Frankie's Italian Kitchen & Bar
We went downtown for a show and Frakie's was easy to get to. Had a lovely atmosphere, quite even though it was quite busy (Christmas season). The food was so good we all ate more than we thought we could and the price is not high. I would recommend this place for anyone at any time. It is not too formal but is classy and has a lot of options.
Excellent service, good food, good value. Server Dario (think it's his name) was very attentive and brought us a complimentary birthday cake because it was my friend's 50th birthday! Overall good service.
Excellent service, very knowledgeable staff. Nice decor, good ambiance, food is great, never a bad experience
Amazing! Love it.
Loved that you could hear the jazz bar from the restaurant, but would have appreciated similar music on the stereo in between sets instead of top40 pop.
With so many restaurants in Vancouver to chose from I would give them a try before returning to Frankie's. I cannot recommend it to friends, family or colleagues mainly because of the noise level that prevented a conversation at the table and because of the poor service. Our wait person was not engaged. He got our bill wrong not once but twice! Maybe he was having a bad day, if that's the case, please don't inflict it on me.
We chose Frankies as it was conveniently located to the Cirque de Soleil venue on Pacific...an easy walk. Dinner and sevice were great and food came out quickly. I had the risotto and my husband had the veal. Both were excellent.
I'd definitely go back and wouldn't hesitate to refer friends.
Such good food and service. I would say that go and enjoy the food and drinks
Darrel was our server. He's so funny my wife enjoyed his jokes on her birthday.
My friend and I shared a wonderful Shrimp Scampi Tagliatelle with a crisp green salad each
and some excellent Focaccia bread.
Our waiter - I believe Jason was his name - was excellent -- attentive and very
knowledgable about any questions.
Have already recommended to some friends - and will certainly return again myself.
The server was fantastic! The food was great and we could talk and enjoy each other's company. It's refreshing to eat in a restaurant that has not got blaring music and TV's everywhere.
We visited on a Saturday and timed it before the Canucks game. We were very impressed with how quickly our meals arrived after we ordered. It almost seemed a bit rushed as our wine hadn’t even arrived at the table yet.
We went to Frankie’s for my husband’s birthday and before the Canucks game. What a beautiful restaurant, so inviting and such friendly people. We had a great meal and are already planning to go back with friends.
Food came really quickly and was very good. The service itself was poor - we had to flag down the waitress numerous times because she never came by the table again after dropping the drinks and food off. Was also very loud inside but not uncommon given it was so packed. Overall a good place to eat before a game or show at Queen Elizabeth.
Excellent food and great service. Had the special seafood pasta. My wife had the lasagna and we slip a caesar salad.
It was convenient to hockey game. Nice relaxed, great service. Will definitely come again when going to shorts events
Service was super quick and their Pesto Chicken Gnocchi was delicious! Oh and their tiramisu... no words!!
Dinner before the football game
The food was wonderful for the appetizers and main course but for an Italian restaurant the coffee was weak as dishwater and totally flavorless and the dessert tasted of sugar and nothing else. Not up to scratch! We may have picked the wrong dessert BUT coffee in an Italian restaurant should be rich and creamy. Such a disappointment.
A little slow to start, but that didn't last and could have been because we arrived about 20 mins apart. Food was very good , we were a little disappointed with the charcuterie when it first arrived, but it was dealt with quickly and properly.
I had the pesto chicken gnocchi, it was fresh and tasty. The hostess and server very professional, attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for both food and its service.
Great atmosphere, knowledgable friendly staff, excellent menu, quality food.
It was a lovely restaurant with great ambiance and food.
Enjoyed the food, and h=the waitress looked after us well. However the coffee was poor.
All good, been many times, always satisfied!
I have recommended to all family and friends.
Our waiter was excellent! Food was served quickly as well.
We took the lasagna and it was good but expected that it would be more tasty!
The staff was very nice!
The server was great but got a little busy and waited a bit for our bill.
Wanted to try something new and came across this restaurant. Disappointed to say the least. Table service was painfully slow. What I ordered was a Cobb salad. What a disgrace. I missed taking a pic. To describe, half an iceberg lettuce cut into 4x 1/4’s and laid out as it sounds. Less than half of an avocado, maybe 2 tablespoons of cold bacon bits and a 1/4 cup of chicken bites that was pan fried.
And that’s it. How’s does that sound?
Oh, it’s in a hotel.
You would expect with so many choices in Vancouver, every establishment would step up their game.
Maybe it was an off day for the kitchen and the wait staff.
I always give establishments a 2nd chance before dropping off any lists.
Maybe one day, I’ll return. But can say not in the near future
We have been to Frankie's before and we were not dissapointed. Food was excellent, lasagna and seafood linguini, and the service was as usual very good. The noise level was very high but we forgot that it was a BC Lions game that evening. Once the game attendees slowly drifted out to the stadium (which is right across the street) the ambiance was much better. Definitely will return for another special occasion.
Food and service was great.
Noisiest restaurant ever. Convenient location for a pre-game dinner, but the experience was just adequate. Chicken Linguini was actually Chicken Spaghetti. Guess the chef didn't think guests were sophisticated enough to be able to tell the difference between flat and round pasta. Service was efficient, but the male server should drop the sarcasm which wore thin quickly - seemed to be more for his own amusement than ours. Oh, have I already mentioned that it was the noisiest restaurant ever?? It's funny how our tastebuds can't kick in when our ears are numb.
Food quantity is so little and the price is too expensive. Online the prices appear to be cheaper but not in person. My friend got a spoon and knife that wasn’t washed properly.
Had a early reservation before Elton-John concert and arrived a few minutes early. The hostess was indifferent and told us to just sit and wait until the table was ready.l although there were several tables empty. However once seated our waitress was lovely and inquired if we were going to the concert the service was great the food was good. The tomato and burrata salad was divine. The salmon was overcooked and under seasoned. Overall it was good for a quick dinner before a dinner
First time there and we have a great time. Food was delicious, and our server was fantastic! Definately will go back again, especially if I am attending a show at BC Place or Rogers Arena.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Close to al the event venues!
Nice surprise to find such a good restaurant right in our hotel; so convenient!
Liked our waiter a lot too.
We liked it so much that we dropped by after our concert for a couple drinks.
Everything about Frankie’s was delightful. The restaurant is lovely, the service superb and the food just delicious.
It was our anniversary. We were treated very well and were made to feel special. I would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant. My husband is Italian and said it was one of the best lasagnas he has ever had !
