Francobollo Ratings and Reviews
As usual everything was fantastic
A wonderful addition to the Upper Avenue Road area. The food was superb, very friendly and professional staff and at last a beautiful restaurant in the area. In a class of its own.
We were recommended by a friend to go.
The service was great. I ordered the signature caesar salad and the pasta bolognese - both were flavourful and delicious. I Loved. The bread and olive oil at the beginning was tasty as well.
They pour a good sized glass of wine - which is always a bonus. And the house wine was much better than other house wines. Nothing worse than a small glass of wine for $x.
We declined dessert, but I'm certain their Tiramisu would have been amazing.
It's a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a nice meal out in North Toronto.
This is a great mid-town find for us. We go to Tara ( Thornhill), as soon as I found out this is part of their group I booked a reservation.
Food and service were very, very good...highly recommended.
Love tbe the food and service. It's neighbourhood friendly. We have dined there many times and will continue to do so.
Great service by Patrick
Service is very slow! We arrived before most people and all regulars were served their meals before us. Food is average and table side service is non existent in most part. Heard excuses as to why arriving at 6:30 and not getting our meal to 8, but honestly did not care. Would not return or recommend at all. Booked on open table and listed my food allergies which they ignored to read or acknowledge.
Best beet salad ever... perfect rack of lamb...
the staff were wonderful ...I will be back for sure
The food was awful, super salty. I got a seafood pasta and my wife got a steak. I talked to the server and got a new dish of pasta which taste the same. I only tasted a bite which is horrible then we just left. The serve was nice enough to waive the charge for the wine and my dish.
We have been to this restaurant numerous times and never been disappointed. Food is always good and service personal and courteous. Just a little too noisy when busy.
Very nice place. Loved the decor! The service was very good (attentive). Everyone really enjoyed their meals and we had a lovely evening.
Delightful evening! Delicious dinner and excellent service. We will be back!!!!
good service overall, friendly and helpful. Food was not as great as other reviews, and the fish was a little overdone. Somehow they couldn't control the temperature of the restaurant very well, going from super cold to normal temperature by turning on/off the air conditioner throughout the night. Rather annoying.
Great hospitality Imaginative menu Precise Preparation Reasonable price for quality Ambience very Romantic
WOW! Beautiful decor, food and wine! Hubby had romaine salad and veal chop and loved it. I had romaine salad and sea bream and it was awesome! The best! Our martinis were perfect and the wine was superb. We shared tiramisu and it was delicious! The bread basket was filled with slices of bread so yummy it could easily have passed for cake. The waiter was awesome and made my birthday so special. We will be back and I'm thrilled to say this is my new favourite restaurant!
Took a friend there who had not been before. She loved it and is now thinking of using it for business purposes as well as personal. Staff was amazing
The food and service was excellent. The restaurant itself is beautiful.
First rate food, service and atmosphere. We had a very pleasant luncheon.
A terrific addition to Avenue Rd north. Great food, service and atmosphere.
We had a great experience at Francobello. Warm welcome ,excellent service and delicious food.
Wine prices too high but overall an enjoyable night .We will return
"It was kinda s
It was our second time dining at Francobollo within a couple of weeks, and I must say it was a great experience both times. There is nothing that lacks in this restaurant. Food is delicious, service impeccable and ambiance clean, contemporary and welcoming.
We will go back there for sure pretty soon again!
I had a very comfortable and nice lunch with Francobollo. Thank you very much they provided a excellent service and outstanding delicious foods.
First time there. Booked based on location (I'm in the hood) and star rating on Open Table. Waiter was knowledgeable and suggested a great wine for dinner. Had a great Sense of humour. We were seated upstairs, which felt a little too much like someone's living room. Would have preferred to be seated downstairs. Food fantastic, but mains took a long time to come.
There were some nice private rooms upstairs though if privacy is what you are looking for. Main floor had much more of a buzz.
Three of us enjoyed a great dinner last Sunday. We followed recommendations and had some of the seasonal softshell crab. The Barbetiola salad was amongst the tastiest anywhere. We ordered gnocchi, prawns/scallops and risotto, all of which were outstanding. A good wine list to choose from, yummy deserts and coffees rounded out the experience. Highlight of our evening was our waiter, Jason. Intelligent, witty, knowledgeable, attentive and all around likeable he made this a truly enjoyable evening. Five stars in all departments!
