forage
Food was delicious and ample; service was ridiculously slow... We were a 2 top, and for some reason the kitchen couldn’t time our entrees to come out at the same time (on top of that, very slow). After entrees and receiving the bill, we waited at least 20 minutes for the pay machine.
We had a delightful time at Forage! The food was incredible...the Bison Steak, the pan bread with spicey honey and cheddar...the pate....wow. Just a delight. The the team working the floor were so kind and energetic about their restaurant and their food...it made it a wonderful experience!
The cuisine was excellent. I would have like a little less sauce, even though it was very tasty, on the bison carpaccio as it over powered the rest of the dish. Next time I will just order it light on the sauce! Great eats and would highly recommend!
Food was fantastic and the server was very kind and welcoming! I would come back again in a heartbeat
Forage consistently always has amazing quality and flavourful food with top notch service.
I recommend to anyone that wants healthy food while also supporting local BC farmers and suppliers.
We have been going to forage for brunch since it opened unfortunately it is so popular now that only a reservation will get you in on Sunday's. Always good food and friendly staff.
We had a fantastic night at Forage. All the dishes were outstanding and the staff were extremely welcoming - helped create a really fantastic night. Would definitely recommend to anyone in Vancouver!
Alway enjoy coming in. This time however the food service was not as good as previous visits. For a table of two it was odd that one meal came 5 minutes after order and the next took an additonal 10 minutes
Locally sourced food and drinks were amazing. Not only was everything delicious and savory, but the presentation of it all was artwork as well. Service was friendly and efficient. The server was enthusiastic about the food, able to answer all our questions thoroughly, great about making recommendations, and made the entire dining experience especially fun. That overall experience makes want to go back very soon. I can't wait until the next time that I make it up to Vancouver, B.C.
We were a party of four and all enjoyed an amazing meal at Forage. We all praised the Saturday special with bison done in a variety of ways including a small roast, tartar, ground, and marrow. We made short history of the platter. In addition we ordered tuna and duck. All the offerings were enjoyed. The beet salad was really our only vegetable dish and we would have liked to have had more vegetables included with the meat dishes. It always seems to be a short coming of many restaurants -- the lack of vegetables with the main dishes. However, the meal was quite wonderful, the bottle of wine very affordable and our server was attentive as needed. We all plan to return.
Best family birthday ever. We had two 40th birthdays to celebrate. The service was first class, bringing the share dishes to our table with perfect timing, keeping our drinks full too. We tried some new tastes — bison carpaccio, duck liver mousse and some familiar dishes prepared in new ways — duck breast and gnocchi. Everything was beautifully presented, flavourful and fresh. And dessert! Elderflower with cream puff, chocolate and coffee. Heavenly. Thanks Forage. We’ll be back.
The food was tasty, well thought out, portions were very very small for the price. We had made reservations a month ago for four and yet we were given a table which was pushed into a corner, was a little uncomfortable.
Great food, very tasty. Would totally go back! Had mushroom omelette with lamb sausage. Would totally recommend. Coffee was great too!
Our table was two couples, best friends, celebrating Valentines in Vancouver. It was a fun evening. Since it was Valentines, they only had pre fixe menu with three appetizer choices, three entree’s, and a special dessert, which was a combination of four different desserts. Everything was served family-style on wood cutting boards. So, it is perfect for everyone to order strategically in order to have a broad variety of tastes upon which to graze.
Service was excellent. The first wine that I selected was one that I didn’t know anything about, except the varietal grape. It turned out to be not at all what I wanted and they graciously and quickly allowed us to select a different wine, which we loved and ended up going through two bottles. I believe all of their wines are BC origin and we found a Pinot Noir that was excellent.
The whole experience and food was excellent.
Always a great way to start the day!
One of the best in Vancouver. Best of B.C. farm to table, and outstanding B.C. wine list. Great service and the bar staff are so friendly that we prefer to sit at the bar. Creative cuisine and desserts are out of this world.
Nice place for a date
Incredibly good food, in a very nicely appointed space. Our server was really kind and very informative. Awesome brunch!
Would have liked dairy free and / or gluten free dessert options. The entrees were amazing, but disappointed for dessert options so went elsewhere. Loved the wine flight though.
Our waiter Brent was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. We had the gnocchi - was fantastic. And the beet carrot salad - fantastic. Also the mushroom dish.
The sable fish was just ok.
