We're not from Chicago, but have been to this restaurant a number of times. The atmosphere is clam and warm and our waiter, Felipe, was fantastic. It's a very friendly, welcoming place with great food in a cool neighborhood. I highly recommend it.
Best happy hour prices in Chicago!!
Met our friends at Francesca’s on Taylor before going to see Fleetwood Mac at the UC. Service was very sensitive to our timing constraints. The Salmon was superb, the Osso Bucco was excellent. The entire experience was terrific down to the valet guys!!
As always, every Francesca’s we go to is a wonderful experience! Whether it’s in the city or in the suburbs you can count on one thing, perfection!
Food was excellent. There was four of us. Two had the chicken dish special. One had the trout and I had the salmon. It was 1/2 off on bottles of wine Tuesday. We ordered a $100 bottle for 50 bucks. I wish that I would of jotted down the name on the bottle, because it was probably the best tasting wine I've ever had. Desserts are tremendous. I will definitely go back.
The food was great. Wait staff was very nice, but some issue with drink order that didn’t come. We’ve gone to this restaurant on many occasions and will definitely go back. Thanks
Selection of choices is limited, especially for people on special diet.
Our anniversary dinner was phenomenal! We were married there several years ago, and before that we dined there at least twice a year. They did not disappoint. The wine is superb, the food is fresh and just right portions, and we had our dessert paid for by our server! We’ll be back soon.
Will not go there anymore on hockey game days they cram too many tables in and we’re understaffed. Food was excellent
Francesca's on Taylor St. is a guaranteed great dinner every time. I bring clients here frequently and they always enjoy the food. It's a great place to meet before a Blackhawks or Bulls game. Highly recommended.
Our third year in a row celebrating Valentine's Day at Francesca's on Taylor. Food was decent. Service was OK. Maybe we will try a new venue next year??
Really great Valentine’s Day dinner! Sam was wonderful as usual! The restaurant was busy as would be expected but everything was great!
Aa per usual for me I ordered with changes to my food and the food came out even better than I expected!!
Excellent food and Cocktails.
Just heard Scotts WBBM interview an entrepreneur Friday congratulations Scott and Joe on your new adventure
Always have had a great meal at this location. This time, however, service was not as good as in the past and our food was cold.
Great food and atmosphere. Love coming here for dinner before events at the United Center.
Excellent meal and service on opportune anniversary pricing evening.
Delicious, Delightful! Food was on point! We also had dessert..
Love this place. The food is always delicious and service is friendly and attentive.
Beautiful restaurant. The seating was very tight. Food was very good.
Take-out order and drinks at the bar while we waited for our food. Thrown in one container which really messed the meal up.
Love this place. 2nd vist to Chicago and 2nd vist to Francesca's; will definitely go back every time I visit. Prices are great, food is fresh and delish every time. Service is amazing. No complaints here.
Had a great meal and great waiter Sam!
Nice and relaxing time!
I’ve been dining here for more than 18 years, but, even after several years absence, the food is still increíble. And, our server, Nick, made the experience memorable. Thank you!!!
We enjoyed a nice week day meal here. The brushetta is wonderful Choccked full of tomatoes, garlic and basil. We each had a spaghetti dish that was yummy. His was spicy with egg plant in a nice red sauce and mine was a vegetable affair in a lite, garlic broth. We enjoyed anice bottle of wine. Ended diner with espresso and profiteroles. Good meal all around.
Went for NYE dinner. Great food and experience.
We went for an early dinner on NYE with our 3 year old and our server was OUTSTANDING. She had a blast and so did we. Food was amazing and it was just a laid back environment. At first I thought it was odd that this beautiful italian restaurant was blasting Huey Lewis and the News and 80s music but it worked and put us all in a good mood. We live in the area and have spent a Christmas Eve, birthdays and NYE here. It is a favorite of ours and we will continue to come back.
A Christmas Birthday celebration for a very special person!
Francesca's is a lovely spot. Great for a family dinner. Something for everyone.
We were so happy to find this place and overall it was very tasty food. Burratta was a little too wet (the ball burst when I cut into it) but the balance of flavors was wonderful. Both of our entrees were delicious but not hot. I realized how important it is to have your dinner be hot and not lukewarm. Eggplant Parm appetizer - delicious but better hotter, lamb shanks the same.
Dessert looked more awesome than it tasted. The house comped dessert due to the temp on food (they didn’t need to do that - classy touch) but the crisp was too sweet. The perfiteroles were the best.
I would definitely return. Loved the feel of the place! Lovely staff.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager/mixologist and he serviced us at the bar. Friendly and attentive. There were specials this particular night for happy hour, however they were not mentioned to us by the manager/mixologist and we had to inquire about them ourselves. When it was mentioned to the server, he stated it was too late to partake in the specials as there was only 10 minutes left in which to take advantage of them. Once we received the happy hour appetizer specials, the cost did not reflect what was advertised on their chalkboard. It stated there were $5 appetizers but all the specials were $6 and above. Once ordered, the appetizers came out promptly and were delicious. The server, however, did not return to take our order for some time. He also forgot to bring items that were requested such as a glass of wine, a straw and a glass of ice. We went to the bar to get the straw ourselves. After some waiting, we had to flag down the manager to get the wine and glass of ice as the server still had not returned. Once the food was ordered and brought to the table, the food runners called out the name of the dish and proceeded to hand out the food from across the table instead of coming around and placing it in front of each customer. Even when refilling our water, they would reach right in front of our faces across the table rather than going around the table. Service was sub par and just needs a little tweaking. On a good note, the food was excellent. I would still recommend going and hope the little service details get ironed out. Note to management: Please have your seating numbered so the food does not have to called out to each person like rollcall, teach the staff the proper way to serve/pour by not reaching across the table. The server was too busy to pay proper attention to us so put more servers on.
Great service atmosphere and as all Francesca’s the food was terrific!
Dined on a Sunday night. Service was excellent. We asked for a modification to the dish which was accomplished with ease. We thought the food was very good and we had a nice table. We would recommend to others who want to visit Little Italy.
Great food, in a cozy environment. Was nice place to catch up with the family for dinner.
I have loved this restaurant for a couple of decades now! Our last 2 visits have begun what I hope is not a trend... poor service. Our server was great for his first visit to the table. After that, he was a ghost! Our water glasses were not refilled until at least 20 minutes past when they should have been. Desert menu not offered until well after it should have been. We spent 2 hours being neglected. The service was not horrible but it also was not good. We should not have to scan the room for 15 minutes wondering where the waiter went. The food on the other hand was GREAT! Get it together Francesca's :(
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and great service. We loved all the dishes we ordered, but the risotto with sausage stood out. Our waiter took great care of us. After the risotto, he asked if we wanted our Tuscan chicken with spinach instead of potatoes since we had already had bread and rice, and it turned out to be the perfect substitution. We wouldn't have even thought to ask! Definitely a place to go back to.
Food could have been hotter. I had a reservation and was told to sit anywhere. Unfortunately all tables by the windows were taken. A window seat would have been nice.
Really good food and Myra was an excellent server!
Veal was delicious. Everyone was friendly, especially our waiter and valet attendant! Will dine in again.
