebration.
Absolutely amazing food, skilled use of different flavors and textures. The elderberry cream puff dessert is a must-try! We were seated right away and the food delivery was well timed. It was a little dark but overall the ambiance was nice. Overall it performed WELL above expectations (which were really quite high after pre-reading the menu).
A gem in the Listel hotel - who knew a hotel restaurant could be this good.
Great as always
Forage is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver, however I took my family visiting from Toronto there the other night and the food was not at all up to par. It was very salty when usually it is to die for! The service on the other hand was amazing! They were great at making sure we were taken care of, and were very receptive to our feedback.
Also we found it a bit strange that there was a slideshow playing of staff and food. It just seemed a bit tacky and did not fit with the overall ambiance/atmosphere.
Forage is the perfect place to enjoy the Farm to Table.
Had the Bison and it was just perfect.
Altough the charcuterie board and the carpaccio where a dream.
Thank you to the Forage for this perfect evening.
Of course! Need to ensure I am not squeezed out of reservations!
Nice enough but nothing special. French toast was good.