Overall I did enjoy the meal
We loved the food, cocktail and wine recommendations by our server. So well executed by Head Chef Trevor.
Ambience was exactly what we were looking for as well.
It was our first time visiting but we plan on becoming regular guests. Absolutely fabulous place! 😘
A tad overpriced. Great service though. Food was 7/10.
Our server was great and the food was fantastic. I would most definitely come back again and recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Third time here. Previously just amazing, this time food was not great. Wilted veggies, hard yolks on soft poached eggs, greasy halibut- scones still rocked.
I was so excited to eat here from what I had heard but we were all a bit un-wowed. I may try again in future but the portions were so small, the accompaniment were not cooked properly and just overall not as good as I had hoped. Everything tasted over smoked (we all 4 felt this way.)
However we did order a side of mushrooms for the table which were well enjoyed, and the cocktails were nice. In terms of the food I'm sad to be disappointed, as we were all so excited to try forage. Decent, too $$ for what you get, taste profiles are not well developed. Overall 6/10.
It was very average - the service was quite good but the food (chef’s menu) was not stellar: the fish was good, the bison was almost inedible. The restaurant is also rather cramped.
Our experience was excellent at Forage during dine out Vancouver. Thanks for a great evening out!
Very Limited menu and Mushroom dish and Tuna main course were not great.
I hope it was just the dine out menu because I had heard good things about this place. But the food felt mass produced. Like a cruise ship. Waaaaay too rich. But also too small. Was very disappointed.
I participated in Forage's Dine Out Vancouver Menu. I chose their land menu and the accompanying land wine tasting. I also chose the mocha bar and it was a little rich for my taste but if you are a fan of bold coffee and chocolate you will enjoy. The land menu was delicious but the items I ordered off of their regular menu as additional appetizers (bison carpaccio and pan bread) were the superior dishes.
While I understand that it was a special menu for Dineout Vancouver, I do still believe that the portions were extremely small for a menu that was valued at $45 per person. Other than that, the food was delicious and the service was pleasant.
A very good Fram-to-Table restaurant. Fresh ingredients with creations by the Chef won't make you disappointed.
Went to Forage for Dine Out Vancouver. Restaurant was crowded and popular - always a good sign. Unbelievably disappointed in the portion sizes. I’m not one to usually comment on that, but the Salmon Tataki appetizer, the fish main course and mocha cake were SO small, that I left the restaurant still hungry. I understand that they are aiming to be a meticulous, farm to table, high end restaurant, but this just missed the mark completely. Of the food I did have, it was tasty. I’m hoping this was just the Dine Out menu. Another note, consolidate your wine menu please! The server gave us a wine menu by the glass, then said we could look through the suggested pairings on the actual food menu for others not listed and between both places, there were no wines listed by the bottle (so we thought we could only order by the glass). Only to find out when I asked for the dessert wine menu, that there was another wine list that had the bottles listed.
Was very nice
My partner and I came for dine out and I was super underwhelmed with the service and food! Our server seemed super bored and uninterested in the job or in serving us - in comparison with the servers around us who talked about and introduced the ingredients animatedly, ours did laps and frowned a lot. That might have been forgivable if the food was good, but it tasted and looked like it had been made and had been sitting out - the garnishes were wilted, everything was room temp, and came out immediately - suspicious! I was also turned off by the pre-poured water glasses sitting on all of the empty tables.. how hard is it to pour water as a guest sits down? and there were fruit flies everywhere!! :( I was super disappointed because this was my first visit to forage and I was expecting to be blown away, but definitely was not :( all that said, the cheese puff was delicious. I’d come back for that.
Always enjoy dining at Forage. Every course was creative and delicious. Excellent options for BC wines and cocktails. Sabastian was delightful.
I think the food is great. I went to another farm-to-table concept restaurant that charged $20 for a bottle of wine and the food wasn't memorable at all. One of my better Dine Out experience I must say.
The only critique I would have the confusing and limited washroom facilities.
Cheers.
Dine out menu was delicious! It was understandably noisier than usual duento dine-out popularity, but or server was great at being attentive to us and delivered outstanding service.
The $45 menu for Dineout was not worth it in my perspective. When you participate in this event, it's your opportunity to showcase your customers your dishes that help you set yourself apart from other restaurants. the dollar value did not match the quality of dishes.
Food extremely good! Good wine collection too.
