Frankie's Italian Kitchen & Bar
Server was amazing. Personable and attentive.
Gotta have the arancini - best I’ve has anywhere. My wife loved the lamb which is a Frankie’s special. Also some half decent wines by the glass and not crazy prices.
Great spot for a date night or dinner with friends.
The food was excellent (loved the steak and beet salad). The service was terrific - friendly without being intrusive (no asking what our plans were for the rest of the evening). We were on a pre show timing and everything from drinks to the bill was smooth. The table was located in a weird no man's zone near the entry to the restaurant and hotel. It felt a bit exposed visually and to exterior sounds. Perhaps using some of the room dividers in that area would provide a better ambiance (similar room dividers are used in the room elsewhere).
Great service and good food. Pizza was just average but pasta was very delicious.
I will eat here again every thing was to our satisfaction & the price was reasonable
Overall it was good. The restaurant was pretty empty at 7pm and we were seated in a tight corner next to a pillar. When asked if we could move to a different table, we were told that everything was reserved. The restaurant stayed pretty empty until 8pm when the hockey game finished. A bit annoying but fine.
Our appetizers, Caesar salad and Arancini came out very fast - a bit too fast really. Caesar was good - nothing exceptional, but tasty. The polenta croutons did not have a lot of taste to them though. The Arancini was not very hot but was okay and tasted good - could have used a bit more sauce though.
Our mains were Rigatoni Salsiccia and Amato pizza. The pasta was a bit soupy and the rigatoni could have been cooked for about a minute longer to make it a bit more tender. The pizza good.
Our dessert, Tiramisu, was the best part of the meal. Very tasty.
The atmosphere is a little too Sports Bar with the TV’s and the patrons are mostly sports enthusiast due to its location across from B.C. Place and near Rogers Arena. Felt overdressed with everyone else in a jersey or t-shirt.
Overall, it was good and not very expensive for what you get.
Great! Food excellant, service was very good considering the bolume
It was very nice. My only comment would be the food came out very quickly, we had just received our drink.
Otherwise very good.
Gnochi was great as was the seafood linguine. Overall a very decent Italian food experience. Not 5 stars but still a good restaurant and a solid 4 star.
Excellent food and customer service. Enjoyable evening.
Went here before a hockey game. Easy walking distance to the arena. Good attentive servers. Appetizers came out fast, and food also was quick to come out. Everything tasted great. Will be back.
Drafty near the front door. Otherwise it was good.
The food is great. Value is good and the service is excellent
This was my second time at this restaurant. We felt rush the moment we got seated. We arrived at 7:50 and got our meal at 8:01! We had just received our cocktails when our meal arrived. Our bottle of wine arrived after we had started our meal. Overall felt rushed by server to turn the table despite our reservation a week in advance.
We were between World Juniour hockey games and Frankie’s let me pre-order our meal and it came right away. Service was excellent and the meal was great. We have been a number of times but this was one of the beat meals overall.
The service was excellent. Very friendly and efficient. The menu is varied but not too crazy. All of us enjoyed our meals and have since returned based on the first visit. The pizza is very tasty.
Our beautiful waitress, Nicole, was excellent. Service was exceptional and her wine recommendations were perfect.
Good food and atmosphere, and good value. Not too noisy. Great location for pre-game or concert.
Great meal with my wife and kids after the world junior game
I said service was only 'good' because the food came in the wrong order,
In an Italian restaurant the oil+ barbaric should be served immediately with the drinks,
then the antipasto, and the server should wait till the antipasto is finished before serving main course.
with us the food essentially all came nearly at the same time.
Not really good even for a 'casual' bar/restaurant
Efficient, friendly service and close to Rogers Arena and QueenEuzabeth theatre. Pasta was delicious and the tiramisu was too. Great spot before a performance or game
Four of us were there for a special occasion for an evening dinner. The food was great. The service was excellent. Our server knew wine and so he was very helpful in helping us choose the right wine for the food we had ordered. We loved our appetizers and we really appreciated the dipping bread. I also appreciated that the noise level was relatively low. Therefore we could have good conversation and ended up staying for an hour longer than normal. Any restaurant that has a high noise level I will not go to. And the price was right.
The jazz quartet was good. The singer has great pitch control but breath control could use improvement. Perhaps a signing coach would help.
My only complaint about the restaurant was the women's bathroom. It's over in the hotel lobby and there were 2 stalls with one not working and the other a little problem with getting it to flush. So there was a lineup in the bathroom. I left and went to the bathroom somewhere else. I mentioned it to the front desk staff and they were nice but seemed to have the attitude, "what can we do!". The one toilet that had the out of order sign on it just seemed to need to have the flush lever connected or maybe a new part. Is that so difficult to fix??
Sat at the bar and had a nice bottle of wine and a selection of amazing appetizers. The arancini are out of this world. Calamari, meatballs and buratta were also fantastic. We will be back again soon!
Great dinner in a great restaurant. As far as Italian food goes, this is a favorite. There were 6 of us and everyone had something different. Everyone commented on how good the food was.
This was our first time at Frankie's and we'll definitely be back! We started off with the Calamari, to share. Delicious with the added jalapeños. My partner and I ordered the same entree ( which is rare) it was the Scampi with Tagliatelle....so good! The prawns were done to perfection and the lobster bisque sauce was lovely. Too full for dessert but perhaps next time. Highly recommend on all levels: food, service and ambience.
Great variety on the menu, something for everyone. Arancini were absolutely delicious!
A bit noisy but what restaurant isn't. Location close to library, QE, hockey arena.
Fantastic food. A little noisy (loud music), pre-hockey game crowd made conversation a little difficult. Great service. One of my new favorite restaurants in Vancouver.
Great food and great service, amazing accommodations for a gluten allergy.
The food was amazing! However, the service was a little slow and we had to constantly call the server over. It was busy, but not busy enough I feel like to have had slow service. Otherwise I enjoyed my time there.
Lovely restaurant, convenient location to Queen Elizabeth theatre, good variety and reasonable price point.
There are no surprises when you dine at Frankie's. It's a great place with a fine menu. The restaurant is convenient to lots of entertainment locations.
We went to the jazz side which was much better in terms of ambience. Wonderful live music.
My Friend and I enjoyed every minute of our time at Frankie's. The food was delicious and our server was lovely and attentive. Thanks for making the start to our theatre night a memorable one.
Made a reservation for 3 of us to come for dinner after the matinee at the QE. We were early and were seated cheerfully and promptly at an excellent table we had requested to be as far from the "noise" as we could. Our server was excellent - prompt but not pushy service, well informed, very cheerful, and willing. Food was very good though I think a salad could go with the meal if there's only meat and spaghetti on the plate and not have to pay separately. All in all the atmosphere was superb and everything couldn't have been better to end a perfect day!
Everything was fabulous
2nd time we had reservations and table wasn’t ready for another 35 minutes. We were on time for our reservations on both occasions. Manager bought us a round of drinks to compensate. Appreciated the gesture but we had to rush through our dinner and barely made it to our show on time
We have not been to Frankie’s for a while and were looking forward to it. However on this occasion it was a bit disappointing. A group of 5 of us was seated at a huge round table which made conversation very difficult. The veal parmigiana was a bit dry and the special seafood pasta just ok not great. We ordered and were charged for 3 Caesar salads but only got 2. The charge was reversed but only after some discussion. All in all a bit disappointing and we may not go back on our next trip to town.