One of our "go to places" when we are in Toronto visiting our daughter. Food is always amazing...the service is beyond...everyone who works there is so passionate about the food and the dining experience. Although the wines are a little high priced we were able to find something and it was delicious!
Definitely a tradition and one we will continue to go to!!
Always excellent! Great food and attentive, engaging employees.
Great neighbourhood upscale spot that has very good cuisine. Small space that is consistently busy - sometimes too noisy but a good addition to the area. All dishes were well made and nicely presented.
I have visited this restaurant several times. I have not found any disappointment at different meal I have had.
A variety of meal selection and specials which can meet most people's appetite.
The only thing is about quietness. If you are looking for very quiet dinning environment, this does fit in the category. Perhaps this is a happy dinning environment, so people cannot help talking a bit loud.
Consistently serves delicious meals with great service. The food is authentic but elevated.
Informed, engaged and courteous service staff;
Creative menu and Excellent food.
Very attentive servce
A very enjoyable experience. We will visit again ... soon.
My wife and I used to frequent this location for many years. It used to be Richlee's which was superb in every way from friendly service, great food and great atmosphere. Francobello was the exact opposite. The servers while nice but had an air of affectation and indifference. The first question was what kind of water we wanted. Flat or Sparkling. That annoys me no end, so we got off immediately to a poor start. The atmosphere is cold and stark and uninviting. I ordered a bottle of Wine for $65, only to be told it was a half bottle, with no suggestions for a similarly priced full bottle. Mind you the choices in that price range were extremely limited, which also annoys me to no end. At Richlee's, Manuel always had good affordable wines in stock and generally selected a good one for us. We sat down and realized this was not going to work out for us. We left before being disappointed any further. We instead took a cab over to Gamberoni's on Yonge and had exactly the experience we wanted and had a super evening.
NOTE: I rated the food and value because they a required. Those two ratings are really N/A
Very good service . I ordered the veal but it was so salty for me . I returned it and the server was so nice , then I ordered the tri-beets risotto and it was so good. Also their wild mushroom risotto is sooo good and also the pistachio cheesecake is delicious and the plate decor are just perfect . Highly recommended to friends .
It was an excellent experience. The service was great. I will definitely come back again.
Friends said they loved the prawns very much! I recommended this place for their Valentine's Day dinner and they loved it!
Despite having a booking we waited for a table for an excessively long time. We were 3 people as booked, they had seated couples at larger tables and only had two tables for two available. Patrons walking off the street with no reservation with parties of 2 or with 4 or more were seated before us. Patrons with bookings after us were seated earlier. It seems they could not accommodate 3 in a timely fashion. They were disorganized and dismissive and rude. The individual at the front desk was not qualified to deal with people. He was argumentative and rude. If it was possible to get a booking elsewhere we would have left. This introduction to the evening ruined our dinner. However I must say the wait staff that attended us that evening was attentive and tried hard to make up for the poor behavior of his matre de and was very apologetic and pleasant. He did salvage the nite for us. I will say however I will not return to that site. We are regulars at Tera their other site, it is excellent and there is no pint going back to this site as there are many fine dining places in toronto. I don't need to be treated with disrespect when I am paying good money to enjoy my evening out.
Will definitely go back. Fantastic food selection, had a risotto done on perfection. Good service, friendly atmosphere
A friend and I were celebrating our Birthdays together and I brought him to Fancobollo as it's not far from where I live and I really like it. We had a delicious meal sharing a beautiful beet salad as appetizer followed by a veal lemon main course that we each had. For dessert I had the pistachio cheese cake which was scrumptious and he had tartuffo with caramel sauce which he really enjoyed. The wine was good, expensive by the glass, but there is a great selection if ordering by the bottle. It would have been nice to be able to order a half bottle or half litre. The service was excellent and I highly recommend the restaurant .
I had lunch with my friend. We were given the evening menu instead of lunch menu. Prices were way TOO HIGH for lunch. The website STILL showing the lunch menu even though the person I spoke on the phone with said they stopped using lunch menu 6 month ago. NO WONDER WE WERE THE ONLY 2 PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT.
Way to go. REMOVE LUNCH MENU FROM YOUR WEBSITE.
I will no go again or recommend anyone this restaurant.
Awesome food, great staff. Too noisy, though.
