Extremely creative dishes! Staff is great and you can tell they are excited to serve the dishes and see how you like them. The menu always changes but the bison carpaccio was soooo good!!
What a pleasure to dine someplace with both an ambitious menu and top-drawer service & management.
Unusual and delicious food. Tasty combinations of fresh ingredients. Very creative cooking.
We love the BC products and the fact that they are showcases exceedingly well at Forage.
The cornbread and the rhubarb dessert were standouts.
Food and service was amazing, however it would have been nice to have not been seated SO CLOSE to both tables besides us, not even enough room to get up (would have been uncomfortable in any situation but especially for an anniversary).
Good breakfast, good service and nice ambience. Chilled place for breakfast.
Been recommended. Very busy restaurant on Friday night. Waiter was very attentive. It was lovely they sourced the ingredients locally. Food and service outstanding
We celebrated our wedding anniversary and enjoyed an amazing meal. Thank you to the amazing team at Forage. Always a fantastic experience.
Incredible ingredients and world class in every way.
Excellent fresh local food, prepared creatively and beautifully. We went for a family birthday dinner and everyone was happy with every dish. We ordered family style which is highly recommended so you get to taste everything! We will be back.
Really thoughtful food. Accentuating the pure essence of all the local Ingredients
Forage is best experienced with a group, as the dishes are designed to be enjoyed family style, but a solo diner can reasonably eat 1 menu item (I had a wonderful salmon dish), but if you can gather a bunch of friends who are adventurous eaters, it'd be an amazing experience.
A lovely casual setting with a great farm-to-table idea. While the restaurant got good reviews, we left more confused what the hype was about. The duck chowder was delish and the highlight of the meal. The corn bread was special in that the sweetness pulled through on the peppers and honey, and a nice juxtaposition to the cheesy flavor, and the corn kernels provided a nice crunch but all a little too salty. Slow cooked salmon was cooked well but came out like-warm and the bison steak was not memorable and super raw. Not sure if it was meant to be cooked that way but I also want asked my preference. The salmon and bison cane out last, naturally, but so delayed we had to ask if it was still coming. The salmon cane out and 10-mins later, after another follow up, the bison came. I was getting full and afraid I didn’t have space for the bison.
Our server was apologetic and offered us complimentary dessert but we were too full over the length of the waiting. She comp’d our drinks (1 glass of wine).
This was some of the best food I have ever had! We shared six dishes among four people. We liked it so much we went back two days later. Standouts were the duck, the eggplant with ham, the tomatoes,
and, well, everything. We can't recommend it highly enough.
Best place in Vancouver. Food is great, based on outstanding raw material. Something different from me-too Italian /French kitchen you might find in North America. Very interesting the way they organise the menu, a bonus for this.
You have to try it!
Food was excellent. Service was fast; but it seemed hurried; it's ok for the staff to slow and relax a bit.
Really good food. Great service. Only complaint is that it was noisy.
Highly recommend the elderflower cream puff! Devine
Excellent meal for a special occasion. Noise level a bit too loud. Service superb.
We come here often and it has the best food and service. Brunch is the best !
Awesome! Fantastic experience.
Chowder was outstanding. Everything on the dishes made sense and was exceptionally good.
The chef is clearly very talented! The unique selection of food was delicious. We had pan bread, carrots, gnocchi and bison. All were wonderful. Service was also outstanding!
Excellent food and service. Though I enjoyed the music they played it does not fit with the overall theme/ambiance of the restaurant. It is probably well suited for Timber next door but not Forage.
Forage was everything I had hoped for! I took my brother and his wife to dinner, wanting it to be a special and memorable experience, one they probably wouldn’t spring for themselves. It was all that, and more. The food was exquisite! The complex combinations of flavor and texture were perfection from start to finish. I’m happy we went fairly early, as the space got pretty noisy as it filled up, making conversation difficult, but that is my only quibble; we weren’t there to talk, but to dine!
It's hard to convey how excellent our meal at Forage was. We'd been on a cruise ship for a week, eating reasonable, but fairly typical food. When we arrived back in Vancouver for a couple of days before returning home, we went for a walk and I spied Forage. I immediately checked out their menu and knew that we were going to have to eat there.
The salad we ordered was incredible, filled with fresh greens, herbs, flowers. Gently dressed, excellent goat cheese. We had the corn bread...beyond delicious. The honey was amazing...I'm a beekeeper and I love to try different honey. Mostly I want to taste only the honey, but this was beautifully spiced and so good with the cornbread! We had pork and beef as larger sharing plates. We fought over the beef, my partner let me have all the figs (what a sweetheart). And we devoured every bite.
We had no room for dessert, but the meal, ambiance, service and experience lingered on for the rest of the evening. Do not miss the chance to eat here! Simply amazing.
We loved the food and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Great restaurant.
Vacation with the family in Vancouver
The customer experience was fantastic and the food was spectacular, very fresh with amazing tasting.
I will be back soon!
Many thanks to everyone
We had breakfast here. Excellent choices and quality. Home made jams and “scone” to accompany fruit/yogurt parfait. V friendly and efficient service. Buzzing on a Sunday morning! Recommended.
Music too loud, and inadequate.
Our server, Ryan was excellent
Knew the menu well and made superb recommendations.
The food is incredible! Very innovative with locally sourced ingredients. Highly recommended!
We first visited Forage back in 2016, this was our second time here and the food and service remain excellent as ever. We just love how the folks here source their ingredients. Serving sizes were perfect for sharing. Definitely one of our favourites when visiting Vancouver.
Smart, interesting and well executed dishes in a relaxed environment. We really enjoyed our meal and liked the shared plates concept.
Chef Choi is truly a master chef. We were in Vancouver for three nights and before our first night’s meal at Forage was over, we made reservations for the second night. And it was again so absurdly delicious and artfully different that we had reserved our third night even before the dessert menu was presented. We are well-traveled foodies and Chef Choi is now one of our worldwide favorite chefs. If you like conventional food and eschew anything out of the ordinary, stay away from Forage. But if you want your taste buds to take on a new life, try for a reservation at Forage
Our server was fabulous. Food was amazing! There was only one entree that was given that we were disappointed with, and it was the carrots which were served cold. We thought it should have stated that on the menu. Other than that, it was fabulous. I am excited to go again soon! :)
I did recommend this place to my German family when they visited. They made a booking, came and ate and loved it too. I love the farm to table aspect of the restaurant and my sons just love the turkey sausages, well and everything else including the jam for the excellent sourdough. I don't want it to get too crazy busy and I definitely have taken to booking a table for breakfast.
Visited the restaurant on Friday night. Was quite surprise that the place was quiet. I love the ambience of the restaurant. It was quiet, warm and cozy- perfect for a date! If you have not tried the heirloom tomato dish, please do yourself a favour and try the dish. It was phenomenal! We also ordered the charcuterie board and pork belly. Every dish was very tasty and flavourful. One critique - the pork belly could have more char on it. Awesome experience! Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
We found the food to be both original and tasty. I have never been to a farm to table restaurant, and Forage has made interested in trying others. The duck chowder was our first course, and it was delicious, as was the salmon, bison steak, and dessert. The presentation was beautiful. Our only negative comment is that is was quite challenging to hear one another, but it was still worth it. Thank you.
Very tasty food, large choice of wine and beer. The service was great and quick.
The restaurant is very noisy, music is loud and with the people taking around us we could barely understand what the waiter was telling us.
