Fantastic food, wine and service. As Europeans really appreciated the portion size and that the vegetables were treated the same as the protein! Only too happy to oblige with an animal milk intolerance.
Delicious and inventive food. They were able to accommodate various food restrictions for our larger party. A wonderful spot especially to take folks from out of town.

We are huge fans of this restaurant and invited some out of town peeps for brunch. The meals, service and atmosphere was fantastic as always. Highly recommend it.
Brought my GF here for her bday. Neither of us have been before and I wanted to surprise her with something different. Forage seemed like a good option cus it had great reviews online and I like that everything was sustainably/locally sourced.
Unfortunately the food sucked. The carbonara pasta was so salty we had to send it back. Chose the salmon dish instead. The salmon tasted like the restaurant brined it in salt water for hours - it was thoroughly salty / almost fishy from outside to inside. We didn't bother sending the salmon back as it was getting late already, they were closing soon, and we didn't want to wait for another dish.
We also had the duck meat dish and duck chowder, these two dishes were pretty good. For what we ate and paid for ~100CAD for, it was really not worth the money.
The service was very nice and attentive, but it was just unfortunate the food was subpar. I wouldn't come back here again.
All of the food was presented beautifully and perfectly showcased regional cuisine and ingredients in ways that made my mouth explode with flavor. Our server was funny, professional and helpful. We are not from the area so he guided us through wine and beer selections that paired perfectly with our dishes. Would definetly reccomend to all my friends when they come to vancouver!

Very nice food and wine list. The food is fresh, flavorful and well presented. Our only issue was their "small plate" and "sharing" philosophy that so many restaurants are embracing. I am happy to share starters - and we did their charcuterie plate that was excellent - but no one at our table wanted to share our entrees. We specifically asked that all plates be brought out together. They did not. They came one at a time so that the first served was cold by the time everyone had their food. This concept, to me, is a lazy kitchen. If the table asks that all plates come out at the same time, then the kitchen should be able to execute that request. I will be very happy when servers no longer have to explain the 'concept' of the menu and recommend that you choose 8 - 10 plates for a table of four, when 1 plate is perfectly proportioned meal.
A great evening out at Forage, for the first time. The food is a work of art, interesting and delicious. Sebastian, our server, was superb, offering great suggestions about the innovative dishes and drinks without being pushy. The sharing menu style makes the meal more festive.
Don’t go here if The Keg is your idea of a great restaurant. But if you’re looking for a meal you’ll remember Forage is that place.

Solid mother’s day brunch place. Our server always checked up on us but not in a way that’s kind of annoying. Would bring a date here next time.
I have eaten at Forage many times and love the food. I took my mother for Mother’s Day Brunch. Despite the fact there were several tables for two we were seated at a high top table. My mother is 80 years old and getting up onto the bench or stool was not the easiest and when I asked to be moved I was told it was not possible. We waited for some time for our server and then waited even longer for water, after I told her I was desperate for a glass of water. I finally flagged someone else down who provided water and checked to make sure we were good. It wasn’t particularly busy so I found the lack of attention disappointing. I also specifically asked for my eggs to be medium with no wiggly whites and that was not the case when they arrived. Overall it was a disappointing experience - even my mom mentioned the lack of service. I am generally pretty forgiving given I was a waitress for years but I have to say this time at Forage was disappointing.
Our server (Josh?) was fantastic! The food was great and the timing of the food arrival was on point.

The restaurant is aptly named. Service was poor. Had to beg for a glass of water after watching 3 tables get served before me. Once water was ordered I quickly ordered having already heard the spiel 3 times. (I got the very abbreviated version). Luckily the duck chowder was delicious! Also tried the special the neck of bison served on kale and poached pears. The poor reception and first impression left a bad taste in my mouth so won’t be back. Will Forage elsewhere for food.
My husband and I are from out of town and wanted a nice dinner while on vacation. We chose Forage because of its use of local and sustainable ingredients. We were there on a Thursday night from 6:30-8pm. It was not overly loud, but the tables are very close together in the small space. The service was good, although they forgot one of the dishes we originally ordered. Once we pointed it out they quickly fixed it for us. We had raw oysters (amazingly fresh and delicious), bison carpaccio (interesting Vietnamese flavors but we couldn't taste the meat though the toppings), foraged mushrooms (delicious), duck breast (nicely cooked, a little chewy because of a vein of fat running through), and the halibut (perfectly cooked fish, interesting and tasty accompaniments). The wine flight was nice, my cocktail was good. I would have given it 5 starts if it was a slightly lower price point. We were happy with the meal, but not blown away, and I couldn't help but think we've had better meals for that price.
I was in Vancouver for five nights, and after eating here the first night, I decided to come back two more times. Each time I dined alone, at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and the service was excellent and timely. The food far exceeded my expectations. It was creative and delicious without being pretentious. I love local, creative food but am sometimes put off by a presentation that is too "pretty," but this wasn't the case at Forage. I had a halibut the first night, bison steak the second, and salmon the third. All excellent. I also appreciated the fact that, while Forage was on a busy commercial street full of life, it was outside of the main tourist areas of Waterfront and Gastown. Highly recommend.
Awesome meal very enjoyable inventive cusine
It’s very rare that we order 6 or 7 dishes and have no bad dishes. Every one was excellent. Duck soup was brilliant as was the roast duck. I still had pleasant after tastes as I walked out of the restaurant. Josh the waiter was attentive but not obtrusive. All round 5 stars for me.
We went for brunch. We had to yell to each other. So loud.
I ordered granola. Everyone heard that except the server. I was brought a different dish. They were pretty sure that I did not order granola.
When I received the right dish there was enough granola for four servings and half a serving of yogurt.
Maybe this is not their strength although the granola was very good.
Before two hours we were asked to relinquish our table..
We chose Forage for our final dinner in Vancouver and are glad we did. Friendly, helpful server. We shared a great grilled asparagus and mushroom dish, tuna crudo, and duck breast, finishing with the coffee chocolate bar desert. All delicious!

The food was great , ambiance cool, wonderful server, who was friendly , warm and funny, at the same time very knowledgeable about menu and the vines.
We recommend pork belly, bison , oysters, garden salad, and local Cabaret Franc from Nichol Vineyard although I’m sure everything here is great.

Great high end treat, classy all the way. Delectable and ornate dishes and polite crisp service. I'm a little hard of hearing, so the servers could have been a bit louder, but I don't think many others would have that issue.
My boyfriend and I are both chefs and tonight we found our new favourite spot to eat. This hidden nook on Robson took us on quite a culinary trip.
We were pampered from beginning to end. Our server made sure we were well taken care of and was genuinely interested in talking with us. The food was immaculate, there were so many new and incredible combinations and textures. You can taste/tell the menu is thoroughly thought out by the chef. I thought the art of socializing whilst eating was lost but, the ambience of this restaurant proves that theory wrong. Overall an incredible experience!

The scones were awesome. Had the pork breakfast sandwich. Also very good. Only place where I could ask for improvement would be a little bit more attentive service and the coffee was pretty average and didn't really do the menu justice
Food excellent! Waiter added extra 125cad wine bottle to the bill. Could be an honest mistake, but he didn’t even excuse when we told him this mistake. Was kind of an anticlimax after excellent dinner.
Everything was delicious! The food was all beautifully prepared and each dish had a creative twist. Highly recommend it!
